Our unique property is an intimate 43-casitas hotel within 328,000 square feet of beautiful gardens surrounded by archaeological attractions, and many opportunities of outdoor activities. We have 15 high end luxury casitas like that one which have private terraces and plunge pools overlooking the gardens. They all have an entry porch, foyer, living room and are equipped with heating floor system and fireplace. All the decoration of the casitas is based on the art work of renowned Peruvian artists such as Jaime Leibane and the beautiful frescoed murals by acclaimed artist, Federico Bauer which makes them all really special and unique.

This is a stunningly beautiful respite from a busy travel itinerary. The casitas are very roomy, with gracious and delightful appointments: Heated floors, heated towel bars, Coffee and Tea station, sweets, birding guide, patio, furry hot water bottles in the bed at turn down. The bathroom alone is larger than most hotel rooms! The grounds are exceptionally beautiful and welcoming.

The restaurant for dinner and breakfast will satisfy any palette and the staff is most gracious.

The only complaint is that we had one night before we had to leave! Bummer.

Sol Y Luna was a wonderful place to stay while we explored the Sacred Valley. The setting, in the shadow of the Andes mountains, was inspiring. The casitas were spacious, comfortable and afforded privacy - no neighbors on the other side of a wall. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and fun to explore. There is a Paso Fino horse farm on the property. The breakfast buffet was by far the best of our trip, plus they offer hot made-to-order options at no extra cost. The service was what set this place apart, though. Attentive, but not intrusive, they were happy to anticipate and take care of all reasonable needs. The deep tissue massage one of us had was excellent. The always elegant Malo came to check on us every morning at breakfast to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.

Prior to our first arrival, when our flight to Cusco was delayed for 6 hours, our guide (the inestimable Darwin Mendoza of Terra Explorers) suggested we order ahead of time from Wayra Restaurant's online menu so we could have a good meal that evening. Wayra, one of two restaurants on the property, kept the kitchen open at least an hour late to accommodate the 8 of us, but there were no signs of grumbling from the wait staff. We were escorted to our table and the food was in front of us in moments. It was delicious, and we felt very well taken care of. They eagerly invited us to dine there again the next night.

One of our party arrived with a stomach bug, and the staff offered to make muna (~on the n) tea for him to have in his casita during the day as he recovered. Muna is Andean mint which is soothing to the stomach.

We stayed here immediately following a stay at a Amazonian rain forest lodge which was very close to nature. What a welcome change! We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 days on our tour of Peru and it was great.

The rooms are all individual Casita’s (bungalows), nicely decorated and you are surrounded by beautiful well kept gardens. The staff are superb and really go the extra mile to make sure you every need is catered for. The two on site restaurants are high quality and are really pleasant places to eat a meal. Breakfast is really good and when you sit and look at the surrounding views of the mountains you have to pinch yourself it’s real.

Loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel, thank you to all the staff…

Our family of 5 including kids aged 11, 14, and 16 stayed at Sol & Luna 3 days in late May 2022 and were awestruck by the beauty of the grounds, the quality of food at Killa Wasi (the on-site restaurant), the tasteful decor, and the friendliness of the staff. In particular, our waiter for most of the half-dozen meals we ate, Breham, made sure to add a personal touch and was exceedingly helpful and cordial. The jacuzzi, pool, small but serviceable Gym, and adequate WiFi service were welcome. The included breakfast buffet with menu items such as blinis, omelettes, etcetera was of excellent quality.

SYL provides numerous 220V outlets and a courtesy voltage converter. Though our suite had a comfortable master king bed on the main level and 2 amply-proportioned full size beds in the upper loft which were more than adequate for our kids, the hotel assesses and extra fee for the fifth guest. Though very high quality, the food and drink at Killa Wasi is priced at a premium higher than comparable local restaurants.

What an amazing place. We visited whilst acclimatising to the altitude and as a base for visiting Machu Picchu. The lodge was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated with a private space to sit outside. The lodges are surrounded by beautiful tranquil gardens.

Filtered drinking water was left in the lodge for us and replenished each day.

The staff were very friendly from the Manager to the grounds keepers. They all welcomed us with a smile and greeting.

The food was amazing and the restaurant staff greeted us by name making the visit even more personal.

The morning we needed to leave very early to visit Machu Picchu the staff packed up our breakfast for us as we didn’t have time to eat which was very thoughtful of them.

On our last day we visited the school supported by the Asociacon Sol y Luna (partially funded by the hotel) and met some of the children and donated some small items we had brought from the UK. This was a humbling experience but was great to see all the happy smiling faces.

We will definitely be back for another visit.

Can highly recommend.

