I stayed in 1900 after a long flight from Argentina. It is centrally located, most attractions could be accessed by walk. Staff are friendly, there is an excellent bar and a nice communal area. Javier Prado, the bus terminal is just a few blocks away from the hostel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we first arrived in Lima, they sent a cab driver to come pick us up from the airport and he was very friendly and knowledgable, showing and explaining many parts of the city on the way to the hostel. Once at the hostel, the receptionist was very friendly as well, helping me with...

Building looks like it's gonna fall apart soon, paper thin walls, bedsheets and beds as old as my grandmother. Best part is, be expect to be woken up with no hot shower in the middle of winter. Breakfast? You are better off with streetfood. Security is a concern too, our cab driver would not stop for long at this neighborhood...

I stayed at the 1900 Hostel my first few nights in Peru. I came straight from Lima Airport, where Antonio - hostel driver/"tourist guide" :) - picked me up reliably and gave me a quick introduction to the basic layout of Lima, while safely driving me to the hostel. The hostel itself is without a doubt above average, esp concerning...

Good location to the historic part of Lima. Clean rooms and bedding. Clean bathrooms. Free breakfast - the coffee is always hot. Hot showers. The rooms closer to the bar would likely be loud at nights. Free activies included cooking class, walking tour and games in the evenings.

If you're interestet in architecture (doesn't matter what kind), you should pay this hostel a visit, even if it is a little more expensive than the average Peru-Backpackers-Place. They offer free walking tours with a funny guide and youcan learn how to make Ceviche with a Peruvian Chef (free classes, you only pay the ingredients (10S.) and if you want...

I have stayed here a few times, more so for the great location. I recently (August) invited my brother to come visit me in Peru and he paid to use their amenities like the shower. They embarrassed me by somehow losing his paperwork and telling him he could not come in unless he registered and paid again. I was upset...

1900 Backpackers is a nice enough place for a night or two in Lima. Beds are comfortable, the building is beautiful and colonial and the showers are good when the hot water is working. However, the location is not good - the old town is 45 mins' walk away and everything else needs a taxi. Breakfast is literally just bread...

We stayed for two nights at this hostel. It was a bit noisy during the night with the cars and people blasting music, but it was in a very centralized area in Lima. We were able to get around very easily with Uber and it also was very safe with a gated door. Would definitely recommend to others if you...
