I gave the hotel three stars for three main reasons. I will write them after I describe all that's good with the hotel. Panama is cheap, and the JW is no exception. The hotel has very cheap prices; the hotel would probably be priced 3x the amount in the States. The rooms are

Dear claifer: Thank you for selecting the JW Marriott Panama for your recent visit and we appreciate your detailed review. We are pleased to hear you that you enjoyed our spacious and well-appointed guest room with balcony, comfortable beds and our convenience location of our hotel which is located within walking distance to Shopping Mall, Super Market and 20 minutes to Tocumen International Airport. It is also lovely to hear our staff did such a great job welcoming you and taking care of your needs while at the hotel. Unfortunaly, we did not meet your expectations with our romantic stand-alone bathtub. Regarding our pool area, due to summer season in Panama until March, some days we can experience winds which is characteristic in our tropical weather. Once again, we kindly appreciate your feedback helps identify areas of opportunity for us to improve the guest experience and quality service. We hope we'll have the pleasure of hosting you again when you return to JW Marriott Panama. Sincerely, Demetrio Maduro General Manager

I didn't see a Ferry. The ride out to the canal (Agua Claro) took a little over an hour. The ride there and back cost $150.00. The cost to enter the visitor's center and see the locks in action was $15.00 per person.

Since policies can change over time, the best suggestion I can provide is to call the hotel with your specific question.
