Nestled on a picturesque beach, the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is lauded for its peaceful atmosphere, complete with live entertainment and a non-party vibe that's perfect for unwinding. Guests love the prime location, ideal for golf and snorkeling.
However, opinions diverge regarding value; some visitors find the services overpriced and the food average. While the resort's cleanliness and amenities generally receive high marks, the praise is tempered by reports of inconsistent service and the need for improvements in room upkeep and modernization.

What a special place.
We were lucky enough to spend 10 wonderful nights with “Family” at the Intercontinental Golf resort and Spa Fiji.
The stand out as always in Fiji is the warmth in which the Fijians welcome you as “Family” and genuinely engage with you, at the Intercontinental Golf resort and Spa it’s another level of friendliness in wanting to make your stay special, you cannot fake this.
Our room was very nice, a bit close to central facilities were functions are held at night noise wise but otherwise very good, clean tidy and servicing was exceptional.
All our dining experiences were very good with service again excellent,
Special mention to the team at Navo Restaurant, pretty special dining experience we had and well worth the money.
Intercontinental’s reputation of quality and service was represented on our visit at the highest level.

Amazing!!! if you are at all in doubt as to where to stay, trust me the intercontinental is the greatest! We were not 100% sure, so we split half our time here and half at the Marriott, wish we had spent the whole time at the intercon. The staff are amazing, just a step above anywhere else. We were travelling with an 8 month old, which has its challenges and at every possible opportunity they tried to make our stay as easy as possible. From initially changing our room (without us asking) to be in a more convenient location for the kids pool / facilities, to entertaining him whilst we ate, and of course our nanny Cema was so wonderful! Our little boy didn't want to leave her and come to us lol. The rooms were incredible, as were the facilities. The beach is pure paradise and I think that we came during a quiet time as we had it to ourselves most days and it was magical. Snorkelling was fun as was the stand up paddle boarding. Infinity pool was beautiful and nice for people without kids as it was adult only. Highly recommend.
Only negative was that the room service meals we had were not good at all and I would not recommend ordering of this menu. A little annoying as sometimes its nice to have a meal in the room or it is required with a little baby. Also the bar fridge needs updating as it kept freezing items.

5 star resort with many highlights.
Excellent championship golf course attached (couple min on transfer coach), breathtaking views and great layout though could do with an upgrade on hire clubs.
Staff were the highlight, all meticulously sticking to covid safety rules (not the old chin-mask that we see throughout Australia), always with a smile and happy to help. Made us all feel very welcome and could give a hospitality lesson to other regions
Relaxing cocktails and great live music at night
4 restaurants to choose from. Navo was their upmarket choice, quite nice, Sanasana was for breakfast and had a rotating buffet theme at night, Toba was the relaxed pool side Cafe, Kama was more bar food.
3 pools to choose from , shallow family pool to lounge in, infinity adult pool, and a seperate club pool
reasonably equipped hotel gym was nice
friendly helpers at childrens club.
Occupancy rates were less than 50% during our stay so that removed the atmosphere in the family pool and childrens club but this is obviously a worldwide phenomenon. It was good to see that staffing levels were maintained despite this. Some services were reduced such as water activities.
The resort is positioned on a nice beach with inner reef so water was quite clear and shallow for a distance without waves so kids could swim easily and lots of snorkelling to be seen. They do offer scuba diving as well.
45 min drive from airport
Will definitely be back.

Well today is our last day here. I’ve left my review till now hoping things would get better! We arrived Christmas Eve. Check in was great nice and easy. Our room we were very disappointed in. Our room was not serviced unless we rang, even then it wasn’t being done until around 4.30-5.00pm, by this time we are coming back to the room to have a relax and get ready for dinner. The cleaners are in and out in 5-10 minutes! The room from day 1 smelt damp, the bedding felt damp, hot water system always running out of hot water. The floor was dirty hadn’t been mopped! Constantly chasing fresh towels, bottled water, It took 3 hrs or so sometimes didn’t get them had to keep chasing. We were moved to another room apparently there are problems with the block where our room was! We were moved to a poolside room with a complimentary bottle of red wine (lovely gesture) only we don’t drink red, so since we’ve been in the new room we have been asking to change to complimentary bottle to a Sauvignon Blanc, we were told that’s fine it would be arranged. We have chased this for 2 days now, upon calling to follow up yesterday I was told that the Sanasana restaurant doesn’t have any, the lady I was speaking to said she can transfer me to another restaurant where I can ask if they have any Sauvignon Blanc, apparently there’s none in the resort, funny because I had 2 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc with dinner last night. Still having to wait hours if we call housekeeping to get basic needs. Our new room has a dirty floor that needs to be mopped and was like that when we moved in, still hasn’t been mopped even though the room gets serviced daily! The service is friendly but lacking we ordered drinks followed by food, our food arrived still asking about our drinks, we finished our lunch and still no drinks ask again only to be told there’s no beer on tap, that’s fine but seriously 1hr to be told. It’s a shame the service doesn't reflect the pricing to stay, eat and drink here.

