We had a nice stay at Hotel Ahar. The place is clean, though very basic, and the staff is sweet and helpful. Only downside is the location, far from the centre of Sarajevo and with very few bars/restaurants (basically none). But you can easily get to the centre and back with the tram.

OK , I'll get it out front , it was a very frustrating stay. The hotel (note lower case) fooled our French GPS and it took two complete circuits to locate the narrow entry point ! Next walk in with bags and it is cash only ! Don't have a lot of B & H dosh on me so have...

Hotel Ahar was nice hotel, located in a suburb far away from the city centre. The neighborhood was quiet with houses. With tram number 3 you can get here in 25minutes from the city. It's in walking distance from the airport (30min). Room was okay, but no air-conditioning. Breakfast was okay, mainly bread and cheese. Coffee was awful. If you...

The hotel owner Mugdib picked me up from the Sarajevo train station. He is a very nice person and friendly. His mother and wife who take care of the lobby area are also very nice. I liked the breakfast. The rooms are new and clean. The outside view is not that fantastic though. Wifi had good coverage inside my room....

This is a nice little hotel with nice and clean rooms but we didn't have so nice view. And it's also a little bit hard to find it. The stuff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is quite far from the city center but you can reach it by taxis which are quite cheap or go with the tram like us...

A regular three star hotel, but situated in an industrial area, far away to the city center. Rooms are OK, bathrooms very small, the staff is helpful and the wi-fi has good coverage. During breakfast we had no vegetables. It's convenient for a transit night.

When I contacted hotel I asked for king size bed the owner, who happens to work there, said its not a problem. I got a room with 2 small beds connected together... Room was average, with small balcony and view to some hangar and railroad. Train goes by every few hours making noise. The road to hotel is awful. No...

I stayed at Hotel Ahar for 3 nights at the start of my stay in Bosnia, then returned again for the last night. The hotel owner collected me at the airport at 22.00 and made me most welcome on arrival. This was very reassuring as a woman travelling alone to a new country at night. The hotel is spotlessly clean...
