Big hotel with luxuriously appointed lobby, if a little tacky. The rooms do not really live up to the promise. While perfectly comfortable, they are quite bland in the standard international style. Clearly they have been given a modest update for what is probably a 1980's build. The views of Mandalay Hill from hill view rooms are wonderful though. We...

Great view of the pagodas on the hill - great spa. Pool looked nice but was being used for a function so we didn't have access. Very comfy bed and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Good breakfast too

The setting (Mandalay Hill) and main lobby area suggest a more comfortable and stylish stay than we experienced. Rooms are not particularly spacious. Bathrooms can be cramped. In a 'superior' room it required some contortion to get round the door. The hotel is affected adversely by the loud noise from the adjacent entertainment complex - and from the monasteries during...

Staying at this hotel was a great start to our mountain biking trip throughout Myanmar. The rooms are spacious and the overall service is excellent. They have a beautiful pool area and a very good breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel when you are in Mandalay.

This lovely hotel is well situated for seeing all the local attractions. The bedroom was spacious, although the bathroom was very small. However, the public rooms are a joy to relax in. The food was excellent. Definitely the best hotel we stayed at in Myanmar.

The place is beautiful , close the royal palace and on the hill which provides a very nice view of the surrounding , especially pagodas . The outsides are nice and relaxing , especially the garden restaurant and the swimming pool . But few things need to be improved to keep a high level hotel ranking for foreigners : the...

I stayed here for one night. The hotel is at the base of the hill which can be walked up with some effort! The breakfast was excellent with all I could want and it opened early so I could catch my 9am flight. The dinner menu is also good and reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive. The only...

MHR is a very good hotel except for one problem. They Allow Smoking. It makes no sense at all. I was having a glass of wine in Kipplings elegantly appointed bar last night when a Russian couple sat at the next table and began smoking. My experience was ruined. The bar has an outside sitting area that can accompany smokers,...
