We chose this hotel in Cusco because of the great reviews it received and we were not disappointed. After having an okay stay in Lima, with less than excellent service, we were more than pleased to be greeted so enthusiastically, to be informed so well...More
We booked at Torre Dorada based on reviews on TripAdvisor, and were anticipating a good experience. What we found exceeded even those expectations. At Torre Dorada, you will get the kind of support and assistance that you would normally find in a 5-star in a...More
We stayed at this hotel due to the excellent reviews on tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The hotel is in a residential neighbourhood a little outside of town but they offer a free taxi service 24/7 so this isn't too much of an issue. The...More
I spent a few days before and after my Inka Trail hike at the Torre Dorada in Cusco. From the pickup at the airport to the drop off when I departed the treatment I received was top notch. Inspite of the fact that my spanish...More
We booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews, so it's only fair I add my own. This place is highly rated for a reason. The excellent customer service started well before our arrival. We were planning to stay for 3 nights, all disconnected, between our...More

First of all you should allow at least 4 days for your visit. Many people come and they see Cusco and they would have liked to have more time. At least allow one day for Cusco, then you can take the next day a tour of the Sacred Valley this way you can see Pisac town and archeological site then you can Have lunch in Urubamba and end up your tour in Ollataytambo. Ollantaytambo is about 2 hours from Cusco, but if you visit Pisac as well you will be in Ollantaytambo around 3pm, you can stay in Ollantaytambo that evening or take the train to Aguas Calientes (M;achupicchu) the same day. You can also sleep in the town of Aguas Calientes and then get up real early and go to Machupicchu when there is not so many people. then in the afternoon get back to Cusco.
The cost for the tour to Ollantaytambo is around USD 25.00 Per person and this includes guide , bus and lunch. If you prefer to take a private taxi you can do that as well just be aware that you will not have a guide and lunch. The private opptiom is between 60 and 70 USD.
