Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The location was very convenient. I was really impressed with the room as it is very functional for my liking. The room alone has all you need and is better than any other apartment hotel I've been to especially with the room's very own refrigerator, microwave, oven, washing machine and dryer. A really affordable price as well.

I based myself at the Ratsun for a few weeks and used the time to explore a good deal of the West Coast region. The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, the A/C works well and the staff are extremely helpful with plenty of local knowledge.
There is a handy Supermarket in the same building on the Ground Level and a small Food Court on the 1st Floor where the food is cooked fresh and well priced. Plenty of Taxis in the area and if you feel more adventurous, you can buy a Bus Pass and then take local transport into Nadi Town and many other places.

I was so put off by the other reviews of this place that I almost cancelled my booking but I am so glad that I didn’t!

My experience was phenomenal. The check in staff at checkin and departure were so so lovely and over caring! They always addressed me by name and were helpful and courteous. They even booked me a transfer afew days before my stay with them to the port and told me how much to pay and advised me on how to not get ripped off.

The room was great! The products provided smelled absolutely amazing!! Coconut central!

The lift was broken but they had a backup lift, the bin wasn’t emptied but I have experienced this everywhere in Fiji so far so maybe it is a thing here not to do it until it’s full and that’s fine! It’s no big deal. Yes the hotel has a weird smell but we aren’t in Australia or America we are in Fiji!!!! Their standards are not our standard so before people leave a bad review they should remember where they are.

My tv worked fine, the hot water was a god send after a week on the islands. I used the washer and dryer with no issues! It is right near a grocery store so I purchased some milk for my coffee very easily.

I didn’t find the bed comfortable at all but I also only paid $100aud for one night compared to what the other hotels charge I think it is well worth the stay!

I wish I knew the name of the team member who served me at checkin because he was a whole vibe!! Definitely stay here and remember that kindness attracts kindness.

The location is good but you do not live in this world. I have traveled a lot around the world and these days the internet is free in all hotels but this hotel does not provide internet for free. They do not provide water which is plentiful in Fiji, there is no microwave in the kitchen and most importantly there is no safe locker in the room so you have to carry all your valuables with you. I suggest avoid this hotel until they improve on above short comings.

The service at the reception desk and even on phone was shocking. The language used by one male receptionist at the counter was un-acceptable to any person. Rudeness at its height. Our room had 3-4 persons accommodation but they charged us for a third person($85). The room we had booked was to have kitchen facilities. In the kitchen there were 2 electric stoves and the pots were round at the base and not flat. The heating took ages for the pots to warm up. Opposite the cooking stove the wall was burnt and damaged. The utensils were meagre- 2 plastic spoons for stirring, one blunt knife, no lids of pots, no can openers, 2 dinner plates, 3 cups, 2 mugs, 2 saucers. The dish washer didn't work despite help from reception area which came after 1 hour. The internal phone took 3 days to fix and every time we needed anything we had to go down the lift to complain. The shower cubicle had green algae and was slimy and slippery. We had to ask for the shower to be cleaned properly. The TV did not work in the bedroom and had to be fixed. The sliding door of the bedroom creaked and was off the hinges and they didn't fix it despite our requests. The fridge and air conditioner worked well. Every day we had to ask for extra towels as we were three people in the room. The worst hotel we have ever stayed at in our entire life having travelled around the world and stayed in many resorts and hotels. The worst experience ever! My humble request to the management is to fix all issues raised ASAP. I would strongly advise all not to stay at this hotel. Avoid it at all costs and I've already advise all my friends in Melbourne about this hotel and not to stay there. Please avoid this hotel at all costs.

If you only need to stay here for a couple of hours it should be ok, but otherwise give this place a miss.

Positives first, staff were very friendly and helpful and they have a food court where you can get a nice coffe and a good curry, and close to the airport.

Negatives oh man where to start, the pictures on the website are totally misleading, the hotel is darkly lit and really rundown, its in the middle of a block that contains a supermarket, a 2 dollar type shop and a place selling knock off dvds
and a bakery. The surrounding area is covered in rubbish from overflowing bins.
The elevator only occasionally works due to the frequent power cuts. They hallways are dark, the carpet is stained and the roof looks like its coming apart in places.
Our room was dirty, and had a pretty bad smell, had this funky type of white stuff around the bottom of all the walls, badly stained chair in the lounge, Two tvs but neither worked, talked to reception and was told someone would be up to fix it, but they never showed.
No milk or water in the fridge, you have to pay 25 dollars for 24 hours of internet, but that doesn't work either. Windows look like they haven't been cleaned since the place opened, and bring your earplugs its really loud. They say on the website that the rooms are soundproof and thats possibly true, if your completely deaf. Also says on the website there's a bar, not sure where that is either.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a miss.

What can I say about the Ratsun Hotel Fiji, oh, I know, disgusting. After travelling from Honolulu we arrived at the Ratsun at about 8.30pm on the 3/5/23, hotel had been pre paid through the Flight Centre, all good. Upon arrival at the Ratsun, first thing that came through our minds was, have we made the right choice in choosing this hotel. Automatic doors were broken, not a problem I thought, once inside after struggling with the door, we were met with a dimly lit reception area, young receptionist seemed pleasant enough but demanded a $100 holding bond, ok, fair enough, $100 cash handed over, receipt obtained. We were allocated room 215 on the 2nd floor, up in the lift and shown to 215. You really get a feel for a place when you first see it, our suspicions weren’t wrong, turning on the light we were greeted by disgustingly filthy, ripped and stained furniture, the bathroom wasn’t much better, the shower, mould and what can only be described as looking like human excrement lodged in the corners and sill of the shower. I can go on about the condition of this property but by now you should have a fair idea as to how it looks. A visit to the young receptionist was a waste of time, she was lost and clearly had no idea how to deal with a situation such as this, about the only thing she was sure of was needing to charge me $23 to use the internet for 24 hours. Without boring you further, under supervision of my wife, an improvement was made the following morning.

I have no idea how this hotel got the rating it has, I am staying here now and have another 2.5 weeks to go. I am really stating to consider moving. The room is OK, not the cleanest, plumbing fixtures loose, etc. However, being here on business, the Internet connection via wifi is very bad, 1Mbits/sec in 2023, even in Fiji and on top of that it is a pay service, not included with the room. To top it off the TV in the living room stopped working.

The Ratsun Hotel is very convenient to Nadi International Airport for a late arrival or early departure.
The staff on arrival were lovely and helpful.
The room was clean and well appointed, although there was no natural light. The room we had was apartment style with kitchen facilities. There are no restaurant facilities here, although there is a food court next door, and other food outlets nearby within walking distance.
It is in a strip of shops and businesses on busy Queens Road, although having an internal room meant that it was quiet and peaceful. We would use it again for our first or last night in Fiji.