Bula Rebeccacl6211TR Thank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback to us via TripAdvisor during your stay and we regret to read this feedback. We’ll try to locate you this morning in the resort to speak with you and see how we can reinstate your confidence in our resort. Our Manager on Duty is available 24/7 and myself, The Resort Manager and the senior team are here at all times to assist if something is not quite right as we'd love to rectify and turn this around. I do apologise for lapses in service over the room cleaning, replenishment of water and food & beverage service in the restaurants. Unfortunately Cyclone Sarai a category 2 shut down power to all of Fiji, limited transport and closing the airport for two days, creating a challenging environment over the Christmas period and again we apologise for disappointments in your stay. Thank you again for passing on your feedback via TripAdvisor. Vinaka vakalevu Lachlan Walker Area General Manager South Pacific

The staff at the hotel are super friendly and professional. Everyone is happy to return to work and do this as a great team. Even though the staff and activities are reduced as well as the rates, the service and facilities remain FIVE STAR. Towels are always available at the pool and ocean, food offerings are wonderful and the gift of Fiji’s weather was perfect. Thanks to staff and management for making this spectacular property available to locals at a reduced rate for now, you are deserved of the support you are receiving in these challenging times.

Was a beautiful spot. Around 50 min drive from the airport and located by the beach. We stayed in a lagoon view suite that was a short walk from the restaurants and pool areas.
Whilst the resort was full it never really felt like it, there were areas for adults only that was always busy and the family pool always had some free chairs for use. Restaurants were mostly ok and a good spread at breakfast.
Great things
Spacious rooms however getting a little tired.
Lots of room around the pools
Amazing beach to spend hours in high or low tide
Pretty decent food options
Quite and relaxing
Amazing coffee at breakfast (we are Melb coffee wa*kers so like a decent coffee).
Improvements
Room cleaning - this was an odd one. Rooms were serviced around 4pm each day and whilst towels would be taken away they weren’t replaced. We ended up with no face cloths and shower mat towels, our glass wear weren’t replaced and floor not swept. Also lots of dust on mini food items no one has eaten for a long time and dust on bed head etc.
Kids club - bit average. Caters ok to the younger ones but my 9year got bored and only wanted to go to one session. They do have free activities for kids during the day but if you compare to the kids club at The Radission it just can’t compete. Also aren’t as kid friendly as other resorts. Again the resort is a little more upmarket so probably mostly cater to adults.
Dinner service - hit and miss. Most times we had to ask someone to come take our order as they forgot about us. And if you go during main meal time 7pm ish it can’t take some time for food to come out. It was still a 4/5 but you are paying Aussie prices for food so expectation was still probably at an Aussie servicing outcome as well.
Overall a great resort and great facilities and location and have already tried to book again next year (although booked out!).

Without doubt, this hotel provided the perfect getway and our thoughts are this is the best overall beach resort globally.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we had to leave - we loved it.
A couple of important points would be to be aware this is luxury that also comes with a heavy price but well worth it with the recommendation of paying the extra for Intercon Club access.
Staff are nothing short of brilliant - they care............
The rooms are huge with most having an outdoor "Cleopatra" bath which if you grab one by the beach - simply perfect
I truly can't say enough superlatives about the beach, the hotel and certainly the staff

We had an upgrade to a waterfront suite which was spacious and comfortable and with just incredible views. And it probably has the best beach on the island. That’s where it ended for me. We felt trapped here after a day.
The food was mediocre at best and the one night we attempted to dine in their “fine dining” restaurant, Navo, we found our food ranging from not matching the menu description to literally inedible. It was so bad in fact that we asked for the check after tasting our main course and walked over to the lounge with our bottle of wine and had bar food for dinner. I suppose I could have complained but I just couldn’t be bothered / didn’t want the conflict or aggravation. Service in general was polite and friendly but a bit under-trained and not terribly motivated. There are only three restaurants and one lounge (where we did most of our eating). One of the restaurants has loud music and flat panel advertising going on seemingly non-stop. There are no other resorts nearby so off-resort restaurants options are a significant drive and if you don’t have a car it will cost you. A ride to the nearby town of Sigatoka was $115. We were so disappointed that we gave up our last night and moved to the Radisson despite losing money on the room.
Although the hotel is apparently only 10 years old it looks like it was designed in the late 1970’s and hasn’t been update since. The structures are dark and unwelcoming and it has this very corporate feel. When we checked out their system was down and I am now arguing with them about the bill via email. I keep meticulous track of my room charges when I travel and there were quite a few charges put to our room that we simply did not make. Insult poured over injury. We had a reasonably good stay at the Intercon in Melbourne so I’d hate to make a case against the IHG brand but I will be more careful before booking an IHG property again after this experience.

