Located across an alley from the palace and walking distance from buses or taxis, this hotel is in an excellent location. The staff are exceptionally helpful, make sure to call ahead and they will help with your luggage. Rooms are located up 70 steps so be prepared for a stiff climb. Breakfast is included but served inside the palace at...

Location is absolutely perfect and the rooms of a good standard. We had the room with the balcony, and, having seen the rest of them, I would say it is worth the premium. The view is not as great as described but still good, and it is a lovely extra space to enjoy. Together with the seated area, it turns...

Small, clean, friendly B&B within steps of Diocletian's Palace. The rooms are well-appointed, and they have a contract for breakfast with a restaurant in a beautiful location within the walls of the palace. It's easy to miss if you're on your own, but they were waiting for us at the bottom of the building so it wasn't a problem. Don't...

Very good large room in a great location. They emailed me prior to my visit and arranged a taxi for me from the airport and then met me where the taxi dropped me off. The lads were very helpful and friendly throughout. A nice big room with lovely bathroom and large shower. It included a safe, TV and mini bar...

We spent 3 nights at the La Porta and it was great. The room was modern and had a good use of space although small by square footage. The shower was amazing with great water pressure. Breakfast was included in the rate and we loved the cafe. The pros: the location! You are right outside Diocletian's Palace and a short...

The hotel is very clean and beautiful placed in the center of Split. The most impressing thing though is the service level. The host Marin was so thoughtful and helpful - kudos to him. I can only recommend this hotel.

Great location, lovely staff, phenomenal room. Clean and luxurious. Bit noisy due to central location which is totally understandable. Air con really effective. Just needs a lift to be perfect! Highly recommended.

We stayed at La Porta in early July. We could not fault the room - spotlessly clean, great air con, spacious, modern, lovely bathroom with power shower which was needed in 35degree heat. If you have any mobility issues avoid as the rooms are at the top of three flights of stairs!! Our only other complaint was that you could...

Nestled in a terrific spot at the walls of the Palace, our sea facing room had all we could possibly want for our overnight stay. Bathroom was luxurious. Boys on duty were very attentive, giving us ideas on good coffee spots and local restaurants. They were happy to drive us with our suitcases to the Port without cost. Would highly...

Me and my wife stayed at La porta during our travel through Croatia. The personal are awesome, it's almost like having your own butler. They will help you with anything. The room is done with pretty high standard, the shower looks really nice, but the floor feels "cheap". There are also alot of stairs, which is not so fun with...
