Antigua is a lovely city and Posada Los Bucaros is a lovely hotel. On the outside it doesn't seem to be much but this is the way it is in Central Antigua. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre. You do not need transport. In spite of this close proximity it is very quiet. The young receptionist...

We bring groups to Antigua 3X per year and always stay at Posada Los Bucaros. This mid-range, centrally located, property offers more amenities than many higher cost hotels. The level of cleanliness is unsurpassed from the maintenance of the guest rooms to the common courtyards and dining areas. The 24-hour staffing insures a quiet and safe environment. We wouldn't consider...

This hotel is essentially a backpacker hotel and for $50 a night, you get what you pay for. The rooms are dark and Spartan, and it is very noisy. It is a mosquito paradise. The window openings in the bathrooms are just that, unscreened, no glass and open to the outside. I took a shirt and taped it over the...

Los Bucaros is well situated (near Fernando's!), clean & tidy, friendly and affordable. Included wifi, decent meals and a nice inner court to relax in round out a decent if not luxurious experience. Only (minor) downside was noise: poor sound insulation with neighbours and our close proximity to the kitchen meant this is not as sound-proof as one typically expects...

We stayed in their second hotel which is one block west of the main hotel. We were with an Toucan group and this was the allocated hotel. It is a modest place and our room only had windows on to the internal corridor and small courtyard. This made it stuffy as no windows opened. There was good hot water, good...

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Tucan Travel tour of Central America. It's a beautiful hotel. The lobby and sitting areas are lovely- there are little courtyards with fountains and shrubs. The whole place is so well kept. It's extremely clean- the girls working here are meticulous! They never stop cleaning! The place looks fantastic and is absolutely spotless....

Comfortable and quaint! Clean hotel with nice courtyard. Bring earplugs in case there is a party room nearby. Good breakfast place nearby if you don't buffet at the hotel. Nice veranda to sit and read or play cards.

We visited this hotel as the starting point for our recent Central American tour. The location was good - far enough away from the busy part of town but easy (and safe) walking distance for all the main attractions. There are plenty of bars and eating places nearby and there is a beautiful square with lots of good, cheap street...

This is a cute hotel for a great price! Centrally located in Antigua, it is short walk from great restaurants and landmarks. The decor is very nice and feels antique. We only stayed one night but it was a great time.

After many flight delays, it was a relief to arrive at Los Bucaros, and be welcomed by friendly, helpful staff. I actually really liked the layout of the hotel, with the courtyard and water feature, and felt very secure staying there. I've read other's comments about the noise, and to be honest it wasn't really an issue for me, but...
