We enjoyed a short break at the Briig and would highly recommend it as a sanctuary close to the hustle and bustle of downtown Split. The hotel is convenient to both the city and local beach and served as an excellent base from which to explore.
The service throughout was unobtrusive, polite and professional and there is a very clear cleaning regime in operation in both public and private spaces.
breakfast was relaxed with an excellent buffet selection with an ability to order those special individual things like pancakes etc.

This is an ultramodern hotel with lovely light, great staff, clean if a bit austere rooms, but a breakfast buffet to die for! We found this by chance and asked if their breakfast was open to the public. For $20US we had a gorgeous, healthy, and tasty breakfast, 3 days out of 7( only because we discovered it mid trip).Wed eat, pack a light lunch and away we’d go to enjoy the day.

This hotel has the potential to be superb but falls flat on a few key facilities. Sometimes it's a 3/5 experience and sometimes a 5/5 so went down the middle on the rating. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious, beautifully decorated and panelled, the coffee making faciltes the best we had on our trip, the bed/linen/ toiletries all amazing. All these aspects were 5/5 - superb. But the bathroom has no shower! This is the weirdest thing......Briig order some hooks so you can have a shower! The noise as many other guests have pointed out is an issue, we survived okay being night owls ourselves but I would say if you were looking to relax and get good sleep, be warned. Breakfast, if you get in early is superb! If you come down later in the morning, a car crash. I can see how there are mixed reviews. First morning we came down, waited for about 30min to even get a coffee, well over an hour for breakfast. The waitress told us it's because everyone comes down together so next morning we came an hour earlier. Different experience. We came early for the next three mornings and had superb breakfasts every day.
We didn't use the pool in the end, we went up one day and people were almost on top of one another, looked like a crowd of seals on a beach. My advice to the hotel, as the pool is small, they should operate a booking service so everyone has a chance to use it while they are there. I think any negatives are easily resolvable they just need to work on them.

The reason for our 3 star score is that there are some really good things and some really bad things about the Briig Boutique Hotel. The best thing by far about the Briig is the staff, every member of staff on reception and in the bar and dining room was extremely helpful and friendly during our 7 night stay, a special mention to Aldo on reception and Ava at breakfast who treated us like old friends, first class friendly service with a smile! The hotel itself has a good modern feel and there was a good selection of hot and cold dishes at breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant on the live music night, the food and service were excellent, with a great selection of local wines, all reasonably priced. Now for the not so good, bearing in mind that we paid in excess of £400 per night for bed and breakfast we expected a certain standard. The bedrooms can only be described as "adequate" they have basic furniture and do not have USB ports (the hotel was only built in 2019). We were only left one bottle of water in the room (no water glasses) when we first arrived, surely at the price they charge per night and the fact that it was over 35 degrees every day they should have put a bottle of water and two water glasses in the room each day. We were also disappointed that there were young children (around 5 years old) shouting and jumping in and out of the swimming pool, we were informed by our tour operator that the hotel didn't allow children under 12 years old, this obviously wasn't the case and our two afternoons by the pool weren't as "relaxing" as we'd hoped. Now for the worst thing about the hotel... there is a nightclub a few hundred metres along the beach. If you are staying in a sea view room the music and loud voices can be heard until around 4am when the club closes. The partygoers then congregate on the beach outside of the Briig hotel and carry on partying until around 5.30am. After two nights without sleep we asked to be moved to a room at the back of the hotel, the staff duly obliged and the noise levels were much improved. We were fortunate that the hotel wasn't full and they were able to move us to a different room, I'm not sure what would happen when the hotel is fully booked. And one final note, the hotel allows dogs in the hotel, barking could be heard through the walls in the rooms.

We can say that the architectural and design aspect of the hotel are amazing. But there are some scratches and dirt on the walls which haven't been cleaned or removed for weeks.

Problem No. 1
Right after check-in we complained at the reception about our bathtub which wasn't working, cause the plug was missing and the water tap was loose. They told us that first thing in the morning they would look for a solution. But nothing happened.
Also there is no shower head bracket which would allow you to take a normal shower. We therefore couldn't bath nor could we enjoy a normal shower.

Problem No. 2
At our second day we sat at the pool on the rooftop. A lot of used dishes were just lying around and no staff there to clean them up. After we ordered a Club sandwich, which was actually really good, but took them about an hour to make and as it arrived it was already cold.
The Pool area is awfully small for such a big hotel.

Problem No. 3
At our last day we went to the breakfast buffet. We know that the level of service professionalism is not comparable with any other touristic country. But when you pay 330€ a night it can be expected to be good. The staff was very unfriendly. They made no effort to serve us until we actually had to walk up to them and ask to be served. This took 10min. After 30min we got our coffee, it was cold. After 50min we got our omelette and the fried egg that we ordered. Both of the dishes where cold. After complaining to the waitress she did not make any effort to excuse the poor quality of service. She got aggressive and left.
Ow and for those who are travelling to Croatia, don't expect any good orange juice. That stuff tastes like Gatorade even in the expensive hotels.

