Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My sister and I booked 3 nights at Intro Hostels in Cusco in a private room without a bathroom. We thought it was in a good location, our room was spacious but simple and had a nice view of one of the Cathedrals, and the outdoor space was nice to hang out in. The downside was the bathroom was slightly far from our room.
We really appreciated all the front desk employees who gave us recommendations for tour companies and assisted us in booking two separate all-day private taxis.

A very social hostel with great atmosphere, perfect for meeting other travellers. The free luggage storage was great! However, the beds in the dorms, doors and floors are VERY squeaky which was annoying at night. Also since it’s a colonial building with old doors and bad insulation, expect to be cold at night.. The included breakfast was small and not very filling, but can be upgraded for a small cost. The maintenance was a bit slow, a toilet door was broken on our first night and still not fixed 7 nights later. Overall a good hostel!

We where the first guests in the Intro Hostel after they reopened and I‘m really glad we chose this Hostel. Freddy, the part owner, was extremly helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the dorms which were clean, comfortable and they even provided a heater for the cold nights. The rooms also have a balcony with an awesome view. The location of the Hostel is really convenient and close to all the main attractions. In the mornings they make breakfast which can be diffrent every morning. One of the best parts was the restaurant. The food is amazing and they have very fair prices. I‘d always chose this hostel again.

Good place to stay and good price due to location & 24 hour reception. Wifi is not great and the food could be better (Burgers are good though) but not too much of a worry as there are lots to places to eat nearby. When we went the social area got busy in the evening but not a lot to do in the day.

this was by far the best hostel i have stayed at. Vey nice staff and very accomodating. Luis is very friendly and helped me in booking tours in and around Cusco. It has a nice patio and a fireplace which is too good to hang out and meet people

Freddie and Luis were excellent hosts. Food was delicious. Hostel was in easy walking distance from Ciudad Cusco. Loved that I was staying in a refurbished building approximately 300 years old, with thick walls. Loved sleeping under authentic Andes blankets. Stayed here from July 2-13, 2021. It was my home in Cusco.

The hostel Intro in Cusco just reopened. My friends and I were one of the first guest since they reopened. We stayed here for 3 nights and the staff (Fredy and XX) were super nice! They have breakfast included for an amazing price ! They also serve amazing food in the restaurant too. The sandwiches were really good !

Pros: The bed was cozy! Things were clean! Lots of space in the bathroom which was nice.
Cons: unfriendly staff and not a very social place in general. The breakfast was good but too small.
Overall it worked as a place to stay but a bed and bathroom are bare minimum..

Despite the good reviews of this Hostel,we were unimpressed with our experience. The showers were cold on numerous occasions and when I notified staff of this they responded saying that the shower couldn't be cold because the gas was on and did not investigate the problem. Overall, the staff were very unhelpful and sometimes unfriendly. An awkward attempt was made to foster a party hostel vibe which didn't work at all! The hostel set up itself is nice but as it is mostly outside it can get very cold!

The service we received here was perhaps the worst we've received so far in South America. The reception staff are incredibly rude and incompetent. It's quite evident that this hostel is a chain and doesn't care about its clients as much as it does money. We booked on hostelworld and paid an $8 USD bookinyg fee for this luxury. We had documentation confirming our booking and the balance left to pay after the booking fee. When we arrived they had our booking wrong and claimed we had only reserved one bed when we reserved two. This was remedied and we filled out all the necessary documentation and waited until 1pm to be shown to our room. At 1pm we approached reception and asked to be shown to our room, however, somehow they had lost all record of our booking and we were made to check in a second time. They were extremely unapologetic about this inconvenience. Upon check out, they tried to excessively overcharge us. The rooms had changed price from $15 USD per night to $17 USD and they claimed that we had not paid the $8 booking fee despite the fact that we had a receipt. The receptionist was incredibly apathetic when we disputed the price and refused to let us speak to management. The final price did not at all match our invoice from hostelworld and while I do not believe the "customer is always right," I do believe the service we received was subpar. The ultimate problem was not the price, it was the service. While the facilities were adequate, the overall vibe of the establishment was cold and uninviting and I believe this is due to the attitude of the staff. We would have submitted this review on hostelworld had the establishment not conveniently cancelled our booking.

We got that warning from a lot of hostels when we traveled Peru. I think it's a scam that happens often, although we never experienced it. The into hostel is real (and so nice!) we booked through hostel world, they are legit and offer booking protection. :)
