My stay at the Life Hotel was amazing. Dan (hotel manager) and his team did everything possible to make me and my family welcome and comfortable. He gave us advice on where to go, what to see and eat. The hotel has everything you require from the swimming pool on the terrace, sauna, great food to clean spacious rooms. My kids were kept entertained with the table tennis table, pool table and lots of other games they had available on site. It has lots of wash basin’s dotted around and space to eat in another area if you are concerned about covid. The location is excellent amongst rural beauty and surrounded by the andes mountains. It’s about 15 minute taxi ride into Ollantaytambo and 20 mins to Urubamba. Dan made us feel welcome and part of the Life Hotel family. Definitely would recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in the scared valley. From MP in the UK.

The moment we arrived we were met by hotel manager Dan who made our stay fantastic. The hotel is located in the outskirts of the town, so it's a nice quiet area away from the busy noisy tuk-tuks. We had a car, so it was nice to park in the safe parking lot as they close the gate in the evening, so we felt safe leaving luggage in the car. The hotel is attached to a hospital and "health's boutique"--in fact we weren't sure it was the place at first because there is mention of "hotel" on any of the signage, but we didn't see any activity in the hospital while we were there. The room is spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. One thing to note, Expedia listed two queen beds, but they only have one king and one double or two double beds. The hotel has a unique open bright design, a pool, sauna and a movie theater (they were also showing an important football game there). Breakfast is included and made to order with fresh squeezed juice and coffee. Dan is fluent in 6 languages and my kids loved talking to him in another language. He had great suggestions for restaurants. We went to the pizza place in Urubamba (Pizza Wasi) and had this fantastic pizza. He also suggested that we take a longer route back to Cusco due to it being a better road, but we still took a shorter one and regretted as we had to wait for 45 min for a bulldozer to clear the fallen rocks from the road.

I was actually pleasantly surprised about this place. Sometimes you cannot tell if the place is good by looking at the pictures. The place looked new and clean. This place had character. We couldn’t tell that it was a hotel at first because it looked like a medical clinic from the front and there are medical services provided at the back of the property. When you looked at inside of the property, you can tell it was a hotel. I liked the ramp that spiraled upwards.

The hotel is about 15 minutes away from Ollantaytambo which is good and bad. The cost to get there is about 25 to 30 soles.

The free breakfast and coffee was good. It was much better than the breakfast at the Cusco Hilton Garden Inn.

The manager, Dan, was nice and really helpful. It was awesome to get personal attention. During our trip to Peru, we stayed at the Lima Airport Holiday Inn, the Hilton Garden Inn in Cusco, and JW Marriott in Lima. These other hotels were bigger with much more staff. However, it felt more sterile. We didn’t get to know the staff and they did not know who we were. We were just another guest. So, out of all the hotels we stayed at this trip. We really liked Life Hotel the best.

One suggestion for the hotel is to change the bright white lights to the warm yellow lights in the rooms.

My partner and I booked a stay away for two days in the Life Hotel - and it impressed us from start to finish!

First of all when we arrived we were greeted in such a professional and friendly manner from Dan, the hotel manager. The covid protocols were thorough and the service was outstanding.

Our room, with jacuzzi, was just amazing -comfortable, modern and everything we needed to unwind for a few days.

We had a delicious breakfast included every morning, and full use of all the facilities including pool tables, games area, swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Dan & his team were extremely professional and friendly, and provided continuous impeccable service throughout our stay. We even stayed an extra night in the end! Thanks again guys, we really appreciate everything you did for us and we hope to see you again.

Kind regards
Conal & Laura

With a group of 50+ to visit Machu Picchu, this place gave us the royal treatment: great, spacious, new rooms, tasty delicacies for the meals, pool and play equipment, and a medical clinic for any medical needs, including various COVID tests if you need that.
As the group leader, I want to bring my next group here. Dan, the manager, goes all out to provide service, and his staff continues what he models.

Dan, the manager/owner accommodated our group efficiently and helped us out of a difficult spot when the country closed its borders suddenly. The service, caring and food was amazing. When things got serious with the sudden announcement of borders closing soon, Dan was very attentive and helpful. I am looking forward to going back in the future and exploring the beautiful area. Rooms were very nice and our first evening there they even had musicians playing music.

