We stayed four nights in this guesthouse and we were very happy about our room and our hosts. The room was spacious and very clean, the beds big and comfortable and decoration was simple but cosy. Free bananas, water, tea and coffee were always waiting for us in the front yard and our hosts were always helpful and conscious when...

Admittedly this review is a little late around 3 years or so. Me and my wife stayed at their old guest house by the looks at the pictures. So this review is more based on how lovely the the couples are who run it. We stayed with them for a number of weeks while we used it as a hub...

We only stayed here for a couple of nights and thought it was great!! very simple, clean and had a really cruisy outdoor areas where we just sat and sank a few beers after our long trip. Its not smack bang in the middle of everything but thats what we wanted.

Couple who ran this guest house were lovely. He was French and she was Laotian. They both spoke good English. After being there for three days we were invited to join a family wedding blessing where we met old folk from the hostess village. We were given a Laotian blessing where a piece of string is tied around your wrist...

We booked for 2 nights and didn't leave for 10!! Luang Prabang itself will suck you in, but this is a great place to stay. You won't pay much, so don't expect the Ritz! The room was clean, the shower and air con worked and the people were friendly. The location is outside of the centre which we appreciated, but...

I stayed 5 nights in a room with a queen size bed and private bathroom. The room was a bit dark and had a bit of a mildewy smell. Yes, the mattress was rock hard and this is my only real complaint about the Vilay. However, the location of the guesthouse is very good and the free wifi was another...

Moved rooms after we found the shower did not work properly . Amazed to see new arrivals given our first room 5 minutes later with no attempt to fix shower. Room not clean, bed linen smelled. Garden area becoming a mess. Good quiet location. Free internet. No aircon in our room, but the fan was more than adequate to keep...

As I walked through the littered courtyard to my room, I thought I might possibly have made a mistake in booking this room sight unseen, but going into the room I knew it. The room, though a non-smoking room, smelled like cigarette smoke. The bathroom smelled of urine and was moldy. Come to think of it, there were mildew stains...

Simple, clean, cheap, with a lot of services (Wi-Fi with a good broadband is a plus), good "croques-monsieurs", speaking good english and French... At least "above average"...
