Tambua Sands Beach Resort is celebrated for its prime location with breathtaking ocean views and a tranquil beachfront that's not overwhelmed by noise. The resort's rooms are acknowledged for their comfort and modern amenities, including air conditioning, which guests enjoy along with the resort's overall cleanliness and well-kept surroundings. While the value proposition receives mixed reactions, with some guests finding prices steep, the service at the hotel is consistently lauded for its warmth and helpfulness. However, some travelers suggest a stronger local music presence to enhance the island atmosphere. Amenities are satisfactory, though improvements in Wi-Fi and breakfast variety could enhance the guest experience.

I was looking for a small resort as I was travelling solo and thought I would give
Tambua Sands ago, I must have driven past this Resort hundreds of times since
1987. My stay was only for 4 days, the Staff made me feel so at home and I was
never lonely everyone had time to talk to me from the Security to the Resort Manager
and every one in between. I started out in the garden bure and was quickly upgraded
to the beach front bure, while there I noticed the villa with the plunge pool was
empty so I paid extra and spent my last day and night there. It was a treat I loved
everything about this villa, closer to the Bar and Restaurant great views overlooking
the beach and the bed was terrific. I was surprised how good the beach was at TS
considering it’s on the Coral Coast and beaches are less common than you think.
The food was excellent and well-priced for it’s quality. I was able to create my
own drink at the Bar and they named it Louisa, it was Coconut rum and Mango juice.
The grounds are well maintained and the pool was great. The Tour desk had many
options for day trips etc. and the girl managing your tour bookings was so helpful.
I believe TS would be prefect for a couples getaway and great for families, if you
didn’t want to spend the big $$$’s elsewhere. The breakfast was included in the
room rate and I really enjoyed it, I especially loved the home made yogurt, you
did not get a large selection but it was more than adequate, 2 eggs and toast with
jams and butter coffee and tea and other goodies. Nothing was a problem here from
getting meals delivered by room service to charging my mobile phone I didn’t have my
charger, I couldn’t find anything to fault them with considering they are not selling
themselves as a luxury Resort. Everything worked perfectly from the hot water in the
shower to the ceiling fans and the bar fridge, small but kept everything cold, power points
and lights, which can’t be said about some other Resorts I have stayed at. I will definitely be back
either solo, with my partner and even with my Grandsons. A special thank you to Salomi,
I loved my stay, at checkout time I was farewelled by many of the Staff at Tambua Sands
As the Resort is cashless and if you need the staff to get you something from the local
shops which they are more than happy to do make sure you have small notes as trying
to change a $50 note is almost impossible.

5 moths after we had our baby, my husband and i decided to go on holiday. We spent 10 days at the beautiful Tambua sands. We stayed in the honeymoon Deluxe suite, it was just a little walk to the beach, had an amzing view of the ocean from our bed, it was so great waking up to the smell of tropical flowers and ocean breeze, Instead of our usual busy lives back in california.
Our villa had its own infinity pool on the deck, a gorgeous private outdoor bath in the back that had palm leaves and a huge stonewall that covers the whole back shower. We had air condition, a ceiling fan, an extra single bed and a refrigerator among other things. But what caught our eyes and heart the most was their thoughtful gesture of putting a Graco pack n play pan for our baby, which we thought was so sweet.

We have been to quite a bit of resorts in fiji, if there was anything that tambua sands really stood out for besides their great staff hospitality and services was their Menus. The food was honestly amazing, we were never disappointed when it came to mealtime.

The resort was peaceful, intimate, and small. Small enough that we remembered each and every face of everyone in the resort And felt very safe doing just about anything.

The rooms and the landscaping was always clean and beautiful, you can really tell they put so much pride into their work and upkeep of the resort.

Thank you to all the tambua sands staff and management for such an unforgettable stay. We miss you all and can not wait to return.

Cons
No wifi and Tv in the rooms.

We were looking for somewhere quiet and warm and Tambua Sands was just the ticket. By no means a 5 star resort, but we like a place that has character and let's us do as much, or as little, as we liked. The burre had a king bed and 2 singles, air con and fans, adequate bathroom with shower and a front verandah to sit and take in the ocean view.
The beach really does have a belt of golden sand and is literally 30 metres from your doorstep. The water was just right for swimming and snorkeling and there's plenty to see as soon as you put your head underwater. Brilliant fish, starfish and some weird looking snake slugs that aren't dangerous, but look like something out of a sci-fi movie. There's better snorkeling just down the road and a local from the nearby village will show you the sights for a reasonable fee. The resort provides kayaks for exploring too.
My wife enjoyed many hours walking up and down the beach finding shells and coral that we brought home (it's okay to just take a couple of bits). She even walked out to the edge of the reef break when the tide was really low, getting plenty of great photos, including one of a giant clam and a bright red starfish.
The main building has a restaurant and bar and whilst the menu is limited there was enough variety to enjoy something different for each of the 11 days we stayed. I can eat, but the large pizza stopped me before I was halfway through. They just put the remainder in a pizza box and I put it in the bar fridge in the room for lunch next day. The continental breakfast included fruit plate, juice, cereal, coffee and toast so lunch was often not needed. We even scored their homemade pancakes one morning!
The staff are great and super friendly. They always greeted us with a smile and a bula and were very helpful. Tui loved to show us his culture, giving us a kava experience that included a history of Fiji that started in Africa. Don't miss out on his coconut demonstration because he turns it into the most delicious grilled dessert. Louisa runs the main desk and helped me expand my vocabulary and the locals seemed to appreciate my attempts at Fijian phrases. On the morning of our departure about a dozen of them gathered to sing us a farewell song and give us a hug, a genuine feel-good experience.
There was internet in the main building and when we arrived at the airport I bought a $30 SIM for my phone that gave us 125 gigs plus phone calls and texts. I left the hotspot on most days and we had no trouble connecting and still had 114 gigs left when we went to fly home.
We'd been to Fiji before and done most of the touristy things, but a few hours at the Kula ecopark was well worth the price of entry.
All in all, a great place to visit. Vinaka vetilevu!

