Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found this hostel online when searching for an affordable one that was close to San Blas, San Pedro Market, and San Francisco Plaza. Needless to say this hostel did not disappoint! Staff are extremely friendly, always willing to help you out with any issues you may have, a private room can be had for as low as 40 soles a night and dorms range from anywhere to 23 to 30 soles. The reception workers were extremely flexible when I needed to change booking dates for a variety of reasons and did everything in their power to make me feel comfortable and secure a bed when needed. Laundry service is fast and efficient, the Wi-Fi did have some problems but for the most part fine if you are in the main area of the hostel and they are currently working on fixing that now. If you choose to do a trek or tour away from Cusco you can store your stuff here for FREE! Finally I needed to receive a package from the States and when I asked the owner Marcia if I could receive it here she said yes, no problem any time, even if I am not currently staying at the hostel. She took my WhatsApp number and also refused any sort of payment or compensation for doing this for me. If you are looking for a friendly, affordable, and quiet laidback hostel in Cusco then this is the one for you.

I stayed a whole month at HokiDoki hostel in autumn 2018 as I was volunteering closeby, in a restaurant. I felt at home the whole time ! Marse is an amazing host. I got a discount for staying that long, then I was upgrated because it was the end of high season, so I had a 4 bed-room for myself for three weeks in a row. The internet connexion is very good, the location is fine as well (10 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas), breakfast is included (bread, jams, hot beverages), the kitchen is clean, the showers are always warm, the courtyard is very pretty. I really felt at home. The staff was so sweet and respectful that I would have loved to stay longer ! Thank you for having me, I will never forget my trip to Cusco !

Oki Doki Hostal is a true hidden gem. Although it's near the main square and is in the heart of the historic centre of Cuzco, i felt safe and it wasn't noisy. It was quite relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is very good. It's a good value for money.

This place has rooms built around a courtyard. When it rains the centre is wet and noise travels through rooms. We had a 4 bed room to ourselves. It had a toilet, shared bath and no window. We booked trek with them to Salkantay which was fabulous. When we came back we stayed another night in a twin room with a window and shared toiket/bath. This room was noisy from the street and had a sky light that woke us up early. Some of the desk staff were more helpful than others. Overall it wirked well when we had to get picked up at 4am for the tour and then to stay when we were tired afyer the trek.

Stayed here for 3 nights before departure to Machu Picchu. Hostel had everything one needs for a safe and comfortable stay. Showers were awesome. Kitchen and eating area were sufficient although oven did not work and utensils were at a minimum. Breakfast was very small but better than nothing. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable and clean. Location was perfect - close to everything

Stayed in Cusco many times over the years, and Okidoki is TOPS! Small, kind, friendly. Just up from San Pedro Market in the center of it all. Just don't stay in #112. It's a beautiful private room facing the street. And the noise is stupendous. I'm writing at 11pm Monday night and my earplugs are my best friends.
