I couldn't have asked for a more friendly, helpful, comfortable place to stay. Run by several young women, I was shown the utmost hospitality. The hostel is securely tucked away in a neighbourhood ten minutes' walk from the centre. There are plenty of shops, eateries, laundries, etc. nearby. It's only a short hop to supermarkets and the wonderful San Pedro markets. I loved my seven nights here. Parting was a sad affair for all.

I was in Cusco for 2 weeks, and did some trekking in the middle of my stay. I was treated like family for my whole stay, and everything you need is there. If you want to have a relaxing time in Cusco, I would definitely recommend this hostel!

We stayed here for two nights
The family was so warm and helpful with everything we needed!

The room was great and breakfast too.

Very nice place!

The only thing that was missing is water during the night. (not sure if its something to do with the city or this place in particular)

Pros: Quiet, Reasonable Prices, the girls who run it are very nice, bedding seemed clean, working wifi

Cons: FAR from city center (15 minute cab ride), hard to find, no English spoken, couldn’t get hot water to work, no toilet paper in bathroom, dirty bathroom, far from restaurants, no ATMs in the area

I could only recommend this guesthouse to someone who is fluent in Spanish and doesn’t want to spend any time in Cusco’s city center.

Nice hotel, walking distance from San Pedro Market and Plaza de Armas. Hosts are very welcoming, flexible and friendly. For example they let us leave our backpacks when going out for multiple day trips around Cusco.

The people who run the place and the location are excellent...but thats about it. The place needs some refurbishing, especially the showers. Rooms have almost no ventilation and the beds are poor. I would not recommend the place to a tipical tourist.

Jimmy was immeasurably welcoming and accommodating, spending time with you to help you get your bearings and make recommendations on where to go. He has such a lovely manner.

The hostel is well presented at about a 15 minute walk from the centre. Good kitchen and lounging facilities.
A big recommendation I would make is to have thick curtains for the glass doors and windows for keeping the rooms warm but also to keep the light out. If you are a light sleeper and are in the rooms opposite the lounge and kitchen, maybe wear a mask? We left only because the room we were in at that price was not available the next night.

We stayed here for 6 nights to acclimatise to the high altitude before embarking on the Inca Trail. The hostel felt more like someone's house than a hostel which might be nice for some but we found it incredibly isolated as there were no other travellers to really talk to like you would in a hostel.

The location was ok, only a 10 minute walk away from the city centre. However, we found hostels in the city centre for a cheaper price and a much better location. Had we known that, we've would have chosen to stay there instead.

We were given a private room next to the kitchen which meant we were woken up every morning to people having their breakfast. Breakfast was basic with tea, juice, bread rolls, cheese and jam.

My biggest negative was that there is no hot water. None in the showers or taps. On my first day I ended up taking an ice cold shower which resulted in a full blown cold and put a massive dampener on my stay. Others that stayed here decided to not shower for a few days as the water was too cold.

The family that run the hostel are super nice and so cannot fault them. However, they do not speak any English which made our communication with them difficult as our Spanish was non existent.

We had a wonderful stay at El Tumi de Oro. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is a nice kitchen/dining/living room area to use whenever you like.

We actually found out that our flight from Cusco to Lima was cancelled, and we weren't sure why. When we told the staff, they immediately set about calling the airport, the airlines, etc. to help us figure things out, and then they personally drove us to the bus station and helped us buy tickets so we could make our flight home from Lima the next day. We were blown away by their generosity.

The hotel is about a five minute walk to the San Pedro Market, and about ten minutes from the Plaza de Armas. We stayed two nights before hiking the Inca trail, leaving our bags with them, and then returned for another night after the hike. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