What can I say the minute you arrive you feel like your in Fiji, very relaxing and great location for doing not much. Staff are great and very accommodating.

Now the down fall, Management are non existent, the restaurant is not layed out for service so you are constantly having to ask for menus and pricing. also DO NOT book the airport transport from the hotel it costs about 150 FJD and the car is not safe or worth that much.

In the resort there is no activities what so ever there is things just ad hoc and very random not like the other resorts.

it states continental breakfast but its food at least there is not much choice and lacks like most resorts there is no choice just toast cereal two fruits and one juice not a choice just what ever juice is out that day.
there is a cooked breakfast but you have to pay and that's not advertised either.

also there is nothing around the nearest grocery store is 1.5 hour walkk not 15 min like reception tells you so catch a cab.

My suggestion, stay there 2 nights to relax then go else where. I stayed 6 days and would not do that again. stay in the room with the lap pool tottaly worth it and the only thing that saved my holiday.

It’s our first visit to Fiji & we were glad we chose Tambua Sands. Stayed there for 5 nights. There were maybe 2 other groups of guests when we were there so it was peaceful. The staff were attentive especially Tui who planned interesting activities for us such as leave weaving, a hike to the nearby hill & conducted a kava ceremony. He also regaled us with interesting stories on Fiji. We booked 2 seaside bures & while quite a number of bures were being renovated, there was no noise. The bures we had were not renovated yet so there some issues like the window louvres that were not working & the kids bure had a leaky fridge. Minor issues to us. The coral at the beach was simply amazing. At low tide, you can see them all without snorkelling. Lots of sea cucumbers (which ppl may mistake for a snake as it stretchs itself) & starfish. Hubby & my 3 adult kids also went out kayaking. Kayak use is complimentary. Breakfast was fresh fruits and toasts, which were enough for us & there were enough variety for dinner. It is far from Nadi but we drove so it was no issue. Will definitely come back if we come to Fiji again.

Words cannot explain how beautiful this resort is and how personal, accommodating and welcoming the staff are here!

From the minute we arrived which was around 10pm we instantly felt appreciated as the kitchen had stayed open knowing we were scheduled to arrive.

The kitchen has a great menu full of cultural dishes, snack food and restaurant food.
In complement to that is the bar which we chose to have cocktails most days before/after a massage.

The villas we stayed in were exceptionally clean and had recently been renovated. With the friendly team accomodating us with having our rooms next to each other.

We participated in a hosted Kava session to learn about Kava and Fiji history, which again was something we will remember for a long time.

On our last day today it felt like leaving family. The staff all knew us by name and put in there 150% to make our experience as great as it was.

We will definitely be back at some point soon as I have stayed in places multiple other high end resorts before, this is the first one that I will remember for a life time.

Bula Vinaka Thank you

Lewis Pollock

Our first time in Fiji and Tambua was a wonderful introduction. Our bure was spacious and comfortable and with a spectacular sea view. The staff could not be more accommodating and we learned loads from Tui about the Fijian way of life on our wonderful guided reef walk. Salomi was so helpful to us in planning our next part of the trip and when we were leaving the farewell singing brought tears to my eyes. I would definitely recommend Tambua Sands.

What an absolute gem Tambua Sands is. As I lead a very busy life I wanted a place to unwind and totally relax in beautiful surroundings .... Tambua Sands more than met my expectations. I booked a beachfront bure for 6 nights which was super clean with a lovely shower, extremely comfy bed and exceptional view from the deck. My days were spent walking along the beach, lying in one of the many hammocks reading or sleeping, swimming in the pool or relaxing on the restaurant deck with a hot or cold drink. The restaurant food was delicious and beautifully presented (I didn't have lunch in the restaurant so cannot comment on them). The love and care Abdul puts into his food shows.
The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The staff are exceptional... from the lovely ladies who serviced the bure, to the grounds staff, receptionists, security man Waisake (who is an absolute treasure), restaurant staff including chef Abdul who accommodated my dietary requests without hesitation ... they are all genuine, very attentive, always happy and smiling, and never too busy to stop for a chat.
The view to the ocean is stunning, the sunsets spectacular and the sound of the waves lull one to sleep all of which creates a location that is out of this world.
I walked to one of the local villages to Baravi Tourist store which was great for purchasing gifts to take home. A ride in a local bus for $1Fiji returned me to Tambua Sands.
It took no time at all for me to fall into Fiji time and totally relax. I love that this resort is small and adults only. My next visit will be for longer. I found perfection and thoroughly recommend Tambua Sands to anyone who is wanting total switch off from a busy life.

On arrival we were told that wi-fi was only accessible in the lounge but not in the rooms. So we were highly disappointed as we needed to communicate with family abroad. Initially our room was still being cleaned so we were given an alternative room which we did not expect. Food was not up to standard: menu was quite limited and pricey. What stood out was that the staff was absolutely awesome and accommodating. A beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
