We stayed a total of 4 days in this hotel during our recent trip to Cusco (we originally reserved for 3 days and then added another day at the end of the trip by paying cash). The front desk people are extremely helpful.
Free breakfast is pretty good. Free all-day coca tea available at the reception is a big plus for altitude sickness!
We had 4 in our party (me, my wife, and my 2 boys - 17 and 21) and the room with the 2 double beds worked well for us.
I also highly recommend the travel agent that sits next to the reception. His name is Juan and he's with Kontiki Tours, and he took care of all our needs for MachuPichu, Sacred Valley and Lake Titicaca very efficiently.

Had a great 2 night stay here! I stayed in the Junior Suite and it did not disappoint. The jet spa was great and much needed after a busy previous week in Cusco.

The breakfast was great and the staff were so friendly. Laundry service cos me 35 soles for 3.5kgs all done on the same day!

Would recommend staying here! Less than a 10 min walk to the main square and a really peaceful location with a small store next door!

We stayed at the Taypikala Hotel during our trip to Machu Picchu and other sites in Peru. Every staff member greets you with a smile and a warm welcome. On one particular day, we were leaving at 1pm to travel closer to Machu Picchu and visit the site the next morning. Since we were returning to the Hotel the next evening, we were allowed to stow our extra bags until we returned. The most impressive thing during our stay occurred on this same day. We didn't have time to venture out for lunch and asked the receptionist if she had any suggestions. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast (which was included in our rate) and dinner (very reasonable prices). The wait staff was not available but the Chef was.
She asked the Chef if he could make us something for lunch. Since the wait staff was not at work yet, the receptionist waited on us. Both the receptionist and Chef went above and beyond in my opinion adding to our already memorable experience.

Nice location close to the Coricancha, and an easy walk from the main plaza. Rooms are spacious and organized around a main courtyard (some 2nd and 3rd floor rooms have Juliette balconies to the courtyard). There's a nifty thumbprint/biometric safe, but no ventilation other than the window. Unfortunately, the only lock on the door is push button, which doesn't lock automatically when you leave and didn’t feel particularly safe. Wish they would use refillable soap and shampoo rather than single-use plastics. Breakfast buffet selection was good, especially on the days when they have an omelet station.

This hotel was picked because I used an amazing tour group called Knotikiperu.com
They made it so easy in the best possible places for me. I stayed here my first night of arriving in Peru. This amazing tour companies set up everything we needed from amazing drivers to seeing all these phenomenal spiritual and historical sites all over Peru with the amazing world, renowned shaman, Jorge Luis Delgado. I am so grateful to this tour company and all the amazing sites I was able to see specially Machu Picchu. They said that up fabulously and seamlessly for me. This Cusco hotel is wonderfully placed in the midst of the city on a quiet street easily accessible to the main squares, and all those beautiful churches. The breakfast was great. The coffee was good. The people working here are so nice and kind. I really enjoyed it. I also stayed at their other hotel in Urubamba, which was phenomenal! This is a wonderful hotel chain. I think came back from my last night before leaving Cusco and it was just as good and I had an amazing dinner that was delicious at the hotel. It’s also very reasonably priced considering the area
I highly recommend this hotel for your couscous day.

Stayed with our group from G adventures. Our family had 2 rooms facing the courtyard on the ground floor. Courtyard is dated and basic. Rooms were clean and basic, stuffy but had dehumidifiers. Kettles and coco tea but no drinking water refills. Bathrooms were dated and one of the shower heads needed to be held, the others faucet release was broken. I didn’t see any bugs but seemed to get small itchy bites overnight?

Breakfast had omelet stations but all the other hot options were unsavoury. Nice fruit and juice.

Nice location to explore but I wouldn’t go back.

We stayed at Hotel Taypikala for our weeklong stay in Cusco. The hotel was nice, the staff was very accommodating, they even prepared sack breakfasts for us to take when we had 4am pickups for our hiking trips! They have oxygen available in the lobby if needed and staff at the desk 24/7. All the staff speaks English which is so helpful. Hotel is within walking distance of the main plaza which is great. The breakfast in the mornings is delicious with a lot of selection and the dinner at the restaurant at night is great and convenient after long days of hiking! Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Cusco.

I enjoyed the service. The staff went out of their way to help me. When I needed some gingers to make tea, they went to the kitchen and gave me some. They also gave me a knife to cut up the ginger. The room was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the bathtub was great. I highly recommend this hotel.

I am glad I selected the Taypikala Hotel Cusco for my travel in the Cusco area. It is located 10 min walk from Main square, or 10 minutes ride by taxi. I planned a 4-day trek to Machu Picchu and the hotel accommodated my request for storage for those 4 days. It had all I needed for a comfortable stay - friendly staff at the front desk, clean and neat rooms, a free breakfast in the morning, a restaurant open at night. I did not have any language problems - the bilingual staff at the front desk solved all my requests eagerly and easily. Nice stay!

I have stayed in the Cusco Taypikala for 15 years. The decor is all authentic Andean art work and textiles. The beds and rooms are great. food is fresh and excellent. Best of all it is a stones throw from the Koricancha temple and the central square of Cusco.

There are US electrical outlets but I don't remember there being USB ports. I just used my phone charger with it's USB port. All the outlets in Peru are like US outlets.
