I echo most of the reviews about this hotel - great location, friendly staff, convenient bus runs to the old town, sea views are outstanding, entertaining boardwalk area (restaurants, nice movie theatre, beach access, arcade-like area for kids) - but what isn't discussed much (but...More
It’s nice to stay in the core of busy tourist meccas like Dubrovnik, but I’ve come to appreciate a quiet gem outside the commotion when I can find it. If you come to Dubrovnik in high season, bear in mind that they are now beginning...More
Usually hotels in very popular tourist destinations do not offer the best service or value for money because they are always quite full and they don't have to. I was a bit suspicious that this might be the case in hotel Kompas as well.

This is a great hotel, especially for the money. Friendly helpful staff, excellent spacious rooms and a very good breakfast. The location couldn't be better - wonderful sea/bay views, a short walk to the bus to take to the Old Town and very close to...More

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am glad to hear you had such a wonderful stay with us and hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back.
The hotel is fairly new, beautifully decorated in modern art, well located, and efficiently run. Everything was really good - we were apart of a 16 person group, and they handled all of the details perfectly. The hotel is built into a hillside - taxis...More

There were families with young children there when we stayed but it was out of the school holidays. The hotel seemed to welcome them but I would be concerned about young children around the pool area unless they could swim. No children's pool. All the children we saw were well behaved. The breakfast buffet would have gone down well with my two grandsons aged 7& 5.

Eating half board would probably be slightly cheaper but then we enjoy experiencing different types of restaurants .There is a small restaurant overlooking the bay beside the hotel .We went there for a light lunch and then dinner one evening .Cost about £80 for dinner. Generally my husband had a starter and we both had a main course and a bottle of wine .
You must make a reservation at Orsan .This restaurant is in a beautiful setting and within walking distance or taxi if you prefer. The hotel concierge will book this for you .Again the cost is about £80 to £100 . Really worth a visit . Taxi to Dubrovnik Old town costs about £20 or 35 kuna by bus about £4.
We ate there a few times .Again round about £100 .
It is expensive to eat in Dubrovnik
