We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel. We loved the architecture of it. The rooms are big and have rustic design. If you feel cold, there are heaters in the rooms and you can ask for more. People working there are really friendly and helpful.
We were really pleased with the service and we recommend the hotel highly!

I loved this property! It is located in the historic center and within walking distance of everything that I wanted or needed. And the closes restaurant (Organika) is just steps away and delicious. The decor is very welcoming. The only reason I reduced from 5 to 4 is that the internet was sporadic during the last half of my stay. MAnagement said it was throughout the city but wherever I went for coffee, food, the internet was working fine else in the area so not sure if they had a different service than the other properties. Also, I asked for two wake up calls but they never came. My phone worked fine but because my wake up was in the middle of the night, I wanted to have a back up. I don't think a guest should could on this property to do wake up calls--at least at 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. It says they have 24 hours front desk but I'm not sure if they are actively working or just on property and possibly sleeping/resting. This would not deter me from staying her again. The property is really well located and very clean. I would gladly stay her again. If internet worked and wake up calls would have come through, I would've given this property an excellent rating .BTW, I loved Cusco and Peru. This stay was the perfect ending to a month-long trip and I enjoyed being here.

Amazing hotel in Cusco near La plaza de armas. The breakfast is really good and if you have an early tour they give you a box breakfast . The room is quite, clean and beautiful. The staff is friendly and they help you with everything any time. 100% recommended.

Rooms are quite classic with a lot of wood but very comfortable. Nothing too fancy but everything you need and everything works fine. The main star of the hotel is the staff; very friendly and helpful - they even helped us with our luggage when the street was closed and the van could only get till the main square. Especially Alejandro was great.

I stayed in Cusco for a month and have stayed at Midori Hotel pretty much the entire time.

Initially, I had planned to stay at a more affordable hostel around Plaza de Armas. The first night turned out to be a total disaster (the hostel is on a street with a dance club and the music and screaming last till 4 am). I packed my stuff first thing in the morning and wandered around town, asked many hotels of similar category and decide to stay at Midori.

The reason that I stayed here the entire time:

1. The hotel is very cosy: It's not your Four Season with luxurious facilities. But it has pretty much everything you need: hot shower (it's actually hot!), free wifi, very clean room of decent size, tasteful furniture, a small TV, a safe, complimentary breakfast with all the good stuff (breakfast meat, egg, cereal, all sorts of juices/coffee/tea, fresh fruits). I am staying at the most basic single room so you might get more if you stay at one of the suites.

2. The location: Is perfect! It's right off Plaza de Armas. However, the street is not one of those tourist street packed with shops, restaurants, and people constantly ask whether you need massage or tour information. In fact, it's pretty much the only street near the plaza that you can stay away from the constant harrasement. Since it's right across from a school, at night it's very quiet and you can actually get some good night sleep.

3. Friendly staff: Everyone is nice here, and Alexander in particular! He knows that I am here to learn Spanish and he would make the effort to practice with me when he has a chance. Also, for some reason, a few things broke down at my unit and every single time, the staff just replaced a new one immediately without any complaints.

A few caveat:
1. The sounds proof is not that great and the staff starts the day pretty early so sometimes I got woken up early in the morning even though my room is already off the main courtyard.
2. The hotel closes its door really early in the evening (I think around 9:30 but not sure), I believe for security reasons. There are always someone at the front desk and you just have to knock and someone will come open the door for you. But one time it took a good 5 minutes before someone come open the door for me and I swear to god I thought I was going to sleep on the street that night.
3. Not sure whether it's a Peru thing but I don't seem to have encounter similar situation at other hotels elsewhere. But one night my friend came visit me and when I said to the front desk staff "send my friend over to my room" I was told "it is impossible". We ended up having to hang out at the courtyard even though it's freezing at night this time of the year in Cusco. I understand it's also for security reason, but I still found it a bit bizarre since I've paid for my room and I should be able to invite my friend to hang out.

Anyways, this is my 2nd time visiting Cusco and of all the places I've stayed, Midori is definitely my favourite. It's truly my home away from home for the past month. I am sure I will come back to Cusco again and will for sure stay at Midori.

My friend and I stayed in the Midori Hotel for three nights around a trip to Machu Picchu. The hotel has really easy access to the Plaza de Armas. Though as other reviewers have noted, it is uphill all the way back to your place after a long day or touring/shopping/exploring. (At least it's down hill to start your day!) The rooms were large and comfortable and the space heaters provided were a great touch as it gets cold at night. But with plenty of blankets and the space heater, we always woke up cosy in the morning.

