The pros are the hotel interior is nice, the rooms are well appointed, the staff are nice and friendly and the housekeeping is good. The hotel is situated on a high hill above a bay below and behind it is a busy main road. There are very steep steps down to the harbour where the cafes and restaurants are. Walking down is fine but walking back up is difficult especially during the warmest parts of the day. Some rooms will have a decent view of the bay but there are some awful looking apartment blocks obstructing the view and over looking the pool area. The food in the hotel is 4/10 but because of the isolated location the restaurant is busy Breakfast is €18 and dinner is €28 for buffet. Quality is not great but cheaper than general Dubrovnik prices. A bus or taxi is required for the old town. The location is probably the main drawback, not easy to shop for essentials or alternative food choices without a taxi home.

Dear GavF_12, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Hotel Adria. We’re pleased to hear you appreciated the hotel’s interior, well-appointed rooms, friendly staff, and quality housekeeping. We acknowledge your concerns regarding the location. While the elevated position provides panoramic views, it can indeed present challenges for guests exploring the surrounding area on foot. For convenience, we recommend utilizing taxis or the nearby bus service, which many guests find efficient. Your feedback about the dining experience is noted, and we’ll pass this on to our culinary team to work on enhancing the quality of our offerings. We hope the overall comfort and service you experienced will encourage you to consider visiting us again in the future. Kind regards, Hotel Adria Team

Great hotel! I would stay here again for their great staff that are willing to help and answer all questions and for the great views of the ferry harbor.

I stayed in a room with a view and the views were wonderful even though there are tall buildings on each side. The room was comfortable with a small refrigerator and replenished bottle water. Thank-you. I really enjoyed the balcony. There was enough room to sit outside and enjoy fresh air and the wonderful views. At the end of the day, it was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine.

Breakfast was amazing. The staff worked so hard to keep food replenished, tables clean, and keep coffee pots filled. I did not have dinner at the hotel because of the great restaurants in town.

The location was high on the hill, but I ended up taking Ubers to the Gate and Harbor and restaurants. Quick pickup and all drivers knew the hotel for pickup and drop-off. All fares were under 8 Euros.

If you are not planning on getting a car and intend to be on foot for your trip then do not book this hotel - you will have 500 steps to go up and down. In hindsight, quality of the location outweighs the quality of the hotel because it can disturb your plans.

The hotel itself is great which comes with great views (if you can ask specifically for a room with a view of the city or even pay additional - it really is worth it. Rooms come with a standard TV with the option to watch Netflix or Prime, a mini fridge, a safe and AC which all work well and maintained without a problem. We got the half board package (which covered breakfast and dinner) which I would describe as a 5/10 purely based on the dinner selection not quality (must note it is very cheeky of the staff to offer no drinks and leave you to buy drinks at dinner under the half board package). The dinner options have no variety of veg food whatsoever. This could be based on cultural/past guests or just arrogance. However, if you request a veg dish, the best they will do is give a meatless version of an existing dish. There were many times where we spotted that labels were misplaced, causing food with meat to be under veg only for the staff to be very dismissive of.
The 2 pools and jacuzzi are good and well maintained. The outdoor pool was my favourite personally because of the view that comes with it along with being able to take in nice breeze. The gym element actually surprised me, the hotel have an extensive range of equipment from cables, pull up/dip bars and weights. It could get busy depending on the time you go but personally going after breakfast I didnt feel it got crowded and had comfortable access to it.

Hotel Adria in Dubrovnik offers an exceptional experience with its outstanding breakfast, breathtaking views, and top-notch facilities. The true highlight, however, is the amazing staff, who are incredibly helpful and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. While it's a bit of a walk to the old town, affordable Uber rides make it convenient to explore the historic city. Highly recommended for a delightful stay in Dubrovnik.

Hotel Adria is a medium sized clean eight story modern establishment perched high above Gruz Port. Reception is on the second level from top with the Restaurant above it and with the bedrooms and other facilities spread over six levels below reception. Our room was spacious and well fitted and our balcony had a splendid view out over the Port. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. The range of foods served in the buffet style breakfasts and dinners in the Restaurant was good and constantly replenished, and the house wines were very good value. The splendid sunset views from the Restaurant made dinners particularly enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to intending visitors. One word of warning however ! If arriving by ferry, regardless of what Google maps may suggest do NOT attempt (as we did !) to walk to Hotel Adria ! The vertical rise is just over 100m (330ft) and, as we later found out, the No 3 bus passes by the front door.

Great location just out of the city walls.

