This boutique hotel in Royal Mandalay checked all of the boxes. Nice pool, great rooms and a really delicious on-site South Asian restaurant. The service could be improved to the typical SE Asia standard (especially considering the price), but still a really good option.

I don't think so. The hotel is nice but the rooms are very small. Our double bed was up against a wall - so you could only get out on one side or over the bottom of the bed. The ensuite bathroom was nice but indoors
