I came to this place because of the recommendations here, but reality was far away. I should mention that I have been in several guesthouses in Luang Prabang over the years and certainly this was one of them that don’t worth the price. Bed was not good. The owner is not there- and you feel it. There was one guy who gave no service or help and was busy all the time seeing movies in his phone . When I asked him about things he answered: this is what the owner told me to say or do.
Golden Lotus was worth a return visit! The hotel helped get a ride from the airport to the hotel for 50,000 Lao kip. The check in went easily. Breakfasts were very tasty and made to order. The staff led by Rhonard was helpful and executed well. The location is great to the center of the town. You cannot go wrong with the staff, the location and the price. Would return a third time.
I stayed for 3 nights in this homestay and I truly enjoyed it. It is near most of the main attractions and restaurants. The staff were helpful and friendly. Rhonard, the receptionist, was accommodating. He helped me arrange the local tours and most of the transportation bookings that I needed.
I stayed at Golden Lotus Place for four nights. The location is ideal as the morning market is literally outside the guesthouse. The night market is a block away. The property is in an ideal location, very central to most attractions in Luang Prabang. The room was very clean and secure. There are bikes to use for free to cycle around town. The breakfast was great also. Staff was very polite, friendly, and professional. Thank you to the staff who made me feel welcome. Special thanks to Rhonard. His hard work goes unnoticed. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Luang Prabang to stay at the Golden Lotus Place. I hope to be back and if I do, I would stay at the Golden Place Lotus again.
It's a great budget hotel. All hotels in LP are this kind of style homestay place. There's no large resorts or 10 story hotels. Felt very homey. Ronald, the host was very nice and helpful. The owner was around quite often too and he was nice as well. They have a free, made to order breakfast (mainly eggs) but you get a smoothie too. Coffee and water whenever you want. For $30 a room, it was an amazing deal in an area that's overrun with tourists so they can basically charge any price. As people have mentioned, the prime attraction is the location. The night market is right outside your door and the morning market is literally right outside. You're really close to the city attractions too. You probably can't get a better location. The rooms were clean. I liked the tv channels. It didn't smell as bad as the hotels in Vang Vieng. My sink was a little loose, like the faucet, but beyond that everything was pretty good. I had a gecko in my room, but I researched that they're harmless and good to get rid of bugs. I mean we're in the jungle. I saw a vendor lady pick slivers off of her filthy, naked baby's feet during the morning market, in front of everyone, so just remember you're in a third world country people. You came for the jungle, so expect some jungle vibes. I think I might have liked this place the best out of the dozens hotels I've stayed at in Southeast Asia cause of the employees.…
