Quite a basic hostel but fine for what you pay. Staff are a local family and are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the upstairs bathroom was pretty dirty and hasn't been cleaned properly in a long time. But again it's a very cheap hostel so you can deal with these imperfections

The price and the owner Raul are the best parts of this place but there are lots of things to like such as breakfast included with coffee, well equipped kitchen, good wifi, comfortable common area, hot showers and good security. Raul gave us great advice for things such as climbing acatenango ie he recommended a company in town for an...

One of the best atmosphere's of any hostel I've stayed in, which to me is the most important thing in a hostel. The rooms are basic and clean, the communal area is brilliant, with one long dining table which makes communal meals very easy. The best thing about the hostel though is Raul, the owner. He seemed to genuinely care...

I have spent over ten years of my life studying, working, or travelling in over fifty countries. Raul (the causally mellow yet concerned and professional host) is a key part of what makes A Place To Stay one of the top ten hostels I have experienced. Grounds are quiet and secure and excellent value for money. Raul will help you...

I booked for 3 nights and stayed 2 months. Once again, need I say more??? Raul, the owner/manager told me to make myself at home when I first entered and I said to myself "right". It was the most comfortable hostal in 8 months of backpacking

My friend and I were planning to stay at this hostel for 2 nights, three weeks later we have finally and grudgingly left. It was without a doubt the most welcoming and friendly hostel I have ever stayed in. The hostel is run by Raoul who is extremely helpful and informative - the perfect host. His brother Fernando is always...

Raul is great, very hospitable. Takes really good care of the people that come to his hostel. Breakfast in the morning is a good pick me up. Will definitley be staying here again, especially for the price.

If you prefere family atmosphere and enjoy spending time with friendly people it is your place. Raul, the owner is such a nice guy and always a helping hand. His hostal is quite simple but you will find all what you need. It is near the artisan and food market and close by the center. We loved his four cats...

Close to the market, it's easy to go visit Antigua from this place and if you're not leaving early in the morning, you could enjoy the breakfast (eggs+bread). Cold shower, horrible mattress, wifi only on the living room and not in the room, we haven't had a good stay there.
