Yabar hotel has a great location with wonderful service. The receptionist, Korina, was always friendly and helpful booking taxis and reserving time slots for our daily complimentary breakfast.
We were greeted with coca tea to help with altitude sickness upon arrival. The staff assisted with carrying luggage down the cobblestone alley to our rooms.
The rooms were a decent size with decorated walls representing Peruvian culture. The outlets were already adapted for U.S. chargers to allow our phones to charge. They also provided hair dryers to prevent U.S. adapted hair dryers from frying the outlets. There is also hot water for showers and adequate plumbing for toileting.
Something to keep in mind when traveling from the U.S. is that there is no electrical heat in any Cusco hotels, restaurants, etc. so you will need to pack many layers to stay comfortably warm. The sun sets around 6 pm every night throughout the year which is when it becomes chillier. Also, keep in mind that most building are older with thin walls and because this hotel is in a central location there is a lot of outside noise throughout the night and in the morning.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April & it is the most perfect location in the historic centre! Located a 1 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor, but much quieter than being located on the plaza since the street it is on (Calle Loreto) is pedestrian only. Yes, the floors are creaky, but I always use a white noise app to sleep when traveling, and that covered any noise quite nicely. Melissa at the front desk was so nice, and provided a heater for one of the chilly nights as well as a hair dryer so I could dry my hair before bed. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower too. The breakfast was American style with eggs or pancakes cooked to order. We enjoyed chatting with Samir in the restaurant and would not hesitate to stay again when in Cusco.

Stayed at Yabar Hotel for 4 nights; 3 nights before a Machu Pichu trip and an additional night after. This is a charming boutique hotel situated on the narrow, "no-car access" Loreto street, but only about 30 meters away from the Plaza de Armas. What a great location; being so close to main attractions and still enjoying quiet nights!
The hotel is very safe, with the main desk being attended 24h a day. The hotel is very clean, and room and bathroom were spacious.
A special thank you goes to Samir who went over and beyond any expected service. His polite and friendly attitude, his useful advises and knowledge of the area was very much appreciated.
The only minor area for further improvement was that hairdryers were not automatically provided. However, when I mentioned to the front desk that I could use a hairdryer, it was promptly delivered.

My wife and I with 2 teenage kids had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Yabar Hotel during the Carnival/Festival week. We booked two rooms, and the hotel helped to arrange the rooms next to each other. This hotel's location is at the heart of the Cuzco, less than one minute walk to the main plaza, and 10 minutes walk to almost everything in Cuzco historic area. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a historical building, but with modern amenities inside, very neat, clean and cool, especially if you like to stay in a old historical house. By the way, if you get altitude sickness, they have oxygen bottle ready in the lobby, and will make coca tea for you. Loved the experience there.

This is my third visit in Cusco and Yabar is by far the best hotel I've stayed in so far. We spent 8 days at Yabar from April 4th, 2024The staffs are the best in fact without the staff Yabar Hotel would not be the same. They all speak very good English and are all very friendly and helpful. Samir makes good breakfast and is he is always very attentive to and very helpful. Melissa always welcomes you with a beautiful and big smile on her face and so friendly and Karina is the same Thank you so much my friends :) You make our stay at Yabar a very pleaseant one.

On Yabar itself. Good size room, block heater was provided. Hot water was ok. Only a few steps to Plaza de Armas. Can be a bit noisy due to the proximity to the main square but whereever you stay in Cusco you will hear the noise just bring ear plugs however at night it is very quiet. The hotel is in an old historical building you may hear other people walking but nothing disturbing. I had a single delux room the was very big and so was the bed. My family had a room with 2 double beds, the room itself was huge and they beds are of good size.

Again a big thank to Melissa, Karina and Samir you are the BEST !!!

Great receptionists, especially Karina and Noheli. They are knowledgeable about the area and are able to provide good recommendations for dinners and sightseeings. Excellent human relation. The hotel is poorly ventilated, and it can be noisy. However, the location is convenient as it is close to everything.

Yabar hotel staff were very accommodating. We arrived early in the morning before check in time and they allowed us to leave our bags. The staff also immediately served us coca tea to help with altitude acclimation.
Upon check in we found the room clean and very spacious. The bathroom had a jet tub!
The beds were super comfortable which was nice after a long trip from the US.
Breakfast was good, fruit, ham, cheese, variety of teas. You could also get eggs and toast made to order.
The location of this hotel is very convenient to the main Plaza de Armas.
Overall we had an excellent experience at Yabar Hotel

Excellent staff, perfect location, lovely hotel.
The only problem, which is something that really causes inconvenience, is the very noisy floor of rooms on the second floor.

Samir, Melissa, Karina and Alberto are lovely people and professional workers.

The room was huge and so was the bathroom. The gigantic bathtub gives it a very romantic touch. The room is a little old but if you’re into this old-style hotel, this is a perfect choice! It’s located perfectly in the middle of Cusco and the owners/operators are mega friendly. We had an amazing time!
