The service, room, and grounds were impeccable. From the hand-carved wood on the ceilings, walls, and furniture to the peaceful pond and its water flowing by my private porch, every detail was well thought out. We did not realize all there is to do while in Mandalay. Ms. Myat Noe, who works at the reception desk, was particularly helpful in suggesting, booking, and arranging transportation to several local "must-sees" to including a Marinette performance and several local sites. The food in the hotel's restaurant was very tasty and the service was excellent. The food selection is slim, so we did venture out to several excellent restaurants in the area. Also, for those who what to know, COVID was addressed. All staff wore masks and room cleaning was offered with protocols in place. …
At first glance it is a nice hotel, quirky but clean. The downside is the rooms are small and the hotel is situated on a busy road junction with tooting bike horns going well into the night. We chose to not go back for our second night. It’s a shame as in a quieter location this would be quite a nice place.
Stayed beginning of March. Loved the hotel ,in a lovely quiet location. Friendly staff.Room nice and balcony .Enjoyed the free cocktail hour and coversing with others. Gret value for money. No hesitaton in recommending this hotel.
Stayed in the hotel for a couple of times from room to room. One of my favorite room is located in the ground floor with outdoor bathroom. Once you entered the lobby, the pleasant aroma (sandalwood) was waited for you just to relax. Another favorite part is the dinning place where free breakfast is served. There is a free cocktail pool side party everyday from 6pm to 7pm where guests enjoy traditional Burmese Harp and wine.....Overall a truly an unforgettable experience....
We very much enjoyed our stay here. Our room was good with a small terrace facing the pool area. Complimentary cocktails by the pool in the evening with traditional music were a nice touch. The Indian food in the restaurant was very good and inexpensive. Staff very pleasant and we would definitely return.
We were told the rooms were small (and they are) but one forgives that as this hotel in central Mandalay is "small but perfectly formed" as the saying goes. The downside is that there is traffic noise but as against that -an excellent restaurant ( Indian and local),good mixed breakfast ,a generous happy hour and excellent staff!
I loved my one night stay here and wish I had at least one more night in Mandalay. Beautiful rooms, central location (use grab app to get a tuk tuk quickly) and good restaurant. Ask for a room with porch facing the front, I heard the back rooms are smaller. I will stay here again if I am lucky enough to return to Mandalay.
We stayed for two nights in a Chin room, which although is a nicely furnished room with a little patio with a stream running by is cramped!! The bed is against the wall so only one side table and with our cases in the room there was little room to manoeuvre.. the shower takes about three mins to get warm then it’s fine. The breakfasts are a let down as they are not replenished. Both mornings things had run out and are not replaced. This was particularly noticeable on our second morning.. we got in there just after 9, then another two couples also came in and we weren’t offered tea or coffee. There were just the dregs left in the jugs, white bread, beans, butter all gone.. This is in stark contrast to the restaurant in the evening when it becomes a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious!! The pool area is nice and my husband had a nice massage in the spa. They give you, upon arrival coupons for money off the spa and the restaurant.. the staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. …
We spent 2 nights in the hotel, the room was great, very nicely decorated with a shower available in a private outside place. People were ver fine and helpful. Although the food can be improved, particularly the breakfast, And the place is a bit noisy (which is surprising for the price) we spent a good time.
Mandalay is a special place and the hotel certainly helped with the experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, tidy and a little eccentric. The facilities are convenient. The restaurant is a little confusing, a franchise, but the food was excellent.