Problem No. 4
As there is currently a pandemic going on as you all know the staff doesn't comply with any covid rules. The hand sanitisers are all empty and the staff is either not wearing any protection or wearing it under their chin.

After staying in a few, more expensive spots in different parts of Croatia, this hotel was a welcomed surprise. It is very modern and looks nothing like the buildings around it. At checkin, we were treated to a nice shot of fresh juice and a towel and had lunch in the main restaurant while our room was being prepared (we showed up early). Everyone from checkin to the restaurant servers were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. The food and the drinks are delicious as well. We had the a salad, burger and fries for lunch. Cocktail menu is nice and the bartenders can make most anything you want. The breakfast buffet was included in our room rate and very fresh daily with lots of options and even menu items to order. The pool area is small on the roof and usually busy but this was not as important to us as we just came from Hvar where we had a lot of pool and beach time. We walked from Briig to the city center (10-15 mins) each evening for dinner and drinks. Very safe and easy walk if not too hot outside, otherwise Ubers are easy and affordable. There is also a small gym I used which has the basic equipment I needed and the hotel offers morning yoga by the pool two mornings a week. Our room was really nice, spacious with lots of closet space and a comfortable bed. In the bathroom I appreciated the large counter space with two sinks and lots of room to spread out products for two people and a large tub/shower. We will be back!!!

The Briig is an absolutely beautiful hotel. From the moment you step inside you are greeted with sweetly perfumed air and a light and airy reception. The staff at front desk were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a room with a lovely view of the sea and a window that fully opens so as to enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the heart of Split - perfect if wanting to walk off a meal. It feels like a quiet paradise away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast is very well presented but we were initially not notified that there is a breakfast menu that we could order from - it was strangely hidden away from guests. We are also not initially asked if we wanted coffee or tea and thought that we had to get our own from the basic coffee machine. There was an actual coffee machine that we eventually noticed and had to ask someone for a coffee. The air conditioning is also controlled from reception - but they are happy to set it to whatever temperature you desire . The room we booked had a large kind bed and as I was traveling with a friend, they were nice enough to equip the bed with separate bedding for each of us .

We booked the Briig based on location, reviews and room types.
The architecture and the feel of the modern building is excellent. Staff in general were friendly.
The superior double room with city views was value for money. Clean, good size and quiet.
The penthouse suite with hot tub was a completely different story.
We arrived, checked in and went to the rooms. The hot tub cover was still on and when we removed it, the water was scolding hot. Called the reception and they turned it down. Most probably off as the next time we checked , the water was very cool to say the least. When i checked a previous review from May, there was a similar issue.
Next was the AC. We were asked what temperature we wanted the room to be at before arrival. Bit strange. The reason being, its not possible to adjust the temp in the room. Has to be done from reception. In the four days we spent in the hotel, we called 3 times to request the temp to be reduced to 24C. It never got below 26C.
For the rate we expected to get water in the room. One bottle per stay and additional at over 4 Euros each. A small pot of milk for a cup of tea made with the room kettle was 5 Euros. Well, we presume that was the cost, the check out desk couldnt confirm what the charge was for, but as we hadnt taken anything from the mini bar, we presumed it was for the milk.
The towels in the room were limited also. Had to call to get them changed on one day.
We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was OK. Service a bit below average and variety of food limited.
The duty manager apologized when we checked out and informed me that she had attempted to call me the previous day regarding my issues, but we were out. For a boutique, or any hotel for that matter make only one attempt to contact their guests, bearing in mind the hotel only had 2 penthouse suites i found very poor service.
The manager went on to inform me that the hotel opened in 2019 and suffered 2 years of Covid and was now recovering. My response was that to try and recoup a significant portion of the losses from one stay was beyond belief.
Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Briig and would recommend anyone considering the penthouse suites (P01 at least) to contact the hotel prior to booking and make sure the AC & hot tub are both in working order.

Firstly the hotel looks amazing. That’s the positive.
The negatives include; breakfast staff ignoring us for half an hour, not clearing tables, not having plates or glasses for the buffet and total disregard for any Covid protocol.
The hotel claims it has a rooftop pool - it doesn’t.
The pool area had bottles and glasses lying about all day.
My wife had a massage which reception said was going to be 50 mins and it was only 30 mins.
They seem to think having an arty hotel is good enough - they need better and more engaging staff and maybe just a few more members of staff.
They can make this amazing with better, more engaging staff but at the moment it’s just not up to scratch compared to their neighbour, Hotel Park.

This hotel had only recently opened. The room was really good and lovely.
The service in the morning at breakfast wasn’t as good as the service they offered at dinner.
For breakfast we ordered a la carte eggs and they were often cold. The service was slow and not so kind. But in the afternoon and evening the services was excellent. The dinner was very good and they were very kind.
