Initially we were impressed to be informed that we had been upgraded to a suite. The room size was impressive but it did have a damp smell and presumable that is why the window was open on our arrival. A couple of things did frustrate us. When we got out of the lift in the evening the hallway was dark.... More

I stayed here as part of my GAdventure tour... first, at the start of the tour, then at the end of the tour. I stayed in room 504 at the beginning of the tour and that room was terrible. Firstly, the room smelled like they were trying to cover up the mildew smell with Febreze - it was nauseating. Secondly,... More

I spend three nights at the monte real hotel. The first one you friend and I found two bugs in bed, one dead and one alive, disgusting. The bathroom was leaking and it would get all wet. The second one was after a week because I was doing a tour. That room was smelling really bad and I couldn't sleep... More

Nice big windows in clean rooms, breakfast not great. Reception staff limited English useless in locating passport details they had copied at check in when passport was lost (not at hotel). Ended up giving up as they clearly have no filling system and we ended up looking through lots ourselves to no avail.

I was worried about staying here after reading the reviews, but we didn't have a choice as we were staying there through G Adventures. My fears were confirmed: we planned to stay for three nights at the end of our trip. The toilet broke at 3 am and flooded the bathroom, everything smelled like mildew, and the front desk staff... Stayed 2 nights in Room 306 before our GAdventures tour left Lima, awful, nearly choked on mould smell in the room, bed dirty, just generally grotty. Stayed one night again at the end of the tour, our tour guide had been onto the hotel with our complaints and this night was on 7th floor in a room that was clean... More

As anticipated as we’d read the reviews on Tripadvisor- it smelled mouldy and damp. Extremely unpleasant place to stay. Despite it being non refundable no one in our group used it on returning to Lima after Inca trail preferring instead to pay for a reasonable hotel without the smell. Lots of nice hotels in Miraflores at a similar price so... More

Stayed for four nights. Linen not changed inspite of paying a daily rate before our Intrepid tour. No new soap nor shampoo given in four days. Security Safe did not work so we were given the only key available. Window opener not attached to window so could not keep open. Shower sprayed in all directions - temperature of water unreliable.... So I stayed here like most others as part of a G Adventures trip and I wasn't exactly impressed with my first night on the tour! The room smelled musty and the Internet was terrible and only worked occasionally and only in the hall next to the elevator. The receptionist just fobbed me off every time I had a question.... More

Our room for the first night of our tour was very warm. The fans did little to help and the room smelled musty. On our return we stayed a while in room 203. It reeked!! We were leaving in the middle of that night so we did not spend the night. Thank God because we would not get any sleep... More
