My spouse and I stayed here for 4 nights, and were here with other people in our tour group --OAT. This is a good basic hotel in a safe neighborhood. It the U.S., it would probably be considered budget. The rooms were clean, we had no issues with the hot water when we showered, and there was hand soap and...

The hotel is located near lots of shops and restaurants. However, the windows are single pane and let in all noise from outside. the walls inside are just as thin as you can hear much of what goes on in rooms next door. We had hot water run out on one of the days we stayed - at 9 pm...

It was by accident we had 2 nights as our original hotel advised us we did not have a reservation even though we had a number and they booked us into the Carmel Hotel. The porter immediately arrived and helped transfer luggage and the assistant manager was at reception to greet us. Although this is an older style hotel it...

Hotel Carmel was our "home away from home" as we spent 7 of the 13 nights in Peru in this hotel at the beginning and end of our trip and in between tours. The hotel seems to cater to tour groups. The hotels in Peru do not have all the features common in U.S. hotels such as wash cloths and...

I stayed here for 2 nights November 2014 before leaving for Cusco. Located in Miraflores, it was very close to the park which borders the pacific ocean. The hop-on bus for tours of Lima was right around the corner. There are many shops and restaurants in the area which is a combination of residential and commercial. It is about a...

The beds are firm and clean, the staff are helpful and speak English, they have heat pumps in the rooms for cooling and the location can´t be beat. The price is good and the breakfast is good too with eggs, toast, rolls, cereal, fruit, sliced meat, cheese, juice and coffee. The hotel is in the Miraflores district and the area...

As others have said, it is not fancy, but it is outstanding for the price. We stayed 5 nights prior to joining our tour group. This little hotel had everything we needed.Very comfortable, extremely clean and surprisingly quiet at night. We loved the convenient location. And the staff were unfailingly kind, cheerful and helpful. We travel a lot and appreciate...

My wife and I stayed at Carmel twice for about 4 days. The first time we spent 3 days before traveling to more remote spots in Peru. At first we were not impressed but as we were able to compare it to other hotels in Peru, we were glad to get back there for our last night in Peru before...

I loved this hotel, not full of international tourists but many Peruvians. Staff were fantastic, rooms were clean and comfortable. Very near the centre of Miraflores with lots of restaurants and shops. A very safe neighbourhood. Great breakfast
