One room 2 queens an additional $80 per night charge was given to have my friends teenage son stay with us. The hotel used the excuse that the room was a 2 person maximum occupancy room. Typical excuse to squeeze extra money. The hotel nickel and dimes you so be ready. I travel internationally for work and have lifetime Dimond status with the Hilton. Stay frequently with Marriott, Hyatt and many others. It’s kind of a shame. Great location though. It is clean, this specific Marriott is just poorly managed.

My family and I stayed at this hotel in September 2021 for 5 nights using points. As Platinum I was upgraded to a higher floor ocean view, same type of room. Communication was great before my trip so I was so excited and had big expectations. Pros: Fast elevators, good location, excellent delicious breakfast (a little cold and very slow, but we noticed that due renovations, servers had to walk long way from the kitchen to the adapted breakfast area). You have to plan at least 2 hours for food, as they take forever to take your order and then it takes long time to get your food to the table. I see people leaving the tables upset because nobody comes to greet them, but I was being very patient, because this is not the USA. Cons: I didn't feel very welcome by the people in the front desk. I spoke to them in my native Spanish. I noticed they changed the way the talked to me, when I helped a couple of tourists with directions in my perfect English. I perceived a lot of “classism” in this hotel, so I didn’t feel very comfortable during this stay. Drop off/ pick up are was very small and uncomfortable if someone needs to wait for you with a car. Rooms were cleaned very badly, which was concerning during COVID time. Also, pay attention when booking with points, if there are more than 2 people in the room, Marriott doesn’t mention anything during reservation, but later they charge you at the hotel when doing the check in. With the support of the Marriott fan page on Facebook I was able to bring up the rules to proof they couldn’t charge me. A day before check out they told me not to worry that they wouldn’t charge me but it was very annoying to be dealing with this during vacation. I wanted to leave the worst for last. I got robbed from the safe about $150USD (more than 500 soles) I didn’t report it because I know in these countries the more vulnerable get fired when there might be an inside job, and I know they won’t do anything about it. So I took my losses and left knowing I won’t come back to this hotel ever again. I have stayed at the Sheraton Lima before (4 times total), and the service there is AMAZING.

We are staying at the Marriott Hotel Lima. My wife wedding ring was stolen from the room and when we complained the persons in the front desk they did not help us to find a solution. We have to filled a complaint with the police and realized they do not have cameras. Our card to enter the room did not work so on a daily basis we have to go back to the front desk to get fixed. If you are looking for security bad hotel to go, if your are going to stay short you are going to waste your time to get access to your room. Managers in turn were terrible. What a nightmare. Dear Pwilfredoc, I hope this email finds you in good health. My name is Ernesto Chang and I am the Security Manager of JW Marriott Lima. Today Tuesday, January 4 at 10:27 Am. and according to the internal procedures that we carried out in the hotel ,I carried out the exhaustive inspection of room 1601 that you occupied during your last stay from 30.12 to 03.01, the inspection consisted of looking in detail for the object that was allegedly stolen from your room and for which you initiated a police investigation in which we have been collaborating from the beginning to clarify what happened. I must inform you that during the inspection carried out today, the object that you declared as allegedly stolen within the premises of room 1601 was found in the pocket of one of the robes that are hanging in the closet of the room. We understand that you mentioned that you had clocated the object in the pocket of one of your bags that you hung in the closet so we believe that being the robe in the same place was confused pocket. We regret that this situation has affected in some way your stay and above all your perception of honesty in our staff who at all times only tried to help you in this situation. We are communicating to the police authorities since there is an official investigation underway we must coordinate through the authorities the return of the object we have found. No other particular and at your disposal for any additional coordination left of you. Sincerely, Ernesto Chang Security Manager

An oasis in the middle of the city. A refuge for those seeking protection and comfort. The location and the views are 5 stars. The service - 7 stars. The staff is friendly, welcoming and genuinely concerned about your well being. Ordered room service 3 times and the food was excellent 100% of the time. Got a fabulous massage. The gym is state of the art. Definitely seek no further in Lima and stay here. I wish I would have spent more than 2 days at JW Marriott. Impeccable stay for those who are accustomed to subtle luxury.

The Hotel is undergoing extensive renovation. It is a construction site. The main lobby, restaurants , bar, business center, main floor, The main access door with the circular driveway that was always well secured. All have been closed. The access to the hotel is now temporary entrance next to the casino on Larco Av. and manu other stores around . The driveway is used by many cars not related to the hotel. Many people circulating around and unsafe. .I had un incident . I arrived with remisse taxi and the driveway was blocked by other cars and taxis parked My remisse asked them for space to stop and one of the drivers claimed: This is not the hotel , find your space! I had to walk with my bags almost half a block at 2AM and no security from the hotel around. I felt unsafe. You take the elevator and go straight to the 4th level where the conventions rooms used to be. The have a temporary reception desk there and a temporary room for breakfast. From there you go to the rooms which are the same fine rooms they used to have, So essentially you go from the street to your rooms like an apartment building without any amenity and with unsafe access. Recommendation to the hotel:, First Marriot should advise guests before booking that renovation is undergoing. It should be the guests’ choice to go or not despite of the lack of amenities . It should not be a surprise to guests. Second they need to have at least three (due to the long way to the elevators within an area full of commerce) well trained security people on the street escorting guests and surveilling the area 24 hours. One needs to be next to the elevators across the casino , another one on the entrance door next to Starbucks and anther one on the driveway, particularly at night , escorting guests to avoid the incident I had . .
