We stayed as a pair of friends at the Hilton for two nights. The hotel is a pleasant 40 minute drive from the airport, and is located across the street from the city walls, shops and restaurants. We settled on this hotel because of the location, which honestly could not be in a more ideal place. Despite being next to the Main Street, it is quiet and offered us a relaxing stay. Check in was smooth, our room was not yet ready so they stored our luggage for us while we went out and explored a little bit. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was in the villa part of the hotel, and it was large with a generous king sized bed and comfortable pillows. There is plenty of storage space and the bathroom is quite spacious as well; the room had a really grand feel to it with calming decor and warm lighting. We enjoyed breakfast here, which had a great selection of continental as well as being able to make requests such as French toast etc The hotel is clean and tidy, the housekeepers do a great job keeping everything tidy and clean. Overall: 5 stars ( a fantastic experience )

Hotel's Favourite
This is a great hotel with a perfect location just outside Pile Gate. It’s close to everything. Rooms are large and comfy. Bathrooms have lots of light and large fluffy towels - not the postage stamp size towels that most hotels use. The breakfast buffet was great, with lots of choices and they made eggs, French toast or waffles to order. When they found out it was our 25th anniversary they even sent us champagne. You can’t choose a better hotel.

Huge thank you for an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff, the hotel, the food and location were perfect. On our arrival, we met Martina Vlajki, Guest Relations Manager - who gave us a warm welcome, exactly what we needed on arrival after travelling - a friendly face. Marina on Reception was very helpful and made check-in very easy for all of us. Nikolina during our evening meal was so engaging and friendly, chatting to my son all things nintendo - he loved that :-) and again, great service at breakfast too! Dominik during our evening meal on our first night, offered great service and was very attentive, me and my husband's wine glass was never empty :-), and finally Tomo, who makes the most amazing cocktails on the bar and always with a smile!! Thank you for a lovely memorable experience!!

- Location: How does Hilton improve their location in Dubrovnik any better than the Grand Hotel Imperial? You can’t! Sure there are smaller inns and apartments actually inside Old Town, but for a points hotel, this is the best of the best in the city location-wise. A minute walk to Pile Gate and the wonders of the walled city. - Atmosphere: With such a stately exterior exuding historic early 1900s vibes, I knew before entering that the ambiance would equate to such. The halls are shiny and palatial, and the decor is elegant and classic. Everything feels retro yet kept-up well and modern at the same time. Do note: If you’re assigned to or would like to stay on a high floor (e.g. floors 2 and higher), it will be necessary to take three different elevators if you have reduced mobility or have heavy luggage. This is simply due to the design of the property and is obviously not the hotel’s fault, but it will take a bit of time to travel from the reception to your room. - Amenities: There’s a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner (only from 7-9pm, though…a pattern I noticed at both hotels I chose in Dubrovnik), which features a gorgeous terrace overlooking Old Town and the water. The lobby bar takes care of food and drink needs throughout the day, but I never ordered anything. There’s also a gift shop, fitness center, pool, spa, meeting rooms, and room service, just to name a few of the many amenities available. Previous reviews mention spotty Wifi, but I didn’t have that issue anywhere in the hotel. - Service: The personnel working the property treated me very well and were extremely professional and attentive. They tried their best to assist when I realized I forgot my charging cord at my last hotel, but unfortunately the front desk was completely out of any charging cords I could borrow for the night. I managed to figure out a solution in the end, though. Any other requests I had throughout my stay were addressed promptly and with a smile. - Room: I appreciated the updated feel of my room combined with the historic elements as part of an older building. A good balance. The bed was comfortable and clean. The biggest downside was that I could hear noise from outdoors in the evening and into the night…I am certainly sensitive to sound, more than the average guest, but I doubt I’m the only one here who might discern noise like I did. - Value: The price I paid for my night’s stay in mid-March (around €80 through Go Hilton) provided me outstanding value for money. I would gladly come back to the Hilton Imperial in the future!