My husband and I stayed from 16th to 22nd December in a 1 bedroom, 2nd floor lagoon view suite (bure 2425) which had stunning views across the lagoon to Navo Island and was located close to the gymnasium, day spa, Navo restaurant and the kids day club (not that we needed that) with many day bed pavillions close by surrounding the lagoon. The accommodation was large enough for our needs with a seperate lounge area and a huge balcony with double sized day bed and an oversized bath tub. The adults only infinity pool was only a short stroll away and we never found it necessary to call for a buggy although if you did have little ones with you might want to do, as the walking distance to the family pool is the same. The only improvement on the rooms that I would suggest, would be to have better reading lighting in the bedroom. It was far too dark to be able to enjoy reading in bed at night, which is a guilty pleasure of mine when on holidays.
Breakfasts every morning at Navo (adults only) were a special start to our days especially with the stunning setting. Thanks to both Inny and Iva for your fantastic service during our stay. Your friendly smiles and chatter every morning set the mood for another happy day in paradise.
Poolside service by the adults pool was also very good. I don't remember all your names - so apologies (except for Sava) but you all made the effort to order my 'refreshing mojito' just the way I liked it.
I need to pass on an appreciative thanks to Sue from Toba restaurant who went beyond to make me happy with a special room service meal one night. A big thank you to you Sue! That was true Fijian hospitality at its finest.
Most nights we were more than happy to have room service delivered to our room as we were too relaxed to dine out. It was always delivered promptly and well presented.
We enjoyed a fine dinning experience at Navo on our final night. The food, service and ambience was outstanding. The seranading by staff of "Isa Lei" was not only beautiful but it also touched our hearts and family back at home when we showed them your filmed singing. It is a very sentimental memory that will be cherished.
Everything from our couples massage, snorkelling safari, the incredible beach and the love and warmth from your amazing staff is already being missed.
We will be back.

From the moment we arrived at the resort we knew that we were in for a very special week. I truly believe that the Fijian's are among the happiest people on earth and we certainly got a sense of that the moment we pulled up in our transfer. We were welcomed with open arms after a very early flight and our luggage was immediately unloaded and whisked away before we noticed. We had booked a club suite at the resort so upon arrival, we were placed in a buggy and ferried up to the club lounge. The check-in process was simple and seamless. We were greeted by Moses who made us feel very welcome. (a process so often made difficult at other resorts we have stayed in the past) We were placed back into the buggy and taken to our room where our luggage had already been delivered.
Our room was stunning, so spacious and ideal for the family. We had a 2 bedroom club suite which was more than enough for us. The kids (2) slept down one end of the apartment and we had an opulent, spacious room with ensuite and balcony up the other end. A north west aspect meant we had beautiful light and sunshine all day and the balcony was equipped with a spa bath (which the kids loved) and views down the valley over the lagoon. Simply stunning.
The attention to detail and overall care for our satisfaction is what impressed us the most at this resort. For the Fijian staff nothing was too difficult. Every single request was met, no matter how difficult and nothing was ever an issue. The staff have a genuine interest in getting to know you and ensuring your experience at Intercontinental is nothing short of perfect and they are especially good with children.
Loata (Lotty) and the team in the Club are among the most accomodating and genuinely helpful hotel staff that we've experienced anywhere on the planet. Their attention to detail, and commitment to ensuring you have the best experience possible are evident throughout your stay.
In terms of the facilities, these too are faultless. A kids pool with activities during the day to keep your little ones entertained, an adults only pool for those traveling without children, a separate private pool in the Club for Club Suite guests, a spacious, clean and fully equipped kids club that the kids genuinely love to go, an array of restaurants all offering different dining options so you'll never get bored of eating the same things and a stunning beach with every activity you can imagine (jet skiing, horse riding, kayaks, ski biscuit, snorkelling etc)
They say good service starts at the top. You'll see the area manager Lachlan walking around the island every day. A lovely guy who engages with everyone he makes eye contact with. His sole purpose was to ensure that everyones stay at the resort was world class and he's always available for a chat.
Congratulations Lachlan and the team at Intercontinental in Fiji. It's often easy to pick holes in a holiday but my wife and I can genuinely say that this experience was flawless. 10/10 and we absolutely cannot wait to come back!

No I would avoid this hotel at all costs high risk of food poisoning also
Yes a good selection but expensive
The best people to contact for this are Rosie's Holidays Fiji, they have a customer desk at Intercontinental and all the major resorts. They will handle all you queries and bookings from your chosen resort for not just cruises but for all activities. We didn't do a boat cruise as I get very seasick but we saw boats coming and going all the time. We did however do the 3hr jetski tour and snorkeling package which was amazing.
