Enjoy your stay in Mandalay!
Stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions in March/April 2019. The hotel entrance / foyer is impressive but the rooms and corridors are tired and in need of a makeover. The hotel appears to cater largely for bus tours - breakfasts can be very busy, but lunch/dinner was taken in an empty restaurant. Food is acceptable but far from exciting. Staff are excellent. The hotel is far from the centre of Mandalay - some drivers find it difficult to locate. It is impractical to get to the centre other than by taxi. I f you want somewhere central this is not the hotel to stay at.
Rooms are big, bathroom has shower facility with hot water. Internet speed is good. Room service is fast. Breakfast area is big with enough varieties of food. Staff is polite and helpful. Only one issue is that it is situated out of main city. Overall hotel is good and recommended.
Rooms are quite large. Feel comfortable. Room service is very good. Foods taste good. But dining room is small for such hotel. The room is full during high seasons. Bar is small. It's usually empty. Swimming pool is ok size. It's open roofed but situated between tall buildings. So, it's shady almost all day. The hotel also has meeting rooms for business trips. Has car parking. If you are going just to relax, it's a nice hotel. It's a little far from downtown. Getting here and there is quite difficult. But there is a 24hr convenient store 5min walk. So, you can stay at hotel all day, stretching your body, laying beside pool and drinking cocktails.
I checked in Hotel Hazel from 5th to 8th June 2018. I have to thank the front desk staff as they were so helpful as in arranging taxi and always smiling. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows were like clouds. The amenities they put in the room were excellent like the super comfortable bathrobes. Lets not forget to thank the housekeeping staff who did all the work to keep the rooms clean and tidy. The internet was great on the first day… however it slowed down a lot on my last day there. Breakfast was amazing. You have the very talented egg station chefs who will cook made to order eggs. They have wide verity of foods from European to Chinese to Myanmar dishes. Well the outstanding person I met during my stay has to be the Duty Manager, Mr. Nandar Aung. He’s ever so friendly and knows how to converse with guests. That is important in this industry because it shows that upper management do care about customer satisfaction. Well done. I’ll defiantly check in if I am in Mandalay in the near future.…
Rooms super modern, breakfast has a huge selection, free cocktail in evening. Pool looked nice but doesn't open until 9AM so could not try a before-breakfast dip. A little out of town, a little tricky to walk to anywhere for dinner (dirt streets and no street lights), but if you have transportation and nice quiet resting spot.
