We booked into this remote hotel for 4 days after staying in Central Luang Prabang. We started to get concerned on the approach to the hotel which was just a dirt track littered with household waste. On arriving at the hotel at lunchtime the only member of staff was a young man of about 16. On the way to our villa we could see the whole place was empty of other quests and very run down. The supposed luxury villa was very dark and run down and covered in ants. The covers on the outdoor furniture were covered in mould and sweat stains. The floor in the outdoor shower was also covered in black mould and the toilet dirty. There was no safe in the room the young man had to go and get one out of the office. At this stage we had great concerns about staying at this hotel and went a walk round the grounds. The pool area was also run down and the pool obviously hadn't been used or cleaned for a while. We went to look at the restaurant for lunch and it was locked and closed. Still at this stage We had only seen the one member of staff. As we continued to walk round the grounds you could see no maintenance had been done on the place for a long long time. The gardens were a mess with dead vegitation everywhere and rotten woodwork. Due to the fact that the hotel is very remote you had to spend most of your time at the hotel which wasn't suitable for guests. They have removed their website from the internet which is a telling sign. Needless to say we left immediately.

It’s a great hideaway but quite away from the town and the airport. Unfortunately it lacked atmosphere as we were the only guests during our stay of 2 nights. Beautiful large room overlooking the river though hard bed typical of Asia generally. Ok bathroom. Hardly any service at reception both at check in and check out. Restaurant staff were lovely and looked after us very well as we took all our meals there. Would we stay again? May be not but it is a relief from the busy center and a good rate.

Obviously this place is way outside town, and is the kind of place you just relax and chill. If that is what you are looking for, this is a great place. Although they offer a free shuttle service into town. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, just the sound of the river and crickets at night. We had a riverside room, which was palatial and very impressive. The woodwork in the rooms is amazing. The restaurant/bar serves up good food and wine at reasonable prices. Great place to hang out for a couple/few days if you just want to "get away".

We arrived at the resort after being suggested by another couple we met on the road who were also on their way there. With no booking we hoped there would be a room available and were prepared to take the risk. At the front desk the concierge said the cheaper two categories of rooms were fully booked out, only the more expensive room was available - a riverside bungalow. At $120USD this was not in our budget but after consideration we decided to stay. Unfortunately for we were made to pay up front... later on we were to discover that we had been lied to! The rooms were not fully booked, only one other couple was staying in the resort and another couple had arrived about the same time as us, who as it turns out paid $70USD for the same room! If the resort had felt like it was worth $120 we would have been happier. We have stayed at cheaper places that provide you with a free drink on arrival, chocolates, many free benefits and a spectacular breakfast. Not here. The included breakfast was tiny and ordinary. We also had to ask for an extra towel twice. After three hours and it not arriving I also had to investigate where our order was, first being told "we don't have", but then it miraculously appeared when we asked a different staff member. If you dont care about how much you pay for a room, sure go there and enjoy the location, it is pretty. But if you care about integrity, honesty and values, then stay at the guest house in the next town! Save your money and disappointment.

We stayed here for a couple of days on the way back to Luang Prabang because we wanted to be out of town. It's a beautiful place, right by the Nam Ou river. We were the only guests so they upgraded us to G7, a big detached room with a huge balcony. It was obviously a bit quiet but we had stayed somewhere quite basic up country so the extra luxury was nice. There is only the hotel restaurant but the food is ok, just disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance. From here it's only a short boat ride to the Budha caves where the river meets the Mekong River. Opposite there is a lovely restaurant and the Pak Ou elephant camp. I don't think you will be disappointed if you stay here

Room Tip: Riverside lodges are the best. The other rooms are smaller and the view is blocked by the lodges
