The room was quite basic but good enough and clean. It was 20 USD for a fan room, which we tought was a little bit too much (but we heard that for Mandalay it's cheap) But the breakfast totally made up for it. It's served on the rooftop (so a nice view and some wind to cool) and consisted of...

Low cost backpackers delight, i just had 2 nights here and that was enough. The rooms were small but clean, the bathroom usable. I was a bit concerned about the bars on the windows, and the noise from the local temple. rooftop breakfast was good. The reception/TV room is a cultural experience. one of the other guests spent her time...

Decent enough; the beds were comfy, but the bathroom was a disaster. Zero ventilation, and it was so mildewy that I was scared to open the door and using the toilet was a trial. The smell seeped into the room proper, and even though I requested a nonsmoking room, there was the odor of cigarettes. The location isn't that convenient,...

I also stayed here in Feb 2014 (wrote a similar review then) and the reason I stayed again was b/c I had the calling card/knew where it was + I knew they have a great breakfast here. The room was obviously basic for the price, it was reasonably clean and they serve a great breakfast on the roof. Actually, it...

The room itself is very basic but I guess you get what you pay for, feels like a prison cell with bathroom that needs a lot more scrubbing, frequent powercuts fried my phone (chinese brand but still..). On top of everything te what made me really angry was the manager trying to charge me 5% for my debit card transaction...

I had a mixed experience at A.D.1. Hotel. I booked and paid for a double room in advance on Agoda. When we got the the hotel (after a long bus ride from Yangon), the manager tried to pawn off a crappy interior room on the first level - moldy and smelly. I insisted on the 'superior' room I had paid...

My wife and I stayed here in Feb 2015 and liked it. The rooms are kind of old school but clean and comfortable. The area is decent, with the main road pretty close so it is pretty easy to get around from there and there are several walkable food and beer options. Wi-Fi was decent for Myanmar, staff was friendly...

As I lay on my bed staring at the rotating fan on the ceiling and the red light that illuminated the room, it felt like the opening scene of Apocalypse now but perhaps in a brothel. I kinda liked it, the gritty prison cell sized room with peeling paint, the unwalled gap at the top of the bathroom connecting to...
