The place is too noisy. We stayed at the bedroom next to the reception and it was impossible to sleep. It was about 10 PM the hostel stuff had a barbucue at the rooftop with some other guests, and the music was too loud. After the party was over, the guy from reception was watching TV or receiving calls from...

I am totally amazed by the reviews that say this place is great! We had booked a private double for 3 nights based on good reviews, but checked out after one despite the loss of money. There was no way I could spend any longer there. To put things in perspective I do admit to being a bit of a...

Arriba is a great hostel and is about a 5 minute walk from the nicest beach in Montevideo and the boardwalk. The hostel is clean and well-maintaned, though a little unorganized (I'm not sure they keep track of which beds are taken. When I didn't have anything on my bed they tried to give it away to new guests -...

This is a great place to stay while you are in Montevideo... The staff are fab and the hostel is located in a quiet/professional suburb of the city. The property has been recently converted and finished to a high standard. HIGHLY recommended

Extremely friendly house. Staff were always on hand to help with anything I needed. What I wanted when I came here was a place to rest, not have parties going on at all hours etc. I got exactly that. Was able to fully charge my own batteries, all my electronic equipment and get ready for the next leg of my...

If you ring the bell and wish to enter you are lucky if you do not have to wait for ages before being bluffed at who you were. Many amenities are broken or only partly functional. You meet drunk people daily, vomiting all over the place, vandalizing at night, sexually harassing other guests, the employees watching and not minding at...

First of all, I like the location because it's 2 blocks away from the beach. The neighbourhood is called the Pocitos. The bus running from the bus terminal to the Pocitos is # 183. The bus stop is VERY close to the bus terminal. I was told that the bus running from the airport is D1. (I came by bus,...