We stayed in a Dubrovnik heatwave and it was so nice to get out of the old town and into a modern hotel which had a 5 star infinity pool to relax by.

We got Ubers into town because they were much better value than taxis. However if you want to get up to panarama for the sunset, the hotel will call a taxi because Uber drivers will cancel when they realise they’ve got to get up the hill!

Rooms were a little tired and the air-con was temperamental however for a 4 day stay it was more than adequate.

Great trip and lovely staff.

7.8/10

Hotel located in an area a little behind the shops.
Superb view of the port, however it is surrounded by 2 filthy buildings which generally spoil the view.
It is possible to reach the port on foot by taking the steps (easy to go down but sporty to go back up)
Otherwise, Uber allows you to travel very quickly between €7 and €9 to the city center.
The hotel offers a generous buffet breakfast.
In the evening the meal is also in the form of a buffet, it is quite good but very expensive, especially in terms of the price of drinks (generally this is the case throughout the city).
The rooms are spacious and clean.
Indoor and outdoor swimming pools (be careful, it is not heated)
The hotel offers various massages and treatments.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Adria in Dubrovnik and miss it already.

Although our room wasn't available upon early arrival, the hotel offered a place to store our luggage, and we enjoyed a meal on the Apertif bar terrace whilst we waited. The views from this terrace and also the infinity pool a few levels below were breathtaking, especially at sunset overlooking the Gruž sea front, Lapad, and the Elafiti islands in the distance.

Our room, while fairly basic, was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony offering a view of the port (despite the partial obstruction of an ugly building). The outdoor and indoor pools were great, and we always found sun loungers without feeling crowded. There was a pool bar which served drinks, food and ice cream which was convenient.

Breakfast at the hotel was buffet style with enough choices for a few days, and we appreciated the option of ordering a breakfast box for our early morning day trip on one of the days. We also dined in the hotel restaurant on two evenings, opting for the Al la carte menu, as the buffet food on offer didn't look appetising. This proved to be a great decision. The sea bass I had was cooked to perfection, and their portion sizes were generous. The staff we encountered were all friendly and polite.

While there isn't much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, a steady walk leads to Dubrovnik old town in about 25 minutes, and there are steps nearby that descend to the Gruž seafront with its numerous restaurants and bars. There's a lot of steps, probably over 100, so these may not be suitable for everyone.

Dear MatthewB, thank you for sharing your experience at the Hotel Adria in Dubrovnik. It sounds like you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed many aspects of the hotel. We are glad to hear that even though your room wasn't available upon early arrival, the hotel provided a place to store your luggage and you were able to relax and enjoy a meal on the Aperitif bar terrace while you waited. The views from both the terrace and the infinity pool must have been stunning, especially during sunset overlooking the Gruž sea front, Lapad, and the Elafiti islands. It's great to know that your room, although basic, was clean and comfortable, and you appreciated the small balcony with a view of the port. The outdoor and indoor pools were also a highlight for you, and you found the pool area spacious enough to relax on the sun loungers without feeling crowded. The convenience of the pool bar, serving drinks, food, and ice cream, was an added bonus. We are glad to hear that breakfast at the hotel offered a buffet with enough choices to satisfy you for a few days. The option of ordering a breakfast box for your early morning day trip was a nice touch. Additionally, dining in the hotel restaurant proved to be a great decision, as the à la carte menu offered delicious options, including the perfectly cooked sea bass you enjoyed. It's great that the staff you encountered were friendly and polite, adding to the overall positive experience. While the immediate vicinity of the hotel may not have had much to offer, it's good to know that a steady walk of approximately 25 minutes led you to Dubrovnik Old Town. The nearby steps descending to the Gruž seafront, with its numerous restaurants and bars, provided alternative dining options and entertainment. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we hope your memories of your stay at the Hotel Adria in Dubrovnik continue to bring you joy. Kind regards, Hotel Adria Team

The hotel is well equipped, pleasant staff, well located for the view but not for access. Two bus lines to get there, one of which only operates in the morning: 3 and 3A with frequencies of one hour. The restaurant: we had dinner the first two evenings in the large restaurant where the choice in the buffet was varied, then the last 2 evenings in the smaller restaurant (the large one was closed??? fewer people at the hotel I suppose) where the choices in the buffet were very very limited. Our English roommates (of an advanced age though) drunk every night, disturbed our sleep (and that of the neighbors) the first 2 nights until I got angry the 3rd: no respect for these people!! ! They were still drinking white wine at 5 a.m. and talking very loudly. In short, mixed opinion, I would not recommend this hotel to one of my relatives.
