Probably about 50 yards from the main plaza in town, and with wonderful views of the Incan ruins on the west side of town, Hotel Sol is located on the banks of the small river that runs through town into the Urubamba River. The rooms are pretty spacious, bathrooms are adequate, and everything is kept clean. Keep in mind, however,...

It is not easy to find a place in advance of a anticipating the end of a challenging physical journey. I booked the Hotel Sol months prior to taking my small family of four on the Inca Trail hike for four days. I booked it based mostly on price and availability and decent reviews. It was more of a one...

I reserved a 3-person room for our 3 night stay in Ollantaytambo. For the price, Hotel Sol was a good value. Our room was a ground floor room that opened to the nice little courtyard (unfortunately a room with a view of the ruins and the river was not available for us) and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The only...

I guess we had the "best" room. Large balcony with perhaps the best view in the city of the Inca ruins. The balcony rooms enjoy the river sounds. We were there in early December (low season) and no tour groups in the hotel so we enjoyed quiet and no problems with crowds in the breakfast room. Large room and bath,...

Stayed there for 1 night prior to going to Machu Picchu and again on our return. During our time away the hotel stored our cases as large cases not allowed on train to Machu picchu. They organised a taxi to take us from cusco airport, which was only $50 (2 hour trip). Wilberth Alvanez, who worked at the hotel stood...

We were placed there during our Sacred Valley & Inca Trail by SAS Travel. The hotel's personnel was so rude, when I asked if our room had a view, they told me that my travel agency did not pay for that! That might have been true, but I was willing to pay the ($7.00) difference, but did not get a...

Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Inca ruins and the sunset and is in a central location. I watched hummingbirds visiting the flowers outside the room. The view and the location were worth any small problems we encountered. Be sure to avoid showering at peak times, because there might be a shortage of hot water....

We were there for 2 nights, as they advertised high speed Internet (we work while we travel), a room with a view of the ruins/mountains, and some positive comments (I frankly do not understand if I was in the same hotel). I've travelled extensively, and I can't believe I was being charged 90 dollars when I arrived. The room had...

Nice place to stay on your way to Machu Picchu. The room was chilly in October, but a mobile heater was moved into our room to take the chill off. The shower worked well and was hot enough. Don't shower at peak times or you may not have enough hot water. Room was quiet and quite large. There is a...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for our MP trip. We took taxi from cusco to the hotel and was warmly welcomed by the staff upon arrival. The staff has given us some recommendation on the trip next day to MP and we found it extremely helpful. The hotel is equipped with hot water shower, and it ran...
