Spectacular hotel in the sacred valley with stunning surroundings right on the river. Surrounded by nature wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds chirping. The rooms are spacious with a large bathroom, bedroom and sitting area plus sizable terrace facing the gardens. Service all around is top notch - all of the staff are amazing and really go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

The hotel also has a great restaurant serving gourmet cuisine for lunch and dinner plus a beautiful breakfast.

The location is perfect for anybody taking the Hiram Bingham train as the stop is right at the hotel so it’s great to walk from your room to and from the train.

Fantastic! We stayed for 4 nights and melted into relaxation. The service is delightful, the rooms all have the great view of the river, which you can hear rushing by if you leave your door open at night. The floor in the bathroom was heated and there was a glass shower so that you could see outside. A MAJOR highlight for me was feeding the baby alpacas in the morning and afternoon- it was SO sweet! I hope they keep Valentina as a mascot for the hotel. We also enjoyed using the bikes, although they needed some tending to, to ride to the Salineras.
I thought that they should allow guests to use the hot tub in the spa without having to reserve and pay- we have been to many spa hotels across the world and this was the first that we had to pay to use.
I also thought that it was not okay that they charged us for water in the restaurant, but would give it to us for free in our rooms...

The manager was very nice, the staff friendly and I loved that they had local women making artisanal crafts up by the front desk.

Really fabulous stay!

This hotel was an absolute dream! From the reception desk, Valeria & Jose, to the amazing chef Carlos and the restaurant staff, Wenderley & Rudy & Radumir, to the hotel staff, Jorge & everyone else that works at Belmond. They helped make a dream come true for us. The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms exquisite, and the food incredible. There were sanitizing stations everywhere and everyone made us feel safe and protected in these covid times. I cannot wait until I am able to go back and visit again! I would recommend booking a few of the experiences, the Mystic Ceremony, the Peru at Home cooking experience, the Horseback riding with Luna's Horses, and the Maras & Salineras Tour with our favorite driver ever, Feliciano! Everyone made us feel welcome and a part of the family! Hasta luego, mi familia Peruana!

The property is stunning! We loved the rooms with the garden shower and outdoor patio, it was very peaceful sitting outside and listening to the river. It was also very fun getting to feed the alpaca's every day. We did the movie night under the stars and it was pretty special, highly recommend doing that while there, just have to let them know a day before.

There was a warm welcome awaiting us. We were in a deluxe terrace room, staying in Room 1, which had a private balcony with stunning views over the Urubamba River and mountains. The room was at the top of the building which we felt provided the best views. The shower was glass topped so you could see the mountains (but totally private). You can feed the alpacas at 8am or 4pm which was great fun and not to be missed. There’s a cosy bar and breakfast and dinner were both very good.

The Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado is a great place to stay when flying into Cusco. You need to acclimate to the altitude so I recommend staying here before going anywhere else. It is a beautiful boutique hotel.

Juan was amazing. He was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

The rooms are done very nicely, a bit on the small side so I would opt for a suite if you are looking for space. The bathrooms have lovely showers and underfloor heating. It does get a bit chilly at night. The food was excellent at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The only complaint was that there were some guys watching American football in the bar and it was on so loudly that it did not make the bar or restaurant ambience very nice that evening.

They have two baby alpacas roaming the property which are adorable. You can feed them by bottle each morning at 8:00.

The location was great to explore the sacred valley for a couple of days.

We stayed at the Belmonds while in Peru. Started off and ended our trip with the Belmond Monasterio in Cusco, as well as stayed at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge in Machu Picchu. But while each has its unique story and characteristics, the Rio Sagrado could very well be one of the best hotels we have stayed at, EVER.

Check in was quick and efficient (we received a complementary upgrade to a Jr Suite). We were then immediately whisked away by the Bellman in a golf cart. He gave us a tour of the property, explained everything, asked if we had any questions, then delivered us to our room. Our bags arrived almost simultaneously.

