Good location, clean and nice room, but not so big. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful - additionally not speaking English. Hostel for people who like peace and quiet. Curfew in force since 22 hours. Generally a bit expensive.

Clean, comfortable and super professional staff. They make your bed, give you a fresh towel and clean your room and bathroom daily. A great upstairs terrace area and the best kitchen of any hostel I've stayed at. Only downside is the terrace closes at 9pm, but with such a great location there's ample bars etc within a few minutes' walk....

Location was good, just a few minutes' walk from the main square. The room was clean and well-equipped with ensuite bathroom. The staff were very helpful - I wanted to extend but they were full the following day so found somewhere else for me. Good value and I'd certainly stay again.

Great, quiet little hostel a stones throw from town center. Comfortable beds, strong hot showers and friendly helpful staff. Definite recommendation if you like a good night's sleep. Great, fully equipped kitchen upstairs.

Nice staff, great location, hot showers and nice roof top. Safe lockers. The kitchen desperately needs a range of sharp knives! And butter knives. 12 person dorm was noisy, buy what do you expect! Would stay again if they had the smaller dorms available.

Hostal Antigua is in a fantastic location but sadly our stay was interrupted. After our first night, my partner and I woke with bites all over our backs, arms and legs. I had over 80 in total and my partner had about half that. We were in the private room so I'm sure the dorm rooms are fine. Christian at...

This is a serious statement and we took all precautions, which was to fumigate the room 3 times over a week period without renting the room. We are assured there are no bed bugs. We were also told by the pest company that bed bug bites usually take 2 to 3 days to show up after the initial bites. So,...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this 17th century Spanish style hotel. Huge rooms with small private garden (a hammock included) on the ground floor room. The food is famous in this hotel. 5 blocks away from Antigua Central Park.

We loved this hostal but I think it depends on what you are looking for. It was vey affordable, quiet and central for our family of 4. The first night we stayed in a dorm room with 4 beds and then switched to 2 private rooms. Honestly, we spent all of our time exploring and only used hostel to sleep...

Woke up at 3am for the 4am airport shuttle, and found these nasty creatures crawling on the sheets. So disgusted and worried about spreading them to my home. I stayed at a different property of the same owner and it was nice and clean, and I didn't see evidence of bugs there. When they didn't have available rooms, they referred...

I had been travelling for 17 hours on shuttle and got there and they were probably a bit too strict for my liking. Couldn't even go to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea before bed as it shuts ridiculously early. Though I must say it is a clean, safe and reliable Hostal. I just didn't enjoy my...

Thank you for your review. We are strict with closing the kitchen at 10pm so the other guest are not disturbed. We are not a party hostel and want to be respectful of all our guest. As far as the smoking, we are just following the Guatemalan law that you can not smoke inside public businesses. So, this reviewer should...
