Guys, Be aware with Vila Elat! Booked by Booking.com on May 9th and the same day had the confirmation of price (€ 318, or 6.348 MLD) by email. Arrived there late in the evening on 19th, I have been requested to pay in advance. Paid by credit card but they kept the receipt of the VISA because they had to prepare the invoice. The following day the invoice was ready, but the total was 6.930 MLD (650 MLD = 30 €) more than what Booking.com had confirmed. Said this, they replied they work in euros, they have their own rules and they the apply their own change rate different than the current, and finally that the price was what they express in the invoice. Shown on my phone the confirmation email with the original price (318 €), they sent, on May 21, a new email (by Booking.com) saying "Your updated booking at Vila Elat", with the new (higher) price. Unspeakable.…
This place looked like a good option but I am disappointed, mainly of the poor internet throughput and that the radiators were cold on and off. The room was very cold when for some reason the heating was disabled twice during my 6 nights stay. Also the hot water was gone these two days/nights. Besides this, the hotel was ok. The room was nice and breakfast was ok.
When we came it was really hot, I decided to grab a Coke and candy, then when I tried the m&m it wasn't tasty and little strange. I looked at the dates on all the candies and it was all expired. The Coke was fine and I notified the reception that brought new while we were outside. If you plan to watch TV, then the TV is rather small compared to room size and difficult to read text or subtitles. Didn't bother us since we didn't use the TV expect to test it. One thing that bother me little was they always left just one toilet roll in the room, then one that was already open. I always forgot to mention it to the reception and in the end I had this moment when the roll finished, oops. I solved it this time and called the reception waited for 15 minutes until I called again and they brought it. Room was fairly big and comfortable, cooling system worked perfectly. We liked the location for this price, very close to parliament and short way to take bus or just walk to the center. The breakfast wasn't anything special, I felt missing more fresh fruits like melons and stuff. I guess it is also difficult or expensive to have a real great breakfast in so small hotel, but it did provide what you needed in the morning litle bit in the stomach until lunch time. All in all, I would stay there again if I didn't plan to have 3-4 nights stay in Chisinau again.…
the place is clean and with a great location but there are lots of minuses too. Beside breakfast , there is no restaurant in the hotel. Also, whoever decided to decorate the place must be half blind....gave me the feeling i m sleeping in someone s living room. The art is soo bad. Ppl working there are nice and helpful, so if you need a place to stay during one night in the city with no further expectations, this place will do.Plus in april, despite the cold, there was no heating in the rooms.
Older hotel but great value option with big rooms and clean. Nice selection for buffet breakfast. Walking distance to central area and on same road as excellent wine bar - carpe diem. English speaking staff and very friendly. No sign of a pool as advertised though and no food available after breakfast. You can order delivery to hotel though easily.
