Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In December 2019 we spent 10 days at the ideally located fully contained Crest Apartments on Norfolk Island. Great location, spectacular views, friendly staff and beautiful gardens with lots of birds. The holiday was organized by Spacifica Travel which included car hire and airfares from Brisbane.
Norfolk Island, measuring just 8 kilometres long by 5 kilometres wide, is covered with lush rolling green hills and surrounded by 32 kilometres of stunning coastline. This tiny volcanic outcrop, located over a thousand kilometres east of Australia, couldn’t be more different from the mainland.
It consists of the main island and the two neighbouring islands Phillip Island and Nepean Island. Just 35 square kilometres in size, Norfolk Island is renowned for its jagged cliffs, sand beaches and towering pine trees, but Norfolk's English ancestry is still represented by its heritage buildings and colonial architecture.
Kingston, the capital of Norfolk Island, is the second-oldest in Australia and is of great historical and cultural significance to all Australians. The major shopping centre on Norfolk Island is Burnt Pine located along Taylors Road. The settlement also exists over much of the island, consisting largely of widely separated homesteads.
Norfolk Island is an historic paradise offering a relaxed way of life which evokes a sense of being completely isolated from the rest of the world. There’s just one roundabout, no public transport, no railways or even major roads. Instead, the island is covered with 80 kilometres of laneways.
World Heritage convict buildings, sublime scenery and a unique culture with an intriguing past combine to make Norfolk Island, one of Australia's most fascinating destinations. Settled by descendants of mutineers who speak a mix of Tahitian and 18th century English, it's a friendly place where waving to everyone you pass is mandatory. Livestock have the right of way on roads. Take care and be mindful that the law states if you injure one you will have to compensate the owner.
This is a place which has no fast food outlets, no house numbers and where people can leave their cars and houses unlocked. Tourists visit the island for its peace and quiet, rugged scenery, fascinating history and so many hidden treasures which give Norfolk its character.
Over two hundred and forty years ago Captain Cook described Norfolk Island “as paradise on earth”
Nothing has changed-Norfolk Island is a must see destination which will remain in your memories forever

The Crest Apartments may not be the newest or most luxurious place to stay on Norfolk but we were so happy with our time there. The apartments are very "70s" in decor, but ar clean and well maintained. The kitchen is adequate for a holiday apartment and many extras are to be found in the laundry (such as BBQ equipment).
We loved the location, a short walk to Emily Bay, a lovely view from the front of the property where you can sit on a BBQ table under the pines.
The apartment was what we needed, a quiet place, away from the main town area.

Was a 3 bdrm apartment with plenty of room. Older decor but clean and tidy. Location was good, did need the car that was provided to travel and site see. Wouldn't really matter where you stay on the island you really need a car. The grounds were beautiful with a lovely view from our room (14) towards hills. The ocean view was spectacular across the grounds near the carpark. The chickens kept you entertained climbing the trees to roost at night. Would recommend staying here.

The apartments are in need of some money spend on them, we where there for 8 days and received no room service at all. I did ask half way through about this and was informed that it would probably be done the next day, which it wasn't. Had to go and find clean towels in the laundry room where linen and towel where stored.

Amenities were the same as our previous visits. Comfortable basic clean accommodation. We like the location a few minutes drive from Burnt Pine area.
We were kept awake one night when smoke alarm malfunctioned and went off every 10 minutes. There was no response on after hours number for about 1.5 hours. Eventually resolved after two hours. This tardy response could be improved. Compensation was requested and provided when we complained about the disruption. .

I always recommend people to stay at The Crest. Appartments are so big. Much bigger than where others have stayed - like motel rooms. I loved the fully functional kitchen ( full fridge) separate lounge, bedroom, en suite bathroom and a lovely balcony. Very clean. And a laundry and clothesline. Great location. And the delights of Norfolk Island....... Beautiful. Book with Spacifica. Highly recommend.

Older style apartment, very comfortable, clean and tidy. Beds comfortable, pillows good. Booked a 1 br and delighted to arrive to a 3br upgrade. Great views from balcony over the valley. Everything we needed was there for a weeks stay. View out to Phillip Island amazing. Close to town and all enquiries looked after by the girls on the desk at Governors Lodge. Only downside was the resident rooster lol. Would definitely stay again, quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

We have stayed at the Crest Apartments on two visits to Norfolk Island. The Crest is situated close to town and the Heritage area of Kingstown. A drive down the road over Bloody Bridge brings you to the golf course, Emily Bay, and the convict era Georgian buildings. The apartments have all the amenities for self catering and are clean and tidy. The chooks and chickens add to the surroundings. A car was included in our deal. The staff are friendly and helpful. Want a quiet holiday? This is the place to stay and this is the island to visit.

We have just stayed for a week at Crest apartments, they were quiet, spacious, well equiped with everything need to prepare meals etc. They have a nice bbq area that overlooks Phillip Island, the views are spectacular. They have a laundry fo guests use and when our flight didnt leave until 4pm they offered us late check out. We had bookes a travel package and our car was waiting for us at the apartments, I would highly recommend these apartments .

My husband and I travelled to Norfolk Island in April 2014. We loved the accommodation. Neat , clean, with helpful staff. We could eat in, do our laundry and have a b.b.q if we wanted. The view from here must be one of the best on the Island. I hope to come back again. Tracy P.

Hi, Would like to know if there are views from the Crest Apartments?

We were in apartment #4 and the only view we had was across the valley But it was very peaceful - the cows and feral chooks, the bird life (white terns, green parrots, red parrots) it was just lovely as we relaxed with a glass or 2 of bubbly.

The cooking facilities were fairly basic, but ample to our requirements. There is a microwave, a toaster, a jug for boiling water and a gas stove in a quite small kitchenette but who wants to cook a 3-course dinner when they are on holidays? As I said, ample to our requirements.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to this one. They are very accommodating, but the thought would never enter either my wife's or my mind. (to have single beds, that is).