The room was outstanding! Our sitting area overlooked our private terrace (probably 30 feet wide and 20 feet deep - patio, two loungers and then green grass), which overlooked the river. The bathroom was huge and had a glass roofed wall and shower which also overlooked the river. And of course very, very clean. Another nice touch was a handwritten parchment note (from the GM) welcoming us by name and ensuring us that we would have a relaxing and unique stay. Patricia (the GM) could also moonlight as a fortune teller as both were in our future.

We walked down to the river, looked at the spa, and after grabbing a drink at the bar, returned to our terrace. We sat there for almost two hours until the sun went down. Tranquil doesn't even begin to describe this property. We had a wonderful week in Peru - ruins at Machu Picchu, Salt Pools, etc, but if we have one regret it is that we didn't stay here to enjoy the amenities and tranquility of Rio Sagrado. You need at least 2 nights minimum.

Food for dinner and breakfast was outstanding, as was the service.

We can't say enough about this property, the amenities, and its staff. We have stayed at some high end hotels worldwide and Rio Sagrado rates among the best.

One night is not long enough to enjoy this wonderful 5 star boutique hotel . We felt like we were staying with family from the moment we arrived . Patricia & her team are wonderful ,efficient & friendly . Location is nestled next to a fast flowing river ,with mountains surrounding & in beautifully manicured gardens . Rooms are very comfortable & hot water pressure is always a great sign of attention to detail ,which many hotels lack , but not this one . W are intending to return in the not too distant future to spend more time enjoying the facilities offered. Excellent restaurant as well . Hard to fault anything about this fine establishment

Not only I found Río Sagrado a great spot where to rest after our visit to Machu Picchu, but it was also a great place to exercise! The pool’s temperature was perfect, and the hotel’s location invited you to go for a pleasant run around the valley.

The hotel’s manager, Javier, was very helpful in showing me the way to get the best views of the valley during the run.

I also found the buffet offering to be very diverse. In addition to traditional options such as omelettes and pancakes, there were salads and many fresh additions to have a healthy breakfast!

Location-wise, Belmont’s Río Sagrado is also very well endowed with a private view of the river and its quiet surroundings. Nonetheless, it is also very close to Urubamba where one can find great restaurant offerings. Its proximity to the Ollantaytambo train station (10-15 min) also makes it a great choice for resting after Machu Picchu.

My two night stay was very pleasant thanks to the aforementioned elements, but specially thanks to a very dedicated staff that was always welcoming and helpful. I will definitely go back.

I will give 6 stars to this review if it was possible! I really like the Belmond brand and I’ve been in different Belmont resorts around the world but this one in particular took our hearts. Words can’t described the beauty and peace of this gorgeous hotel. As soon as you enter this paradise the smell of flowers, the river and bird sound will capture your attention. Very easy check in and they offer golf cars to take you to your suite. This vast property only have 20 suites and 2 villas and will make you feel is never crowded. The service is top notch super personalized, every employee would Know your name and make you feel like you are at home. The breakfast buffet included is the best in the Sacred Valley, they use fresh and the best quality products from their own farm. Delicious food and drinks at the restaurant. Beautiful Alpacas roaming around the gardens and you can feed them twice a day at 8:00am and 4:00pm. Breathtaking views everywhere and they have a couple of native ladies selling Peruvian crafts and baby alpaca textiles, they are super sweet and they will show you and explain how they make their products. The suites are elegant and very confortable. No tv unless you requested, to be in perfect contact with nature. You will fall sleep and wake up every day with the sound of the river and all kind of beautiful birds. This is definitely the best hotel in Urubamba. Unfortunately, we only stay 2 days but my entire family agreed we will be back!

Hiram Bingham is incredible. It’s pure luxury. Champagne while you wait. Luxury dining. Open bar. Posh interior. I didn’t try Vistadome. However, Hiram Bingham is the best of the best. Still, after coming off the Incan trail for four days, we napped on our luxurious velvet seats and a lot of it seemed a little wasted on us. One more note, Hiram Bingham has a private bus from Machu Pichu and you wait for it while having tea in a swanky Belmond hotel. The bus line to town for the other folks (in what looked like a monsoon) was endless and folks looked super miserable. Not having to do that was wonderful.
