The Aranwa hotel is a former hacienda located in the Sacred Valley (Urubama, Cuzco). The Aranwa is much more than a hotel, it is a resort incorporating the buildings from the original hacienda. The resort includes a Spa, swimming pool, hot tub, museum, water flowing in and around beautiful gardens with llamas, parrots, peacocks, humming birds zooming around fighting over territory. One parrot could be heard screaming out 'hola.' The hacienda includes a small theater which shows movies at night (includes fresh popcorn). We had a 'large deluxe' room with balcony and a large two person jacuzzi. We enjoyed an evening eating cheese and drinking wine on the balcony. We were initially offered one of the original hacienda rooms with period furniture, but it was a little humid, so they cheerfully upgraded us. A great buffet breakfast was included in the price. Speaking of cost, probably because we were there during the slow (rainy) season (January), room prices were reasonable ($150/night for three nights with fourth night free); however, meals and drinks were extremely pricey (e.g. 26 soles/beer vs. 9 at restaurants). If you order a taxi through the hotel, they will charge a higher price for which you pay, as well as the driver will receive less. We used the hotel service once (Cuzco airport to the hotel), but ordered our own taxi thereafter via Uber/Cabify). Peruvians are known for great service in hotels and restaurants, but the Aranwa was not quite up to the normal standard, particularly at the bar. My wife is Peruvian, so I depend on her judgment. We stayed at the Sonesta twice before, and love that hotel as well. If I had to make a comparison, the Aranwa is great for the resort experience, but the Sonesta is where we went for lunch, took a pizza making class and to hang out in the bar/lobby at night to listen to a Peruvian music group. If we were to return to the Sacred Valley, we would enthusiastically stay at the Aranwa resort.

We booked a larger 2 bedroom river suite for our 3 days at the resort and it had lots of room for he 3 or us. Great views of the mountains and wildlife roaming the grounds. It is a ways out of town so you are restricted from travelling by foot, but only at $10 transfer to town for shopping and dining options. Breakfast was included and offered a full buffet + eggs custom made as requested. Tea and Coffee are also available but I would caution against it if not a local. We had some Coca tea as well as Andean Mint tea to help with the elevation, but we all were ill and think it was most likely the water. Even though it was boiled, at higher elevations that occurs at a lower temperature which most likely did not make the water potable for foreign guests. We eventually asked that they use bottled water to make our tea and that seemed to help.

Best part of the resort was the restaurant staff. Each of them were super attentive and accommodating. We would see the same people each day - some of them were there the whole day and called us by name. I did not get all of their names but all were fantastic. Mailly looked after us quite a bit and we really enjoyed her attentive care.

We would stay again if in the area.

While travelling from Cusco to Machu Picchu through the breathtaking routes of the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", we stayed for three nights at "Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness" in Huayllabamba, near Urubamba. A beautiful and secluded resort, very clean, comfortable and conveniently located near the ruins of "Sacsayhuaman", "Pisac", "Chinchero", "Maras", "Moray", "Ollantaytambo" and "Machu Picchu", of course. So, our base was at its Block E - Room 250 (beautiful, spacious and with a modern clean decoration) and every morning our driver and guide would pick us up for a busy program visiting the awesome nearby ruins and historical sites. In the evenings, dinner at its "Restaurant Gourmet Pukawi". Delicious Peruvian cuisine and extremely friendly service. If the "Sacred Valley of the Incas" is in your plans for future trips - and it should certainly be at anyone's plans, staying at "Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness" is highly recommended for all travellers, remembering a car is always needed. Enjoy!

We stayed here and while it is expensive for the area, it is well worth it. I work at Disney and I am used to very good service. The service and the staff excelled in every area. The property is beautifully manicured, calming and has Macaws, peacocks and alpacas. The shops are local artisans who are extremely nice especially the man who sells his own jewelry. The spa is beautiful and a fantastic way to relax after touring or hiking. It’s location is in between many of the ruins so that you’re not on the road if you stayed in Cusco. I would highly recommend.

Hotel is located in Sacred Valley and we stayed here after our hike to Machu Picchu
Restaurant and service was excellent. Our server Lulu was amazing and super helpful during our stay. We stayed in the 2 story family suit that also had a private pool. Very nice rooms, huge kitchen, great views of the lake and comfortable stay.
There were little flies in the room and we called the front desk. They immediately came over and removed the flies and added these scented plug ins that made them go away in minutes. We weren’t sure if there was anything they could do about it so when they did we were so pleased. The hotel is located a little ways from the center but totally worth it.
The buffet breakfast was excellent. They had an omelette station and basically anything you could think of. Would highly recommend this to friends and family.

The insane biosecurity measures that this hotel has had to impose have made for a very underwhelming experience. The location is beautiful but isolated hence you are reliant on the hotel's food and this was extremely limited during our stay. Staff and facilities are currently very reduced. They are trying their best i felt sorry for them they must be exhausted. So you can share a bed and a room but not a seat anywhere! No sumptuous exceptional buffet breakfast available currently I'm afraid instead a rather sparse selection of options. Hardly any vegetarian food options and no diversity of food choice - for longer stays you will be bored by the food very quickly as menu very limited. You cannot use the gym their are no yoga classes etc and spa options are limited. As I say probably an exceptional place ruined by Covid paranoia.

We stayed two nights here during our Peru adventure. Cannot say enough about how they are trying to maintain this hotel and keep service levels up during this COVID-time. With as few guests as they have (relatively speaking) they are doing a great job. Our room was clean and well maintained, the staff was helpful and professional and the grounds are magnificent. Yes, it is a bit outside any town, so without a vehicle you are pretty much here! No issue for us. We loved the relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of options and the food we ate in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Very pleased with our stay.

Words can hardly describe the relaxation you feel when you walk into them rooms. We ( all 3 couples) were upgraded to a suit & it was a perfect way to end our trip! The jacuzzi is so relaxing with a river view to die for. Fire place was also a perk! Because the suits were SO extraordinary we chose to order in room service in one of the spacious living rooms. We were celebrating a birthday which they wonderfully decorated a cake & even the next day one of the staff managers acknowledged the birthday! The staff made it truly special. Overall this hotel is amazing and definitely more resort-like. The grounds are amazing as well as the shops onsite and other activities. Pool & hot tubs are wonderfully set in a quaint setting with a majestic view of the mountains. They also have wonderful hummingbirds & parrots on the property. This was definitely the BEST hotel we stayed in & we stayed in primary 5-star hotels during our stay. I highly recommend spending at least a couple days here to unwind after all your Peruvian adventures.

We stayed at the Aranwa for three days while visiting Peru. This entire property was stunning. The rooms were large and comfortable. We had several "standard rooms" and a suite within our group and both were lovely. The staff was beyond attentive and were happy to help us with anything. I was very impressed when I ordered an orange juice at the bar and watched as the bartender sliced the oranges and squeezed the juice fresh in front of me. But my favorite had to be our waiter at the breakfast buffet each morning. His name was Geealberto I think. He knew my name and the names of all 8 people in my group. He would have our drinks ready for us upon greeting us by name everyday. He also would ask about anyone missing and if they needed anything. The hotel and all the staff were top notch.

The setting was gorgeous. Llamas, Macaws, peacocks can wander the beautifully manicured lawns. Several hiking trails to explore. Large shower & whirlpool bath with a towel warmer. Balcony opened to the amazing vegetation. Large rooms surrounded by glass to let in light & allow you to feel one with nature. Best breakfast on the tour. Fruit selection & taste top notch. Wish we had more than 1 night.