Ideal for visiting sights near Urubamba and on the way to Machu Picchu. We went straight from Cusco to our hotel and had the hotel arrange transport. We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of our room. The hotel has a lot of amenities that are great if you're affected by the altitude (including oxygen). We got room service since it was already late when we arrived. Room is huge with big beds & even comes with a jacuzzi. Great (and huge) breakfast included. We got private transport to take us to different sites like Moray, the salt mines, and Ollantaytambo, which was awesome since we could leave our things in the van while we explored. They were great at making sure we were on our train to Machu on time and gave us recommendations for when we went back to Cusco. Thanks Dan for the hospitality!

I just finished my stay at Life Hotel and I felt compelled to leave a review. I do not usually leave reviews. However my stay at Life Hotel far exceeded every expectation I could have had. Being Canadian and exploring a new country like Peru, I realized quickly how critical it is to find the right hotel in order to maximize the experience of the vacation. The hotel experience serves many purposes; Your needs are catered too, the food is unique and typical of the region, the service from the staff facilitates various experiences you wish to have and rooms provide comfort that far exceeds what would be required to feel relaxed and pampered.

Life Hotel checks all the boxes one could have before embarking on such a vacation. In fact the hotel has 'camelion-esk' qualities because of its unique location in the Sacred Valley. You want to spend all day at the hotel, it has all the amenities, you want to do a day trek it's within 30min of some of the best hikes on the planet, you want to simply walk around and relax, you're directly next to million dollar views of the Andes mountains. You want great food, there is a 5 star restaurant on location.

Alot of what I am saying about the hotel comes down to a very old school, extreme level of competency from the hotel manager Dan. Dan makes everything happen there, from the lowest level staff to the most esteemed guests Dan brings an aptitude to hotel management and customer service that just doesn't exist much anymore. It's clear he loves his work and it shows in his professionalism. Anything you need, treks, cabs, food and recommendations for anything in Peru he will arrange free of charge.

This place is a hidden gem and should be a place you make sure to spend some time at. You won't regret it.

A friend and I booked the Life Hotel Villa Sagrado (also branded as a Wellness Centre) for a three night stay in September 2023. We were drawn to Life by the facilities, website and positive reviews. Sadly, we were not as impressed by Life as others who have reviewed, and whilst I am not generally one to leave critical remarks, I felt it is important to convey our experiences whilst staying at Life.

The interior of the hotel is lovely. However, it was clear that we were one of the only (if not the only) customers and as a result, the hotel looked unused, unutilized, with facilities unopened, and the hotel was in a state of uncleanliness in certain areas. The pool was dirty and full of bugs (see pic) and therefore, we didn’t swim. The sauna and steam room were closed. We were advised we could use them for a fee (we chose not too as the hotel was expensive enough). We were also surprised to see no complementary water or coffee (they were available, for a fee). The restaurant was open (if we requested it), and there was also a rooftop restaurant which whilst closed, did exude loud music during the day! I was also very concerned to see photocopies of our passports left on unattended reception areas which poses a major data security breach.

Sadly, we were expecting a higher standard. What stops me from giving one star is some positives. As noted, the decor is lovely, and rooms were big and spacious with lovely bathrooms. The two staff members covering (and to my eye running) the hotel were lovely and helpful. They seemed understanding when we expressed our dissatisfaction and plans to leave early (we couldn’t stay three nights because of our experience there), and rightfully charged us for only two.

Our lasting impression was that this was an establishment in a state of transition to a Wellness centre, whilst trying to remain open as ‘Life Hotel’. Sadly, this led to a disappointing chapter in an otherwise great Peruvian trip.

Dan and his staff took exception care of our group of 72. The accommodations were very comfortable and the hotel had a distinctly European flair. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was even better. To top it all off, our group of 72 Americans very nearly got stuck in Peru when the Peruvian President suddenly closed the boarder to international travel amidst the March 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. Dan and his staff took exceptional care of us throughout this ordeal working through the night to help us stay comfortable while we considered our options.
