Ideal place for peace and serenity with EXCEPTIONAL service in every regard. The Private Pool Villas are more than worth it. Magical! 👌 Donald, the Hotel Manager, is caring and a gentleman who is always concerned that ALL is going perfectly.

We recently returned from a wonderful stay in Laos. The hotel helped us out with passport issues due to my daughters passport not having 6 months left on it (arguably the hotel should have pointed this out when they were arranging for our visas!) which meant that she was allowed into the country after a 24 hour delay in Bangkok....

AMANTAKA : A delightful resort in a delightful city There’s something quite magical about Amantaka. It exudes an air of serenity; the spacious symmetry of the grounds echoed in the generous proportions of the public areas and suites, all decorated with stunning black & white photographs. We stayed for 4 nights during November in a Khan Suite, which was bigger...

We went here for dinner. They serve both Laotian and Western fare. My daughter was daring in trying a Laotian dish and, while there was nothing wrong with its preparation, she didn't like it and they were happy to change her entree. Once that was done, my son piped up that although he had ordered spaghetti and meatballs, he didn't...

Just finished four nites with my father and son! Amazing staff, fantastic new management team and of course a beautiful Lao French colonial architecture together embody a true destination experience! On staff cultural ambassador, Nit, was a massive resource in historical and anthropological areas and Mamawan is amazing on the city markets and culinary experiences. ALL the staff give 100...

This hotel is very conveniently located at the historical district and close to the important temples and other touristic activities. The service this hotel provides is probaly the best in town. The foods are all delicious.

Quite possibly one of the most frustrating hotels to stay in- the experience should be five star all the way and sadly this is somewhat lacking due to lack of managerial experience on site and English language issues with staff. As such what should of been a highly slick hotel turned out to be at best a four star hotel...

For almost fifty years, the writer has had a very special relationship with Luang Prabang. UNESCO saved the town from becoming another hodgepodge of buildings in order to retain its cultural setting. The Amantaka fits that concept perfectly. The Lao people are wonderfully kind and giving. Those working in the Aman are exceptional. The location, the staff, the food and...

The hotel was decent and the decor was nice, but the hotel is on a terminal decline. It felt empty and a little strange, and the fact that Aman could care less about what guests think (via even responding on TripAdvisor) shows just how much the company has slipped. The hotel didn't even make an attempt to help us plan...