We stayed in rooms 202 and 204. 202 had a great view of the streets, roof tops and hills peeking out above as well as a nice balcony style door to open. We thought it was really charming until we realized that every car that came down the hill, regardless of size, sounded like a freight train. And, yes, cars drive down the cobblestoned Calle Ataud all night long. If you are a light sleeper, don't pick this room. It's also located next to the computer and a small reading/lounging area where people would congregate early in the morning and when they came in for the night. 204 however, was overlooking the patio. No view out the window, but the room was huge and we didn't hear a car all night long.

Wifi service strong throughout and a shared (though pretty old) computer on the second floor is available. Breakfast is a good start to the day with plenty of options to choose from. We also used the laundry service while we were there. We had spent time in the Galapagos prior to Peru and we each had about a week's worth of clothing to wash. Unfortunately, they make you pay by the piece. So we ended up spending about 85 Soles to do about two weeks worth of clothes. My friend said the front desk lady was pretty surprised by the amount of clothing she had managed to wedge into the bag when it was dropped off :) But it all came back nicely folded and washed after about 24 hours.

This is a small hotel located walking distance from the Plaza de Armas and many shops and restaurants. The front desk staff are nice and they always have a stock of bottled water for 2 soles available. WIFI is also free. The only issue that caused us not to rate the hotel a little higher is the noise level near the room we were staying in (we had a matrimonial room #201). There was a school nearby so basically there were children's voices, band practice, etc from early in the morning to fairly late in the evening. The breakfast was also very simple so there weren't a lot of options, but Starbucks is walking distance if you just want to grab a quick pastry before heading out.

This is an excellent 3 star hotel in the center of historic Cuzco. It's a charming little place in a beautiful restored colonial hose, it has everything that you'll need while exploring one of the most important historic places in the world. It has excellent location!!!

As soon as you walk in the staff will welcome you with mate de coca or coca tea .You have to remember that Cuzco is high up in Andes, 11200 ft (3400m) high, so it is good to be informed about SOROCHE or high altitude sickness. Coca tea helps you to cope with it, there is an area in the dining room for tea making, you can make it whenever you want as much as you want, take it to your room or drink it downstairs in a hotels courtyard. You won't be drugged from it, it's just used as a medicine, but be careful with it if there is a drug test waiting for you when you get back home.
This hotel is within walking distance to everything important in Cuzco. Few steps away from Plaza De Armas, restaurants, souvenir shops, museums, churches etc. You'll walk by Inka Museum as you go to the main square. You can even walk to the Saqsayhuaman site if you've managed your soroche.
The staff speaks English , they are helpful and polite, you bags will be carried to your room upon arrival and they can store your luggage for you after check out which is at 10am.
The rooms are different, some are small but some are big as three bed room on the second floor we stayed in. It was spacious, bright and clean with a high ceiling, sofa, table, chairs, 2 electric heaters for the cooler periods and cable TV. The bathroom was nice, very clean. WiFi is free, ask for a password.
Breakfast is included and available from 5:30 in the dining room down stairs, food is great and fresh ! You have oxygen tank in there too, if needed.

This hotel is full of charm, a great place to go back to after a whole day of exploring.
We loved it and would go back any time !

Yes, book your hotel in Aguas Calientes, Peru. Hotel Waman(5☆) is near the train station. Travel light because all the hotels are on steep hills. There are NO taxis to any hotel

Hi, We caught the train in Ollantaytambo, half way to Machu Picchu from Cusco, not in Cusco itself, so I'm afraid I can't help. Sorry!

Hi, We went in April, and took a mix of lightweight and heavyweight clothes because we were unsure of the weather (light shirts, thick pullovers, anoraks and light rainproof jackets to mix as appropriate). Breakfasts at the hotel were very good - a mix of cold and hot food. I don't know how much we paid for the train journey to Macchu Pichu, since ours was an all-inclusive holiday, but I believe it is quite expensive. We went by coach from the hotel and caught the train at Ollantaytambo. We spent the night in a hotel at Aguas Calientes near Machu Picchu so that we would have the whole day at Machu Picchu. I think the journey from the hotel to the airport took about 30 minutes. Hope this helps.
