Really enjoyed our time at the Slavija, however in retrospect we should have stayed longer. The location is great, close to the water yet set inside the old city. You will have to walk a little with luggage, as the old city is a pedestrian only area, however it is worth it. The check in was easy - very friendly...

Sadly we could only book one night in this old Venetian-style Palace / Hotel situated just inside Diocletian's ancient Roman Palace complex. It was an easy 'trundle' from the Split-Vis Ferry as us two 'oldies' lugged our cases along the Quay to the Esplanade / Riva, up the marble stairway and into the entrance hall. What a friendly and uncomplicated...

We booked this hotel directly and were not disappointed. Built into the walls of the Diocletian palace it is chic and smart. The location is excellent, deep in the old city. It is surrounded by charming squares and good eating places. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choices and good food. The restaurant on the ground floor occupies what was...

This is a bike friendly hotel with a great deal of quality. The location is brilliant, just off the wonderful harbour front and just inside the old city walls. Before the trip, the staff were very helpful with information about transfers, ferries, even how to avoid paying for bikes on the ferries by putting them all into a van. Mirjana...

Loved this hotel! It is situated right in the heart of town and is easily accessible from both ferry stop and airport bus. I took the airport bus from Split airport for 5€ one way,and is about 10-15 walk from the terminal. It is a bit hard to find initially as they are apparently not allowed to post any signs...

Hotel staff were extremely helpful the breakfast was delightful fresh hot food to order. Our room was on the 4th floor and although it was small the outside terrace more than made up for the lack...

We stayed here last year, the flight gets in too late to go further- we had our son with us and we were given a lovely family room- we were very happy. When we checked out they gave us their card and said contact us direct for better prices next time. (We had booked with booking.com) So this year we...

We arrived in a pleasant environment with such ease and no hassle . It's located in the original Diocletian palace which is centrally located to all facilities . Although difficult to find but with the use of google maps it was not an issue.😀😀👍👍👍

I really wanted to like this place. It's in an ancient building, with creatively renovated rooms which are small but manageable. Very convenient, right in the old town, 1 block from the seafront promenade and with right in the midst of restaurants and nightspots. If you're in Split for partying and planning to stay up late, you may rate it...

Stayed here for a night before a Sail Croatia cruise. Loved being in the centre of the action, beautiful view of the bell tower, the festive sounds from the bustling restaurants below all added to the charm of our Split experience. The staff were welcoming, breakfast room and food and service wonderful, and overall a memorable stay. Would definitely return...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Slavija is type of a heritage hotel due to its location, history and protection by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and UNESCO. The Diocletian's Palace was built in the middle of the 3rd century AD, while the Hotel Slavija was built inside its walls, above the Emperor's western baths. Therefore, it can be concluded that the building of the hotel influenced the protection of the Baths from the devastation. With time the building of the hotel expanded, and from the Baroque palace it became today's Hotel Slavija. Hotel Slavija is under the protection of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and in part is protected by the UNESCO. The location in the very center of the town makes Hotel Slavija an ideal choice for a stay in Split, surrounded by all relevant historical buildings of the city of Split, including the Temple of Jupiter, the St. Duje Cathedral, the Milesi palace... It is ideal place for both business and pleasure travelers because of its location. Hotel is situated in the very center of the city and is but a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as from the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. The hotel has 25 rooms and each room is air conditioned, with private bath, hair dryer, satellite TV, Internet connection and direct dial telephone. Some of the rooms are with terraces and Hotel is especially proud to present them because, terraces are rarity in the old part of Split. In the lobby of the hotel is Internet Hot spot, which is free for hotel guests. We also provide faxing, copying, printing and scanning, as well as laundry service. ... more   less
