We had a very good stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful in booking our tours, guiding us on places to visit and suggesting restaurants. The hotel picks you up from the airport and also drops you in the Cuzco city area for...More
My dad and I stayed in the Torre Dorada Hotel in Cusco whilst on a recent trip to Peru. We chose this hotel after the reviews on Trip Advisor highly recommended the friendly hotel and I have to say we were not disappointed.
My boyfriend and I stayed a couple of nights in July 2011. It took me a while to write this post because I kept putting it off, but my stay was so wonderful that I wanted to make sure I gave credit to the staff...More
We stayed 4 nights in November 2011. The kindness of the staff is really exceptional. The Hotel is not located downtown Cusco, but they have an excellent taxi service that is included in the price of the room. The Hotel has nice rooms, with private...More
Five star service at a three star price. That's all you really need to know. But, if like me, you are concerned with the location (it's well away from the 'action') don't worry, Torre Dorada has made it very convenient to get to and from...More

First of all you should allow at least 4 days for your visit. Many people come and they see Cusco and they would have liked to have more time. At least allow one day for Cusco, then you can take the next day a tour of the Sacred Valley this way you can see Pisac town and archeological site then you can Have lunch in Urubamba and end up your tour in Ollataytambo. Ollantaytambo is about 2 hours from Cusco, but if you visit Pisac as well you will be in Ollantaytambo around 3pm, you can stay in Ollantaytambo that evening or take the train to Aguas Calientes (M;achupicchu) the same day. You can also sleep in the town of Aguas Calientes and then get up real early and go to Machupicchu when there is not so many people. then in the afternoon get back to Cusco.
The cost for the tour to Ollantaytambo is around USD 25.00 Per person and this includes guide , bus and lunch. If you prefer to take a private taxi you can do that as well just be aware that you will not have a guide and lunch. The private opptiom is between 60 and 70 USD.
