Bill Nguyen, the manager of the Golden Lotus Place in Luang Prabang, Laos was our hero. We arrived in Luang Prabang with a reservation at the Ramayana Boutique Hotel, after a 2-day boat ride down the Mekong. We arrived to a shell of a building. No hotel, no staff, completely under construction. We booked it through Orbitz and received no... More

The hotel is right in the centre of the city - surrounded by Wat Mai (a city's famous temple), morning market (a must go place in the morning) and the Grand Palace (now the national museum). You can walk to see/ participate in the morning alms (for 200+ monks) in 5 mins in the morning and the night market is... More

It's located very convenient and quiet area. The room is beautiful and enough wide to stay alone. I didn't have breakfast because I was so tired then, but there were some fruits in the room so I didn't need to go out. To consideri this price, I want to stay again.

Entering the ramayana was like an invitation to old world south east Asian hospitality-i should know-been a village girl in Malaysia. The timber and wood structure, particularly in the rooms, with windows opening out to palm and banana trees, was simply breathtaking. No multi star hotel can match charm like this. If only there was a well in the grounds... More

I recently returned to Luang Prabang for a week and chose this property because of it's very central location in the historic quarter of Luang Prabang. The staff that we encountered during our stay were attentive and helpful, and our room was immaculate. We specifically requested a room on the ground floor due to and mobility issue and were given... We were visiting Luang Prabang for about a week on a combined business and pleasure trip, and were pleasantly surprised with this small boutique hotel. The price was quite reasonable for what you get, and our room beautifully appointed and spacious. We actually requested a room on the ground floor on the back side, which we found to excellent, quiet... More

We were given one of the "nicer" rooms on the 1st floor. The walls are paper thin so it's impossible to sleep because you hear every single sound from outside (cars, motorbikes, trucks, night market closing, day market opening, frogs croaking all night long, and of course people and tv sounds from adjoining rooms). Eventually we moved to another room... More

We loved this place as we had moved from another hotel which was awful and what a surprise. The location is amazing - 100 metres from royal palace, night bazaar, and phosi hill. We stayed in a junior suite which had a king size bed, large room, excellent bathroom and amenities. Spotlessly clean. Safe in room and nice furniture. Jeroen,... More

We had a room out back which was very very dark and a little run down. It certainly has nothing luxury at all not that we expected luxury for that price anyway. A real let down was the breakfast. Great is that you are just minutes away from everything
