Nice hotel. Not located inside the town. I mean you have to have dinner there. No other option. It's an old monastery. Spaced and clean rooms but Wi-Fi is not available inside the rooms, only in the main common areas. This may be a handicap?

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your comment and for taking the time to write it. We are happy that you have had a good stay overall. You mentioned some issues regarding the wifi service; actually the coverage here in the Sacred Valley is quite deficient. We invite you to visit our hotels in Cusco, Lima, Arequipa and Paracas....

Stayed here March 2017 for three nights. Property clean and good quality. Special appreciation to Fernando for helping us to book several ground transfers. He even arrived at Ollantaytambo to greet us at the train station on our way back from Machu Picchu. Gabriel and Rosemary were especially kind to me when I spent the day alone at the hotel...

Only stayed one night, but what a treat. A beautiful place tucked in what appears to be a typical, poor regional farming community. The hotel is at the end of a small gravel road that you would say uh oh until you rounded the corner and came face to face with an old monestary that has been turned into a...

The gardens are absolutely beautiful. The rooms are mostly clean and they do make a good effort to touch up paint and use nice bedsheets and we had new carpeting in the room we stayed in. We did find a few hairs here and there on the sofa and in the bathroom but nothing significant. Overall we were happy with...

We stayed one night in a deluxe room. We loved the buildings and gardens. This hotel is built in a convert Fransiscan 16th century monastery, and we thought it was beautiful. Very quiet and comfortable. The service from the staff was excellent. We thought food for dinner and breakfast was excellent. We had a large double story room, with bedroom...

The best of this hotel is the location in Sacred valley with mountains in front and back, nice common sitting room with pictures , frescos and vintage objects that have been redone and lovely gardens in front and inside courts. The rooms were small to average in size and the showers were poorly designed so water run in the rest...

The location is excellent and it is extremely quiet. The rooms are not that big but the beds are very comfortable and the bath room quite spacious. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are good. In the evening, the menu could offer a little more options. I would go back to Peru just to stay there!

This hotel is certainly a good choice for a stay in Urubamba. Clean, quiet, large enough so that children can run around. Breakfast buffet is okay, however, as the rest of the hotel as well, nothing extraordinarily special.

Lovely former monastery where care has been taken to maintain its character. The setting is beautiful and very peaceful and the courtyards make lovely places to sit and relax. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Urubamba is located to 76 km from Cusco, it is a stunning valley with an incredible scenic beauty, and historical heritage, thanks to its excellent location, it becomes the best starting point to visit Machu Picchu (just an hour and a half by train). The Recoleta Hotel is a historical religious monument built up in the XVII century. This charming Boutique hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was and is the mixed races purest example of the colonial art. The Recoleta Hotel, cautiously remodeled in 2007, has all ascetic, monastic, and magical tradition of an ancient monastery, together with the comfort and technology will make you feel part of the spiritual mysticism of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Monasterio de la Recoleta Hotel is nearby the most important ruins of the Sacred Valley of the Incas such as Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Maras Moray. Its convenient location attracts travelers because it is ideal for acclimatization to the Cusco altitude, and for its pleasant climate and low altitude (2.700 m.a.s.l.), 700 m.a.s.l. less than Cuzco. ... more   less
