Tierra Viva Cusco San Blas hotel is located in the heart of San Blas, Cusco´s most artistic neighborhood, also called the “Artisan´s Neighborhood”. We remodeled an old colonial residence, which was constructed in adobe, carefully preserving the most traditional aspects of its architecture. The residence has 24 spacious rooms, an inner courtyard, characteristic of Cusco´s colonial houses and a marvelous garden.Next to the hotel´s entrance you will find the dining room where the buffet breakfast is served and a cozy hall where you will be able to check in. The rooms are located around the indoor patios, with large windows that let in the amazing colors of the Peruvian highlands. Tierra Viva Cusco San Blas hotel is decorated with colonial paintings, designs made by local Cusco craftsmen and is surrounded by the plants, flowers and trees of the Andes.Tierra Viva Cusco San Blas hotel is located a few meters from one of the most emblematic places of the city od Cusco, the Plaza de San Blas and is just 4 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. In spite of its central location, the hotel is situated just far enough from the noise and the hustle to let you enjoy the peace and quiet that every traveler needs, in the most bohemian neighborhood of Cusco.Welcome to Tierra Viva Cusco San Blas!

We couldn't have been more pleased with this hotel. The room was impeccably clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfasts satisfying. It is in an ideal location in Cusco's San Blas neighborhood, arguably the nicest area close to the central plaza due to its restaurants, authentic gift shops and local markets.

Being a frequent traveler, I greatly appreciated the comfortable bed/bedding, the abundance of hot water with great pressure, a sink with a stopper that works, fresh towels daily, the in-room security safe and a wide variety of breakfast options with a kitchen that opened from 05:00-10:00 to accommodate tour departures.

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and gladly stored baggage between stays and while exploring the city after checking out, but before departing to the airport.

We also stayed at the Tierra Via in Aqua Calientes while visiting Machu Picchu. It was even nicer which leads me to believe that the entire chain throughout the country would be equally as nice. Hometown comfort while traveling!

Needed something at a reasonable price in the historic area with wifi, breakfast, and AC so this hit most of the marks. AC was not in the room, however, another guest stated they had a unit brought to the room. Based on the weather we did not need the AC. The country of Peru does not deal with USD yet the hotel charged $7 USD for a kilo of laundry when right across the street a vendor offered it at S./7 which really is the going rate. The hotel arranged a taxi service to/from the airport and the cost was S./20 which I highly recommend. Due to the narrow streets, only taxis can drive on it, thus for our excursions we had to walk down the street a bit where vans and larger vehicles could park. The front desk was generous and allowed us to stay in our room on check-out morning until noon for our 2 PM flight. Breakfast was good and I really enjoyed the hot milk with my coffee. Rooms 201, 202, and 203 are all above the street so next time I would ask for a room off the road so I could open the windows and not hear the traffic below.

I booked a room for one night and ended up staying six nights at Terra Viva in San Blas Cusco
The staff was very helpful and courteous starting with Pamela the front desk manager. There are many cheaper properties around but for the money .
This is a great place. No dogs barking or roosters to keep you awake at night.
Beautiful landscaped garden area is a great place to relax..
The rooms are very nice with excellent showers and plenty of hot water.
The buffet breakfast was very good with a big selection to choose from and cooked to order eggs. plus...lots of fruit and other selections to please any hunger.
Very clean and comfortable place to stay and I will definitely stay here again when I return. I reccomend this hotel to everyone looking for a convenient location to the main square.

After several days in a cold, dismal BnB in the San Blas neighborhood of Cusco, my wife and I had had enough. We searched the net for a nearby hotel and saw the 9.3 review of Tierra Viva. The hotel had space and we moved that morning.

Our only regret is that we did not book Tierra Viva San Blas for our entire time in Cusco. Lovely room, quiet location, helpful/friendly staff, very clean, quiet garden and patio, it was a perfect contrast and relaxing oasis to the many over-touristed parts of Cusco.

For many years in the 1990s and 2000s I was a professional travel writer. I have stayed in a considerable number of the best hotels around the world. Though officially a three-star hotel, I can't see why, in Cusco, anyone would want more than what Tierra Via San Blas provides at an extremely reasonable price.

The hotel is located close walking distance to the city center, but far enough to be removed from all the noise. There’s also laundry, markets, and good restaurants close by. The furnishings are moderate but the facilities are very clean and the rooms were comfortable and warm. The breakfast had a nice selection and was available as early as 5 a.m. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating with some last minute changes I had to make. For the price, this hotel met and exceeded expectations.

We could not have been more happy with our stay here! The property and our rooms were absolutely beautiful. We were able to pick out what breakfast we wanted the next day. The food was incredible! They had some of the best crepes I have ever had! The staff have been the best part, they are so kind! They have been great with recommendations of local restaurants, and they have made sure we are happy with our room and stay. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Tierra Viva San Blas is a three-star hotel nestled in the artistic neighborhood of San Blas in Cusco, known for its colonial charm and close proximity to local crafts and cafes. The hotel offers a comfortable stay with its spacious rooms and characteristic colonial architecture. However, during our stay, we encountered a significant inconvenience—one day we were without water, and the hotel did not inform us in advance that this could happen. While the overall service from the staff was good, the lack of communication regarding the water issue was a notable oversight. Given its amenities and services typical of a three-star establishment, the hotel generally meets expectations, but it’s important for potential guests to be aware of possible issues like these.

The location of the hotel is optimal. The room got a little too cold at night and the heater did not heat up fast or high enough to combat the cold. The breakfast was good. The lobby with the coca tea and other tea options was a good touch. Coffee would have made the variety of options complete for non coffee drinkers.

edmachete asked a question June 2017
Adjuntas, Puerto Rico
How many guests per room?
Answer from Sue S
Syracuse, New York, United States25 contributions17 helpful votes
I think it would depend on the room. I stayed in a room by myself, but it was a king-sized bed and would accommodate two people. I'm pretty sure they have a suite-type room that is good for a family and there are rooms with different bed configurations. I suggest looking at their website (which I was going to include but TripAdvisor doesn't let me...you can either google it or get the link through TA) or calling them.