The property is gorgeous. Lovely, relaxing grounds incorporate the local flora and culture in the internal and external decor. We also heard that the owners were supportive of staff even throughout the pandemic, which is quite respectable. The breakfast is included, attractive, delicious and plentiful. The Peruvian Paso horse show - daily on site when we were there - is not to be missed. The lunch and dinners are rich and scrumptious. The service is very accommodating, especially housekeeping does a really fine job. My husband and two sons (8&12 years old) absolutely loved our halfday trek to the salt mines with guides Mario and Ulises - Mario gave us great background on the area and the salt pools, a remarkable site to see operating as it was centuries ago. We also truly enjoyed our halfday ride with guide Daniel and learned even more about the area and the wonderful horses. It is a great start when heading to Machu Picchu so you can get acclimated to the altitude. What a treat to be in this place!

Sol y Luna is a lovely resort in the Sacred Valley. We were picked up by our driver Benny & guide Eber, at the Cusco airport mid-day. We stopped at a few interesting places, then they delivered us to Sol Y Luna. We were feeling tired & dusty from our day, so we decided to have an early dinner before turning in for the night.

Our rooms were delightful casitas, with comfy beds, seating area, tables for work/laptops, large tub, shower area & 2 sinks. There was bottled water refreshed morning & evening, a dozen delicious chocolate truffles, plenty of nice shampoo/conditioner/shower gel & soap. The hot water bottles in the evening were nice too.

My only complaint about the room was that there wasn’t a separate toilet room with a door. I know that is common, but I really don’t like it. It’s not a flaw of Sol Y Luna alone-it’s a design flaw.

We had dinner in both of the restaurants during our stay, and enjoyed all 3 dinners. Breakfasts were included, and there are menu items as well as nice buffet items. Service was friendly & well done, and the breads are terrific!

We were a group of a 60s couple & 2 grown sons. They enjoyed the gym, pool & sauna, and we enjoyed a 90 minute massage in a couples room.

Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful & happy to make our stay great!

We traveled to Peru to see the sacred valley and of course, machu picchu. Normally I plan all of our trips myself, but this time...post covid, I decided to let the staff at Sol y Luna take care of us.
Ichiro, JC, David and Ulises not only thought of everything but they constantly asked us for feedback to make sure we were enjoying the experience.
Ichiro is the front desk business manager and I communicated with him via email. He worked out a perfect plan for us. When we arrived, we were assigned a lovely casita with a fireplace and a very comfortable bed. We were greeted with pisco sours and tapas. Each morning someone, usually ichiro, brought us coffee so we could watch the sun rise while waking up slowly in a cozy casita.
Once we acclimated, David our personal guide took over and gave us five wonderful days. Between david and our driver ulises, we navigated trains to machu pucchu, tours of several archeological sites, horse back riding, four wheel drive tour of town and a trout farm nearby for locals. Many days ichiro would send us off with fabulous food from the kitchen for a picnic lunch. One of the highlights was biking down from the top of one mountain village into the valley. The views were spectacular.
JC (Juan Carlos) made it his personal mission to feed us the most amazing meals. The chef prepared us a special Peruvian dinner. We were surprised with a traditional Peruvian lunch. Breakfast was fantastic each morning with fruit, cheese, bread eggs etc.... JC always knew what we wanted and provided the nicest atmosphere you could ask for.
Since the hotel is a small boutique hotel, I did not feel overly concerned about the pandemic. The hotel is taking all the precautions recommended and I felt completely safe. Ichiro arranged for our mandatory covid test to travel back to the US and it was no big deal.
I highly recommend adding Sol y Luna to your list of places to go. We chose to unpack our suitcases and stay a while and it was very relaxing. It also would be a great destination for a couple of days. Great management of a lovely facility

The stylish casitas certainly take your breath away. Decorated in Andean style they are private and very comfortable, set in beautiful grounds. A nice touch to cope with chilly February nights were the hot water bottles inserted in the beds whilst we were at dinner. The restaurant and bar are decorated with effigies of musicians and their instruments. Food was excellent and breakfast on the patio a delight. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Just the right base fo explore the sacred valley.

From start to finish Sol y Luna was an amazing experience. The natural beauty of the property and meticulous care of its grounds are only outshined by the excellence of their staff. We were warmly welcomed by Barbara the evening we arrived and given a quick but thorough tour of the property and our casita. Breakfast was always just what we needed, and Breham did an incredible job of taking care of us. Malo & Ichiro were always checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were happy, and everyone else on staff did a perfect job of making us feel at home for our 9-night getaway. Housekeeping also did an amazing job of always keeping our room tidy throughout our stay, and Juan-Carlos was a top notch bartender every time we needed a drink.

This wonderful hotel is a perfect place to spend a week and take advantage of the many activities they have on offer. Thank you soo much to the owner Petit, and to everyone that made our stay soo special and memorable. We’ll definitely be back :)