Upon arrival reception were very prompt and courteous, even recognising my wife's birthday and saying happy birthday 🎂. This was lovely. Upon entering the room we were greeted with a bottle of bubbles and petals on the bed. Amazing start! Pros: - Staff (Special shout out to all of the female staff who were above and beyond their make counterparts. So courteous and lovely to us). - Housekeeping (The room was immaculate and cleaned promptly every morning, again very friendly) - Breakfast, good range and not once did they run low on any particular item. Kitchen staff consistently checking stock. Very tasty. -Amazing location. However, our room had a few problems. I have compiled a snag list. Cons: - Temperamental WiFi - Faulty safe - Broken hairdry - The elevator to the restaurant and wellness centre out of order - Shampoo, Shower Gel and Conditioner is locked to the wall, preventing one from testing their head in the bath and requiring you to step out of the shower to retrieve (like a Premier Inn) - No security (The hotel is public and has a gift shop so anybody is welcome to enter the hotel and can access the corridors). - Prior to arrival we were offered a chocolate birthday cake but this did not arrive. -Some seats had stains and overall the hotel looks a bit tired. I did not see any black mould though despite reading this in previous reviews. My major complaint: I did research into Croatia, Dubrovnik and the Hilton, but was not aware that we were not allowed to take the drink out of the room, so when we took the bottle to the bar we were quickly told to go back to the room. I felt very silly that I had missed this rule and totally to blame, but, there are no signs upstairs, in room or with the bubbles to advise not to take out of room. This was not communicated by staff either verbally or writing prior to or during stay. Despite research I cannot find this rule in writing anywhere. There was a sign on floor -1 which we saw at breakfast the following morning but this is poorly placed seeing as the bar and lounge is on floor 0/1 alongside the rooms. I later also found that these bubbles are on offer at breakfast too every morning for all guests, and costs about €4, so whilst it was a nice sentiment, if you can't leave the room and drink it in the bar for your birthday, and if it's free to all guests daily, it's hardly a birthday treat. When I raised this via email to the hotel direct, I received a rather elitist response advising that they recognise they are indeed a fantastic hotel and the bottle was for the room only, not to be taken to the bar or restaurant. Despite this, numerous people were walking in and around the hotel (and streets of Dubrovnik) with alcohol. We just wanted a classy evening in the lounge with our birthday bubbles. I stayed at the Hilton on a small budget. With what I paid, I'd say it was well with it. However, they advertised their standard room rate is €600 per night. I wouldn't pay more than €150 and that's an honest review. If you can get this on an affordable package deal then please go ahead and stay here. I would consider returning if discounted but will more likely choose elsewhere. Overall, I'd rate this a high 3 or low 4 out of 5. I do not think this hotel competes with other 5 star hotels I have stayed in. BUT it's dog friendly so that's a bonus!! Wish we'd brought our pooch now:)

One of the best hotels I've been in but sadly has third world WiFi. Rooms are amazing & smell so good. Beds are comfortable & rooms are so spacious. Food is very good and the staff are brilliant. But again the WiFi being so bad is a downer. My partner was here 6/7 years ago and it was the same & if they promise WiFi they should supply it

Beautifully period-decorated hotel. The cascade, interior public space, and rooms were beautiful. Great location for sightseeing. Staff very helpful and friendly, from dining to front office to Executive lounge. We were there oin shoulder season so price/points were acceptable- guessing it's crazy in high season. Pool was closed but looked OK- nothing special.

Hilton Dubrovnik is absolutely magnificent, fantastic location, the best hotel location in the city and all the facilities are top-notch, spotless. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay, it was simply amazing. The view from the room I they have upgraded me to as a diamond member (grateful) is incredible and even sitting on the balcony was quiet. The room is overlooking The Game of Thrones castle, with dramatic night view, please note, the room and lounge is worth the upgrade, if you are not Hilton Honours member, as Dubrovnik is expensive and this is one of the nicest lounges. The AC worked properly, ensuring a comfortable stay. The room was always spotless, evening turndown service with little Croatian bajadera chocolate on pillows makes the bedtime super comfortable. It’s the little touches and staff attentiveness that makes this hotel feel like home away from home. The reception, breakfast and executive lounge staff are so friendly, helpful and efficient, making the stay completely stress free. Damir was exceptional at breakfast, Bakir, both Nikolina’s, Katarina at check in, so grateful for all the attentiveness. We look forward to staying at this magnificent place next time! Highly recommend the hotel. Highlights: - Loved hiking the Srj, easy hike behind the hotel, ask concierge for the directions, so much nicer than taking the cable car. After every climb, the most beautiful views. - Lovrijenac - The Game of Thrones castle is opposite, discover the small city beach, protected by rocks, Buza beach, you can try kayaking tours from there, less commercial and it is probably the most unique. - Located just outside of the Old Town wall, Beach Buza basically sits on a cliff between the Old Town wall and the sea, you can enter the beach and the bar through a hole in the Old Town wall - Cafe BARD again tricky to find, but once you do, you’ll always go back Go in the evening for drinks with views, enjoy good house music and gaze at the sea.
