Our family had an unforgettable experience at Gecko's resort. This was my 6th time to Fiji, but the first time for my husband Brice. I had previously stayed at the larger resorts, but due to covid, I wanted to try two smaller properties. Might I add, that I preferred this property over the other one. There were many reasons for this but ultimately the staff were amazing. From the front desk, to the restaurant, the bar, and housekeeping, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I felt at ease and very well taken care off. The size of the resort made it possible to spend time around the pools, the restaurant and bar without being lost in a crowd. The food served in the restaurant was not only impressive, but the price was extremely reasonable. The same can be said for the drinks. A particular highlight of the stay was the complimentary fire shows during dinner. A must for everyone to see, and people travelled from nearby resorts to experience this. Brice having never been to Fiji loved this and being able to get up and participate. The staff made us feel right at home. The owner also spends time sitting around the resort to ensure that the guests are well looked after. This was in no way intrusive but allowed for guests to relax but know that they were taken care of. A big thank you to all the girls and Tex. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. Vinaka! and we will see you again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Gecko's Resort! We had previously stayed at a fancier coastal resort near Nadi and found Gecko's to be much more our speed. While it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of some of the bigger resorts, it has a lot going for it. For starters, the staff (Katalina, Trex, etc) was incredibly friendly. Everyone from the front desk team to the security guard to the groundskeepers were wonderful. They remembered our names, went above and beyond to make us comfortable, and even brought us fresh coconuts one afternoon. We also loved the extremely affordable laundry service, great value meals, and Friday night dance/fire performance. The accommodations were comfortable and pleasant. They recommended Coral Coast Transfers and Tours, who provided great taxi service for our entire stay (thank you, Asaf and Aineez!). We explored Sand Dunes National Park, ate food in and walked around local towns, did the EcoTrax bike adventure, and went to the Shangri-La for mini-golf and lunch.

We stayed here just for one night en route to a villa at Natadola Beach. The staff were just fabulous, the room was perfect, and dinner and breakfast were delicious!
I had a massage which was much needed after a stressful flight and the cost was very reasonable compared to the big resorts.
We came back several times during our week at Natadola for coffee as we were passing by, and were always greeted warmly by staff who remembered our names.
It is a charming and friendly little place.

Just passed through as a diner in the restaurant with the family. Clean environment, friendly staff and reasonable food. We reviewed the bill the following day to find the amount charged was higher than on the menu by about $25fj. This was brought to the attention of Geckos (via email) who said they were currently updating the website to the new prices and that we could get a payment differential credit next time we came, but did not offer a refund. Lack of transparency with pricing made this pretty expensive $175fj for 3 people for mid range dining. Daughter enjoyed playing pool though. Breakfast menu looks pretty good (if prices are correct) so might give them a second chance heading home.

The resort is opposite the Shanga-La Yanuca Island Resort. A nice and friendly resort with great staff. The only set back for the Resort is it does not have any beach frontage. The resort does have 2 swimming pools.

We went there for the fire show. If you have a meal there the fire show is free, and the tables are right in front of the stage. Be prepared to participate in the show, as no one is spared even the children.

The dining area is an open area undercover. A great night, with lovely food, that is very reasonably priced. I had the Lobster Thermidor (just magnificent), and The wife had the Prawn Curry which she said was very very nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Gecko's Resort.

The resort is in a nice location, is well maintained, and does not look dated.

The waitress in the restaurant was very nice and the pool and a room with a pool table are nearby.

The gift shop had a nice selection of hand made crafts.

Most importantly, our room at the resort was clean and had a working safe - something that is very important for securing valuables and passports when traveling internationally.

We appreciated having access to a working safe as many of the safes in other resorts and hotels in Fiji were broken or missing.

We would highly recommend Gecko's Resort to others traveling to Fiji.

So we arrived prior to check in… not a problem. Receptionist told us room would be ready in 5 minutes. That 5 minutes turned out to be 1 & 1/2 hour wait. Upon going to room a smell of sewerage was noticed. Depending on the wind direction this can be quite strong. The resort is very run down and is in urgent need of renovation. We were told at check in that if we wanted to dine in restaurant on Tues, Fri or Sunday we need to book as it gets busy with patrons from outside the resort. We made a reservation for 7pm . As it was busy we arrived at 6.35pm and ordered at 6.45pm. Cocktails took half an hour to arrive after asking for them where they were. At 8pm I asked where our meals were and the response was that there was a large table before us. I might add this large table was NOT house guests they were from the Shangri La. House guest don’t have priority over outside guests. Restaurant closes at 8pm. 1 meal came at 8.14pm the other at 8.25pm… The restaurant is focused on guests staying at other resorts…. Why? not sure seems odd! I asked to speak with the Resort Manager 7 times over the course of the evening. She was either too scared to talk with me or didn’t give a damn. Later in evening when restaurant was closed I saw a lady that looked like the manager and asked her if indeed she was, she said yes. I found her to be dismissive, unprofessional and instead of apologizing just made excuses. Our stay was now not about the restaurant but purely down to the fact that the resort manger’s lack of interest in us. Had she come to talk to us without hiding in the kitchen all night she could have alleviated us wanting to check out earlier and there would not have been the angst and frustration. She is simply not fit for the position. I advised her that we would be checking out the next day cutting or stay short by 4 days. And that I wanted a refund for those 4 days. She made all these excuses that she couldn’t refund I advised her that we would indeed be checking out tomorrow and that I expected a refund. Upon checking out we were refunded and we went back to the glorious, professional and friendly Bedarra Beach Inn where we were “welcomed home”

This place has everything you need, in a quiet, calm and relaxed environment, and at EXTREMELY reasonable prices! I visited the ShangriLa (opposite) and Outriggers (down the road) for a look and those concrete jungles have nothing on this place. The food and drinks are more reasonably priced too! The staff remember your name and greet you warmly every day. The entertainment at the restaurant 3 days a week is fun and a popular night. Even though they were pretty heavily booked out, we often had the pool to ourselves. It's a perfect place to stop, relax and unwind from the world. Vinaka

We visited geckos restaurant for dinner while staying at the Shangri La for something different
The food was great and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and cheerful and made the overall experience worth going. I would recommend a visit if you are getting tired of resort food.

We had dinner at Geckos while staying in the Coral Coast and we were blown away by the amazing service and delicious food. The restaurant stayed open for us and another couple who were staying at the hotel over the road, Mere was our fantastic waitress and she and the rest of the team were so attentive and ensured we had a great time. Amazing value and the service was second to none. We will be back!

Transfers- you can get a coach (Pacific transport or Sunbeam coaches) from the airport which stops right outside for about $6. We used the former which was very comfortable Breakfast- not a buffet but a good range of options from a menu Kids club- not sure about at Gecko's but lots of stuff at the Shangri-la across the road (which you could access for free when we were there)

You can use the resort's free wifi thats available only in the bar area - just ask for a voucher with a code from one of the helpful members of staff. If I remember the voucher enabled use for approx 30 mins per day. Enough for checking emails etc.

For the bus: place is next to major Road with plenty of buses. I suppose you would have to take a bus to Nadi and the take an express bus to Suva. Less buses on Sunday. We asked Gecko’s for a taxi from the airport which costed around 45 usd for 1,5 hours drive. I don’t remember dinner prices but you can find it on their website. Normal tourist prices. Not many other places around.
