I stayed there in October 2019. Everything was fine except one thing. That’s why I took quite a long time to write this review. Room- Spacious Elevator-working Swimming pool- very nice Location- It is not on main road. So, some taxi drivers find it difficult to find. But this is manageable. You’d better get a visiting card from the hotel. Trip to Sagaing- There was one problem with this hotel but this was because we were dumb. We asked for suggestions about visiting Sagaing to one of the staff as a day trip to Sagaing is very convenient from Mandalay. So, that staff member arranged a car for us for a fee of 70000 kyats($50) for half-day travel. Later, we learnt from a local chauffeur that it was way more than it should have been. It should have been about 25000 kyats($18). So, if you travel to that area, do not rely on staff. You can use Grab app to get a car to travel around or call a local car hiring service. Otherwise, I’ll recommend this hotel for your visit to Mandalay.

My wife and I enjoyed our one week stay here. The hotel is aptly named because it is tucked away near "Ye Sit Kan" (filtering pond) close to a residential area, yet easy access to downtown and major attractions in Mandalay via tuk tuk or taxi. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were nice, breakfasts were good with attentive staff, the rooftop pool and restaurant were also nice with great service and amazing views of the city, sunsets and Mandalay Hill in the distance to the north. The best part was the outstanding service from the friendly staff who helped us arrange a car to drive us down to Bagan. When we got to Bagan, I realized that I lost my lens cap somewhere but didn't know where. The next day, the hotel staff in Bagan informed me that Hotel the Haven called saying that they found my lens cap and that they would have it delivered to the hotel in Bagan from Madalay. Now, that is service! I think the name of the employee is "Ma Hnin?" who handled this, so thank you very much Ma Hnin! To the hotel management - please consider this my commendation of Ma Hnin for her excellent customer service. In the grand scheme of things, the value of a lens cap is insignificant, but the lengths that Ma Hnin went to demonstrates how much she cares about her hotel guests and it goes a long long way beyond the cost of the lens cap or the delivery cost. Many thanks again, we will definitely stay here again. My only suggestion for this hotel - please consider expanding traditional Burmese dishes on your restaurant menu and breakfasts. When we are in Mandalay, the heart and soul of Burma, we really want to enjoy Burmese food (of course, we understand other guests may want other cuisines also, but a few more Burmese dishes please, thank you in advance).

My husband and I spent a week at Hotel the Haven and really enjoyed the property and the location even though it is not in downtown Mandalay. The room was really well decorated and we had a small balcony looking out over the entrance of the hotel. The room size was excellent and the shower very spacious. The breakfast was very good and there is a bar on the top (5th) floor by the pool where the view of the sunsets was amazing. Food is also served there and we took advantage of that on a couple of occasions. The staff was very helpful and helped us to arrange a car for our drive to Bagan. It is necessary to take a taxi or a tuk tuk to most sites and restaurants but the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and encourage others to try it.

I rearly give hotels a 5 rating, but this hotel deserves it. The room are really big and shining clean. There are coffe and tea at the rom, and also a working safe plus a fridge. The rooms also have an exelent place for the suitcases. The staff is topp and arrange tours, car, almost everything you ask for is provided. Breakfast and other meals are good. And on top of the building is a small pool with a good view, a bar and sunbeds. A very airy place during the hot Mandalay days and nights. The hotel is located in a silent side street, a bit away from the senter but closer to The Mandalay Hill, which was important for us. Bu the way, there are aleays Tuk-Tuks outside the hotel. Some people would find the beds a litte bit too hard, but we all found them fine. Wi-Fi is a little slow as in all Myanmar.
