These apartments are clean, well serviced apartments. They are probably from the 70/80’s. However location is fantastic just on the edge of main shopping area, next door to RSL, so great for dining and if you take a chair and sit next to laundry you can pick up free WiFi. Our host Tess was magnificent, could do enough to help us. Laundry has washer and drier with detergent provided for gold coin donation to cover power. There is a convince store 50 m to left of the complex for most basic supplies.

Room Tip: Plenty of parking. We booked a room that had rental car included. Highly recommend getting a car.

Very well located in Burnt Pine, close to most shops and eating places. Our booking, through hotels.com, included airport transfers, a half day island tour and use of a rental car for the entire stay.
Tess, the manager and Serah, her assistant offered a warm welcome and assistance during our stay. Reception is not attended 24/7.
The apartments are older (1970s style and largely unchanged) with wide, shady verandas front and back, the front opening onto a large lawn, colourful gardens and swimming pool.
One-bedroom apartments have a well-equipped kitchen (no dishwasher) adjacent to the living area, a separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Our apartment was clean and comfortable. There is a guest laundry, washer dryer and ironing facilities, $2.00 for each machine.
We kept the apartment windows open night and day to get good airflow, which is essential in this humid climate. A pedestal fan provided adequate cooling on hot days and nights. The slight smell of “damp” we had noticed on entering the closed apartment disappeared quickly. The “damp” smell was present in many buildings on Norfolk.
Air conditioning is very rare; both air conditioning and electric stoves have been banned because of the limited supply and high (72cents/kwh) cost of electricity.
Free wifi is not provided in the apartments, global roaming is not available on Norfolk Island, so Australian mobile phones cannot be used there. Communication is best obtained by buying a prepaid data SIM card from Norfolk Island Telecom. Wifi is available in several places without charge, one of which, the Norfolk island Bowling Club, serves delicious meals.
We would return to Fletcher Christian but if you want the slickest, most modern and 24 hour service, it’s not for you.

We stayed here recently with a toddler and had an amazing time. Tess is an absolutely lovely host who helped us with the few things that popped up during our stay. The rooms are dated but the facilities were functional and clean which was great for a small family. We had a bathroom, large kitchen and balcony to ourselves. The kitchen included a large fridge/freezer and full oven and stovetop as well as the usual appliances and cookware. The pool was beautifully maintained as were the gardens. Our little one enjoyed feeding the wild chickens and roosters on site. We didn't use it but there is a communal BBQ (weber) and seating area under cover and a shared laundry and dry which can be used for a small donation. Location wise this is across the road from the Norfolk Island brewery and a short stroll to Cafes and the Supermarket although there is a gas station which is well stocked if you hang a left from the front of the facility rather than towards town. Our room also came with car hire included. The car was delivered to the airport for us so as soon as we were off the plane we were able to jump in the car. This was appreciated given we were travelling with a little person.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights, arriving at 3PM by rental car from the NLK Airport.
We met a nice housekeeper at reception who led us to the adjoining door with a table and 2 chairs out front and our name on the entry.
Unit #5 opened to a new wood floor with a fully outfitted kitchen, dining table and chairs and living room with couch and TV(perfect reception of several channels. Off the living room is a small back patio with 2 chairs, a table, and a clothesline with pins. Next the carpeted bedroom with a comfortable queen then a fully outfitted tiled bathroom with a tiled shower.
At 5PM, we met the manager who provided a secure WIFI code that extended to our room. The 1960s decor was sparkling clean and provided a quiet night’s sleep but needed the provided blanket at night. Too cold to use the sparkling pool.
We walked a ½ km through the town shops, Bowling Club, Visitor Center and Library, returning to the nice Foodland supermarket.

Top week, the Fletcher Chrisian staff [Lynle and her husband peter] just cant do enough for you,the units are clean and have all the amenities, the laundry is free, not so in other places on Norfolk. It is wlaking distance to town with the R.S.L right next door for good meals and a bit of entertainment. I would highly recommend the Fletcher Christian appartments to anyone travelling to Norfolk island

Just returned from a week on Norfolk Island where we took the opportunity to combine getting married with a holiday. Fantastic place - v friendly people, warm climate, great food (fresh food is all produced on the island). Would highly recommend Fletcher Christian Apartments, good central base, very accommodating manager Lynley for who nothing was too much trouble. Lynley was also a font of all knowledge about restaurants and places to go - she even arranged flowers for our wedding.

Would recommend Norfolk Island as a wedding destination - the Registrars office were very helpful, we simply completed our paperwork in NZ, had it witnessed at the Australian Embassy, emailed it over, and then sorted out everything else on our arrival on Norfolk - stress free, easy and a beautiful location by the beach at Emily Bay.

My second visit to Norfolk Island, and this time stayed at Fletcher Christian apartments in unit 6. This property was built in 1965, and the building materials and general appearance are of this era ( as are many of the buildings and shops around the island ), but we identified upgrades in the kitchen and ensuite bathroom. The unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Linen changed halfway through our stay. Toiletries and hair dryer in bathroom. Microwave, grill, cooktop, fridge, crockery, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper supplied. Gas heater - we didn't use it - extra blankets. A back porch with chairs , clothesline and pegs. Front verandah with tables and chairs. Wifi was available at $5 / hour. Quality TV. We bought a package deal which included a car and some vouchers for local businesses. Walking distance to all the shops, some of the attractions, and lovely eateries. Car used to access Kingston and more distant attractions. Gardens were attractive and well maintained. Staff lovely, and always helpful. All the units were full while we were there. RSL was next door, where we had a lovely meal, another hotel over the road with a restaurant - didn't use that, and a cafe half a block away selling coffee, breakfast and Chinese food, eat in or take away. Upmarket shopping. Numerous tours. Fascinating history. Very nice eateries. Business people were charming and very helpful. I will return !

Fletcher Christian Apartments are not your 5 star property but have everything you need for a weeks stay, the management collected us from airport and were most helpful. The apartments are very centrally located within walking distance of the town, however would recommend a car to explore the island's beauty. Great places to eat especially the RSL next door to the apartments. Enjoyed our stay and took great photos.
