Paradise Inn, Rarotonga is the perfect place for travelers looking for value for money. We have 16 serviced units nestled in a peaceful location between the mountains and the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to downtown Avarua. The terrace, bar and lounge have breathtaking lagoon and ocean views and are yours for relaxing, whale watching, meeting people or enjoying a meal al fresco. A beach before the reef offers our visitors the prospect of sunbathing, a stroll along the beach, low tide reef walking and spotting starfish, coral and the small colourful reef fish that populate the lagoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner on the terrace with a drink from the last "Honesty Bar" in the South Pacific where cocktails and tall tales are the order of the evening.

We spent one night at Paradise Inn as a transit stop in Raro on our way out to the outer islands. We were just looking for something cheap and close to town/airport. This place fit the bill. It was definitely no frills and very basic, but clean and functional. There was Wifi but it wasn’t free, you needed to buy vouchers. There was a TV but it only got 1 or 2 local channels using rabbit ear antenna. The very friendly manager came to greet us and chat and we were very well looked after. The location is great – about a 10-minute walk from town and a number of restaurants on the way. There was also a very handy mini-mart just out front where you could buy most of the basics. The hotel is on the beach and it was a pleasant walk up and down the beach. The biggest complaint was the very vocal dog next door who woke us up repeatedly in the night with fits of barking – this is a big problem many places in Raro. I wouldn’t choose to stay here for a holiday, but for an inexpensive transit stop it was perfectly fine.

Had booked to stay for 9 nights but could only stay here for one. Very run down, needs a lot of work. Building is falling apart. Poorly maintained. Chantelle at reception was lovely and was happy to give me a refund. It's such a shame there has been nothing done to this place for many years, as it is in a prime location by the ocean.

Great location flat walk to the commercial centre. Bus stop out the front and shop next door for supplies. On the water thought the room do not have water views there is a terrace at the back of the property that does and there is direct beach access. This is not a resort however it was comfortable spacious clean well serviced acommodation.

I stayed here for 9 nights on my own. I was there for a reunion and had activities planned for most days and nights. It's not a luxury hotel! If you are looking for grand gestures, then this place is not for you. It had everything I needed. A comfy clean bed and pillows,a jug, microwave and small fridge, portable fan, great shower, and it's very close to town and the main road for a bus. It's not the Hilton. Sure, there are many things that could be done to Paradise Inn but I loved it for the quirkiness. It's like stepping back in time. The big dining room was never used but I loved being able to walk through it and have my morning coffee overlooking a beautiful view from the balcony. The Manager Chantelle is friendly and helpful. Within a few calls, she had organized a great deal for a rental car. She also has two dogs who sit out the front and always made me feel safe when I returned at night. It's perfect for solo travellers or couples, if you're in Raro to explore and enjoy what it has to offer. The only thing I didn't enjoy, was the skylight that lights up the apartments in the morning, but that was easily fixed with a cheap eye mask. I would recommend this place 100%. It was Paradise to me. Thanks Chantelle and the team at Paradise Inn.

Rarotonga can be expensive ... but ... the Paradise Inn offers clean budget (rare) accommodation (including private rooms with ensuite) which are hard to find in Rarotonga at such good prices especially for solo travellers. Chantelle, the manager, is extremely helpful ... nothing a problem and she also has a very generous attitude. She let me check in two hours early (12 noon) and then check out 4 hours late (2pm) ... and declined my offer to pay extra. She also upgraded me for no extra charge to a much bigger room. Thanks for the nice stay! Ben W
